It's self explanatory. What's the point of liking something if you can't dislike it? I want to give crappy post the negetive rep they deserve. Sure it can be abused but so can liking a post.

Sorry, but gonna have to say no. People feel terrible about themselves when they get rated down, and that leads to a negative experience and drives people away from the site, blah blah. We want a positive experience, so we've disallowed that kinda thing. Not perfect, but I think it's the best option. However, we will allow you to voice your negative opinions to users in private (PMs, chat, etc) rather than in public.

i was happy with the decision to remove negareps with the old rep system, but i think with this new one it would be very good. the way the rep works now is basically facebook like and dislike buttons, so i think it would work well

I understand people can take things the wrong way. Maybe to stop abuse a person can only give 1 negative rep to a person a month? I'm not sure if it is possible but I think that would be the ideal option. Plus telling someone off in a PM or chat could be more harmful than a simple number drop. I won't push this too much because it is a trivial matter but I just want to see if it is possible to return negative reps, even if giving them can't be done a lot.

I would love to have negatives back, but that's clearly not going to happen, sadly. At the very least, can we have some kind of rating system that allows us to do something OTHER than give people thumbs up? It kinda defeats the point of giving users their own reputation if it can only go up. Can we at least bring neutrals back?

I like the new rep system better than the old. This is a Kingdom Hearts forum, not a place to make people feel bad (and like DChuich has said that drives some people away from the site). Also when you give someone a negative rep you're likely to get one back then a whole argument starts and I'm sure you wouldn't really be in the mood to argue with someone over something not worth arguing.

The negative reputation system started fights not only in profiles but also in public and we had several members send messages to us asking if we could delete the negative ratings on their profiles and vice-versa. We do not encourage fighting here at KH13 and like what Razorwind said above, it drives some people away and we do not want any members feeling negatively about themselves. If you believe a post or member is causing problems then that is what the report system is for. The new "upping post system" is by choice, you do not have to like the post and it defeats the purpose of getting a negative reputation system back, because you can either like a post or not, and by not "upping" it then it means you may not have liked the post in the first place, so just let it be and if it crosses the line then report the post/member.
