I guess? The issue if you even can call it that is that this is part 2 of an already finished story, so there won't be much plot. It will mostly just be stuff leading up to it.

16 has one finished story from beginning to the end

I feel like the "mystery" around Sephiroth doesn't work in Rebirth because when he appears he doesn't really do anything or the game doesn't explain shit and it takes ages to get to the og story beats

Also haven't felt like an overload has happened yet, like at the end of 16 where it just chucks stuff at you constantly

But I am also on chapter 12 so might change later

it's also weird that they immediately drop certain plot points.

like when hojo is an ass towards the captain but we never really see the reactions of the captain

oh let me say one thing before I get flamed for my take again. I don't think Rebirth's story is in any form bad. It's probably a 9/10 for me so far while XVI is a 9.5/10 for me. I have played games with way worse stories. If Rebirth would genuinely have a terrible story I would quit or not even talk about it

also even if the ending is absolutely firetrucking terrible and turns out to be the antichrist of FF7 og fans it won't prevent me from still liking the story because I absolutely do not care about the Nojima bullshit

I would probably like it even more then because he creates fandom drama for the next 2 years

I care more about if Gi lore is in FF7 than I care about the ending tbh
