Hard Mode was everything is limited resources
so if you firetrucked up a placement in the beginning it was basically over

I honestly legit was doing fine minus some hiccups and combat challenges but the boss fight I mentioned earlier clapped my soul bro 😭 I felt under-leveled. Under-skilled.* Under*developed.

I quite liked Dynamic until then..

I've only done the first part of it but they told me the story from it was "very interesting." We're really into theorizing and geeking out over lore so, I trust their word on it. Mostly.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was bad or anything and I did like it

Not sure about very interesting though but maybe that's just me

Well when it started and immediately showed

Tseung

showed up I was like "ah, ok."

They're a real big fan of that character and Them Turk boys 😔

Really likes Rufus for some reason too.

Yeah.....

What were your guys thoughts on the game up to where I'm at? Chapter 9 seemed to be the point where the game finally stopped screwing around

Plot wise.

it hasnt pissed me off just yet, but Im sure thats gonna change during endgame

yeah....

I'll say, I genuinely like the way they did the open world in this game

Not too big, mostly, not too spread out, just enough stuff to do, and like walking around.

All looks pretty good too

I wished there was more to do in the world, cause doing everything now just makes it feel doing the same thing over and over again
Got bored pretty fast

Theres not enough variety

There could be more I definitely agree, but tbh, I'd rather there be enough interesting things that I enjoy doing than too many things I don't like doing

Like that's one of the reasons I grew away from a lot of Open World games- too much stuff to do, not a lot of it interesting

Horizon is ok at it but a game like Days Gone for instance, or even a shorter one like Ghostwire Tokyo

Ghostwire is like a 8-12 hour plot but a close to 50 hour open world and when I figured that out I wanted to scream 😭

The sidequests helps with making each area feel a bit varied so it's not just the same checkpoints all the time

It's a fine open world, not the worst I have played

I still enjoyed the game alot up to this point, although (chapter 9 spoilers)

Tifa's lifestream sequence in there was a bit odd. Not her going through her own memories but just the whole black and white whispers thing and the new weapons

I have so many feelings about that but I don't think I can fully comment on them yet since clearly that's gonna come back later and you're done with the game.

I'll just say this

The Weapons being awake is genuinely for me one of the more interesting/scarier aspects of the game.|| And I don't know for sure obviously but ||I thought Shinra was there to get the Huge Materia early.

So for now, I'm still intrigued; invested.

I hope it stays that way lol

Oh yeah I do love

how the weapons are playing a part earlier along with the huge materia

One thing I legitimately like over the OG

They were cool but felt kinda tacked on. Shinra's extra presence is appreciated too

I'll be honest I kinda freaked out when I realized

holy shit what do you MEAN Palmer boss fight RIGHT after Dyne???

That was an interesting twist lol

I was looking forward to seeing him

get hit by the truck with his silly ray gun 😔

I didn't like that part as much

because I wanted it to linger on Barret for a while longer. Still a fun fight though but it did ruin the moment

Like you go from Barret shouting his lungs out after his best friend just died to a ridicilous mech boss fight

I did love Dyne's mental breakdown though. Wasn't a big fan of his death, I prefer the cliff fall more than going out in a blaze of glory. Otherwise I did love that segment

man when I saw the boss arena of dyne I thought that he's gonna survive because there was no cliff. I was so convinced that Barret would talk no jutsu him

Yeah, and like, to the point I have* to question if it was intentional and not *just questionable writing.

They just left him kneeling there dog 😭 like bro that scene actually got me to cry and you immediately do that what?

I'm 50/50 cause it was cool but the part I don't like is

it felt like it was trying to allude to Zack again.

I think if

Palmer was cut out and you just have the turks come in, it could have still worked. Linger on Barret being out of comission for a while thanks to shock and just escape

Not seeing the connection here

It was a great segment

Exactly, then he pulls himself together or with the help of his friends, then you can

have the old whacky fat man give intense chase.

I watched a few years ago one of my friends playing that segment in og and they were confused by it because it felt so rushed. So I was really happy that the scene was longer and gave more context

my favorite part of the entire sequence

was the scene were Barret tries to save Dyne and Scarlet shots them

She's been great so far, I was expecting more from

Heidegger|| but tbh, I was also from ||President Shinra

too, so, oh well lol

Only thing I'm close to disliking tho.....

why the firetruck is Glenn here.

And PROMINENTLY too.

He's a Kingdom Hearts character now

true
