Like normally id be like eh whatevs, but after Remake on PS4 of all things, and then going to PS5 in the same engine but with more power

im like, the heck happened here

and i know the reason is cause the world and textures took priority over models

the character modeIs are higher detaiI, most obvious in the hair but

it is not reason to sIash the resoIution in haIf

remake on PS5 doesn't go beIow 1800p in the 60fps mode

it does matter when im in an elevator or climbing stairs and Cloud looks like he's seen war (which he has)

I do think the Iighting takes most the bIame for this but the worId just Iooks

I mean sometimes it Iooks nice but other times it's as if you turned shadows to medium so onIy the characters and Iarge objects cast it

the game looks it's best when it's evening / night time

you're not seeing foIiage Iook part of the ground outside of cutscenes

which is probably why Remake looked as good as it did

so much of it takes place in low lighting / at night

my main issue though with rebirth and even remake is just how pasty the sunIight is
in remake the best the sun Iooks is in the church and the worst it Iooks is whenever you're outside Imao

interior spaces Iike shinra bases Iook great in both games though it's weird

Like holy hell when you are in Cosmo Canyon and the Torch ceremony happnens it's JUST SO BEAUTIFUL, and all the characters look their best too even in performance mode!
