It's a really cool foreshadowing in kh2 how it should riku and kairi disappear but in kh2 sora disappeared.

i dont think it was foreshadowing so much as meant to be symbolic of sora losing his friends and trying to find the across the first game

    Yeah, I was thinking that too! I don't think Kingdom Hearts 2 was setting it up all those years ago to be foreshadowing, but it still works as foreshadowing either way.
