Ff13 reused animations across the board tho

It makes no sense

They all had access to the same classes

I can't remember the term they used in that game

Better that than just having 1 playable character

beyond that, it's easier to program turn-based characters simpIy cuz weII

I mean I don't disagree but making them all fully unique also takes time

Maybe this is me being a fan of Yakuza but I'm significant fine with reused animations if it means unique characters.

That's the thing tho

Unique characteristics in gameplay means not reusing animation

Which will take a lot of time and testing to make work

I'm just saying on the list of game design issues, that should be the least of their worries.

And the more characters there are the more time it will take

I mean in a perfect world sure but it's not that easy

then take the firetrucking time to do it you're Goddamn Square Enix you make profit without even trying

I know it's time consuming and not easy

I want more playable characters, I hope with the success of this remake that Square will do that in the next mainline games

That's still no reason to not do it

But modern games does take lots of time

And that wont change

At least anytime soon

It's like the whole thing about 2D vs 3D animation, everyone says they want 2D animation to come back without even realizing it takes 4X the work and twice the budget.

It's still worth it though.

But like I said in a perfect world that would be great but there are a lot of factors that has to be taken into account too

cait sith's animations are probably a big effort because they have to animate two characters

Budget, time, developers, ideas, implementing them, testing them, implementing again and again until it somewhat works
