Its hard to say, from all accounts, Disney seems fairly easy to work with when it comes to Kingdom Hearts

Its usually square getting in its own way

I heard it was cause since the scope of the world's is bigger now, developing them takes longer

And since the movie teams for the more recent movies are still around and active in the company, they wanna play a part in the development

One of the reasons 3 took so long not many talk about is cause Pixar took literal years to communicate effectively with Nomura on how to implement their stuff
