I'm in pain. My jaw in the back of my mouth started hurting and my dad said I'm growing a wisdom tooth. Does anybody know what that is?

They're just extra teeth. Most people eventually get them removed via surgery.

aww ull be ok! wisdom teeth are extra set of teeth. they get taken out if they get impacted. but if there's enough room to grow, they keep them there! but it will hurt when they keep growing /:

take some tylenol or maybe buy some orajel to relieve the pain! hope u feel better (:

Wisdom Teeth grow in the very back of your mouth and they're just an extra set of teeth that most people need to get taken out before they grow in fully due to the fact that they can cause problems with your other teeth and even your jaw. If you're having pain and you and your family are sure it's your wisdom teeth you should consult to a dentist and he will help you understand it a bit more. If yours are just starting to grow in it's much better to get them out when they're undeveloped rather than waiting until they're more fully grown in, which would make the surgery a bit more of a hassle. But don't worry too much. A lot more people have to get them out than you might think. The surgery did take my siblings about a week to recover from it, but it's worth it to go ahead and try to get the surgery than to leave them be and cause worse problems down the road.

wisdom teeth are like appendixes, little bits of your body that you just don't need and can cause you lots of pain.

get them removed, and your mouth should be fine after around a week.
