tutti frutti. I know that there are a number of threads like this but just wanted to get this out of my system...moving on. From a recent thread that co-member of this site, dusk, posted, this question has been bothering me today and I have just have to get it out there. Dusk's thread had the idea of if the remakes of KH1FM and KH2FM being converted to PS3, which had me thinking. Even though SE is working on FFVXIII, along with other projects, this had been bothering to the point of annoyance. (Dusk's thread is Forum > KH Series > General > KH 1 and 2 in HD to ps3)

Now my question is this: Why release two of remakes (KH:RE COM & KH:RE Coded) and not release the remaining remakes of the series? When a gamestop employee informed me that KH:RE COM was coming to PS2, way back when, I was glad for all of 10 seconds when he broke to the news to me that KH2FM wasn't included, since it was included with the Japanese Version.

Though I know that it's the decision of someone above Nomura, especially with the work that they need to get done, but why release two remakes outside of Japan, and not the rest. I'm sure that there's a number of others out there who would want to get their hands on these games, along with myself, without having to learn another language in order to play them or get an english patch. I wouldn't mind having some of the extra content to tide me over until future games come out.

Thanks for inspiring the question Dusk.

Because strictly speaking, the Final Mixes are not remakes, simply expansions provided to the Japanese populace to satisfy their dissatisfaction with the extras we get in our versions of the games.

However I agree with you mostly. While I would like to have an english version of said extras, it really isn't all that big of a deal learning to cope with the Japanese text. Simply use the different commands a few times to get used to which is what, and you'll be fine.

But still, I would enjoy if in the future we did receive the extras the Final Mixes have (perhaps for the anniversary surprise Nomura has planned?).

Well, you should know, Re:CoM only made it to the US, nowhere else. That was because the US complained enough that Square Enix saw a profit in bringing it to the US, but not anywhere else. As for Re:coded, it was a remake of a game that didn't exist outside of Japan and they wanted the fans to have it.

As for Final Mixes, they are just something that was for Japan only.

As Nomura said, the only reason COM was remade to PS2 was because it wasn't in 3D, hence 358/2 days not being remade because that was in 3D. Coded was remade because it was only on Japanese phones(and give to us fans). Nomura also said no more remakes(for obvious reason). He also said he had something planned in 2012, so it could be anything.

The Final Mixes aren't remakes, they are the U.S. versions of the game that have extra content that America got and Japan didn't(Japan gets more extra stuff now), just in Japanese. How about it's a company decision since they think the Final Mixes wouldn't sell well in America(who would buy a game they already have just for extra content unless they can sell it).

Especiall where there's DLC. If they turned FM into a DLC extra thing, then it would sell.

tutti frutti. COM and Re:Coded I can understand. COM seeing as how not many, though hard to believe, may have been willing to go out and buy a GBA for the game, especially if they have a PS2 for KH1 and KH2. Also, RE: Coded since even less fans would have had access to the game unless they had a specific phone in order to get the game, as well as allowing us to better understand what happened in the game.

Though if SE was going to gamble the "Re:" versions of the series, they could very well do DLC, or even put the games on a single disc like the god of war collection. A number of games, in general, have the potential of selling or not selling well, with or without extra content, that video game companies put out there in hopes of selling. SE could go off of the number of reserves of the final mixes, or have some alternate idea on whether or not to release them outside of Japan. How many people have already bought the Japanese version of the games, despite whether or not they are the original, the Final mixes, or the Re: versions of the game? Sure, there are those who can't read/speak Japanese and do what TerranortXIII said and cope with the text and, I guess, go off of trial and error if the person has enough patience and time. (No offense to TerranortXIII with a good idea, but I'm not the type of person to do this for video games in another language)

I would like to see Nomura be allowed to release these games for the anniversary of the KH series, which I think is something to look forward should he go through with this. It kind of feels like that the rest of us are being left out of enjoying the extra content.

Supposing they DID make Final Mix games available to countries other than Japan in some form, I would hope they wouldn't make them as basically the Final Mix redone in the language appropriate to the country its going to, I'd just want them to stick in all the extra features that the Final Mixes had into some sort of, well, I'm not entirely sure how to explain it, I just wouldn't really want to have to play the entire game over again to play each thing, but, we will see what happens, though my guess is that Final Mixes won't be available to anyone other than the Japanese, I could be wrong though.

And that is one of the reasons why the Final Mixes will never sell outside of Japan. They don't mind playing a game over again just to get a few extra things, while most others wouldn't want to have to go through all that again, just for some extra stuff.

Just so you know, you can't just 'Make' Final Mix a d DLC. A game needs to be made with the DLC in mind (Remember that Nomrua original said there would be no Final Mix)

And the thing about the other remakes is that while Final Mixes add new bits and pieces, Re:Coded and Re:CoM are complete overhauls. In particular, considering Coded never made it outside of Japan in the first place I don't really see how you can even use it as part of the argument. The Re:CoM is the most low budget KH game to be bought stateside, and a full on remake of a 2D game that nobody ever played that sells for 30 bucks is bound to sell more than a 50 dollar game with bonus features.
