Yes internet explorer 9 is in beta. You can download it here...

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie-9/home

"Wait Fred! Why would I want to use IE9? IE8 was the worst browser to ever disgrace humanity!"

You see browsers like firefox and chrome take many small steps in their development.

Internet Explorer takes a few huge leaps. Because of this IE9 is an AMAZING improvement from IE8.

Here are some of the features

-Very fast, its speed is comparable to Chrome

- Add Ons are coming to Internet Explorer, there aren't many yet but they are coming.

- Security is great but it doesn't make you click on 90 different things.

- Microsoft is working with a lot of top companies that will optimize their websites for IE9.

- Clean and simple look, it won't take up half the viewing space unlike in IE8

- Easy to use download manager

- Easy to use Favorites.

And more!

Another thing is that although the look has been radically changed, its what is on the inside that counts in this. Most browsers only use 10% of the computers processing power and doesn't use GPU.

IE9 uses a good portion of the power and uses GPU. Making the browser much more powerful and can run more diverse websites.

Go to this site on firefox or whatever you use

http://www.beautyoftheweb.com/#

click on the little cube on the upper left side and turn on the first option.

Increase the amount of fish, on my computer after increasing past 100 fish things lag terribly (I tested on Firefox)

Now download IE9 and try it again.

On my computer I can easily handle the maximum of 1000 fish with no lag at all. Which means IE9 is 90% more powerful than Firefox.

So try it out, if you don't like it just delete it. Here are a few things to keep in mind

ITS A BETA

In other words it isn't finished yet, we are testing the browser for microsoft.

So with that in mind...

There will be bugs

Some websites won't load correctly

There may be a few inconviencenes.

You will have to update the browser regularly as things get fixed.

Things can and will be fixed.

But from the looks of things so far, the complete version of IE9 will be very promising and will definately compete with Firefox and Chrome.

Hence the reason why imma stick with Firefox until it's finished. (and the fact that I have all of my bookmarks and crap on FF. D: )

Though, IE9 sounds like it'll at least be better than IE8 (...it crashes my computer everytime I run it for more than 3 seconds...)

Thats alright, but when its finished I reccomend trying it out. Im using it right now and I love it. Importing bookmarks is easy also.

I don't trust a lot of web browsers anymore..I might try this out though.

Internet Explorer (originally) was crap on my laptop, then I moved to Firefox, which started off good and eventually turned to crap, and then I moved to Safari, where the address bar got deleted magically, so it turned to crap. Now I am using Google Chrome, and I am happy.

But hopefully IE9 will stop the tradition of Internet Explorer sucking.

I think it did. Its basically a steroid enhanced version of Chrome. Its not as fast (it comes extremely close on my computer) but it is more powerful.

yeah, i'll stick with FF, even if IE is better.

all my favourites and bookmarks are on here, all my add-ons, all my passwords

also i've tried it, and at the moment it is horrible. it always asks me to disable add-ons to get it to start in less than 20 seconds, and it is very slow on my computer compared to firefox

I'm staying with Chrome. Its the fastest browser.

Oh Now theres a Google Chrome ad.

For me its faster than firefox, but everyones computer is different so whatever floats your boat. I'm not a fanboy when it comes to these things.

Actually the latest version of Opera is the fastest.

yh, opera takes less than a second to load for me (and i also like that even offline from the internet it will display what was on the page last time you looked at it, very useful for homework). but unlike alot of people, i don't think 1-5 seconds is an unreasonable loading time, just play sonic 06 or crash: wrath of cortex and you will apreciate internet loading times

Hmmm I'll try It, Firefox Is use full for me cus some sites I need for school won't run on opera so i need firefox But I'am happy with what i use
