I just had a HUGE breakthrough! Xion, Namine, and Kairi are connected. Think: When Kairi's heart became trapped inside Sora, Namine was born. She was imprisoned in Castle Oblivion and used by the Organization. She was forced to trap Sora in Castle Oblivion and manipulate his memories to create Xion. Xion is made up of Sora's memories, INCLUDING his memories of Kairi. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Namine says to DiZ that Xion had no face, but because she met Roxas who is connected to Sora, her face formed to that of Kairi's, just slightly altered. SO, Xion is connected to Kairi because she has Kairi's face made from the memories she was created with. She is connected to Namine because Namine is Kairi's Nobody, and they all have the same eyes, another way they may be connected. Comment your thoughts!

Technically, Xion never forged with Roxas, after she was defeated she disintegrated or something and merged back into Sora's heart, and then Riku and DiZ came after Riku defeated Roxas and put him in this alternate world where Roxas doesn't know who he is (at least as a Nobody) and lives there to eventually merge with Sora and awaken him.

can this even be considered as a theory? it's obvious they are connected.

Really? I thought Nomura said that she did. It's supposedly because of her merging with Roxas that he learns to dual wield.

Well, yes. But he could dual wield I think mostly because now that Xion was gone, her Keyblade had no master, and because Xion is connected to not only Sora but also Roxas, he was then able to Dual Wield.

no its because when she was defeated a second keyblade grew in ven's heart allowing roxas to dual wield

Heres there connection. Kairi is Sora's friend. Namine, is Kairi's nobody, from when she got her heart stolen and transferred to Sora's. Xion is Sora's memory of Kairi except transferred over to her from Roxas stolen memories. Xion however, no loonger exists in the KH series because she is forgotten when she was returned to Roxas and Sora.
