Adding even more confusion to the issue, Nomura said that Riku and Sora's stories are different. They don't have the same goal, and they'll encounter different bosses ok so now that you have read this i think i know how thats posible at the point of change the story changes accordingly for example you changed at (example world) port royal so now you meet Jack Sparrow and now you will meet Captain Barbossa as the boss and if you didnt change you would meet a diffrent boss because of that its kinda like megaman battle network 4 the tournaments where randomly chosen instead of the people being chosen for the programed storyline so what do u think

The only theory i have about the character switching is with Ansem and Xemnas. Since Nomura said that you switch at random during gameplay, then maybe the final boss is Ansem AND Xemnas and you switch between them when you switch between Sora and Riku. That actually sounds kinda cool.

Interesting. This is what I thought. I think that it'll happen like that.

I hope Nomura has a very special plan up his sleeves.

My question is that when you switch back and forth, do you pick up directly where you left off? Or when you go from Sora, to Riku, back to Sora, will Sora be exactly where you left him, or will he be somewhere completely different as if AI took over. :/ THAT would be annoying.

I still think that maybe sora and riku will actually be fighting each other but not realize it and that may be the point of the test. Even though its been said that the test is only a part of the whole game.

I was thinking that same thing, to be honest. But half way dismissed it.

Well I read that the theme for KH3D was trust, so maybe before you start rapidly switching between Riku and Sora, that Yen Sid tells them that the challenges that await them may be an illusion and they must trust each other, plus I think did read somewhere that the Sora we know will not be the same Sora that we expect him to be by the end of the game.

Nomura either said 'It's not Sora with which we are familiar' or 'It's the THE Sora with which we are familiar'

That one word can drastically alter the meaning of the sentence.

He also said there would be a twist that would change the way you think about Kingdom Hearts up till that point.
