Walking into school, Lin Verona went to her locker and pulled out the things that she needed for her first class. When she saw someone new come into the school and went into the main office. She wasn't all to curious about the person, mainly becuase new people were coming into the school since the year started. She made her way to class and it went by fast. By the time she was on her way to her next class she found the student again, this time heading to a class.

 

Lin had just gotten out of her biology class, and was heading to her music class. She stopped by her locker to get her things that she'll need for her class. When got to her class and took her seat the class felt like it was going slow for her. She jot down notes in her notebook for the first half hour of class then she got up and went over to the piano and played the music that was required for her to play. She looked around the room and saw three other students who were feeling just like her. The class was half way over by the time that she saw the new student enter the room. The teacher had directed him over to a seat and the student took out his guitar then started to play the pieces of music that the teacher had given him.

 

When the class was over, Lin headed to her locker and put things away and headed off to lunch. she went over to her usual spot to eat, but then noticed the new studen was eating by himself. So she got up from her seat and went over to him.

 

"Hi,I'm Lin...what's your name?" she greeted.

Sanchez sat at lunch alone eating his peanutbutter and jelly sandwhich. He was eating it and finished eating but had plenty of time left. Sanchez pulled out his Ipod and started to sing along with some music until he saw people starting to stare his shyness caught up with him. Sanchez built up the nerve and kept singing the song "The man who can't be moved" by the Script. He then saw a girl walking up to him so he stopped singing he was scared she was going to complain and insult him but she didn't she greeted him with saying "Hi, I'm Lin" Sanchez looked at her

 

"Hi Lin, I'm Chase but you can call me Sanchez" Sanchez said

Mark, another new kid, with his lunch, was looking for a table to eat his lunch at. All the tables seemed to be full of people like, the geeks, the the jocks, the cheerleaders, etc. He noticed a small table with only two people at it.Why not. He thought. So he walked over to the table and sat down. "Hi.......I'm Mark." he said to the other kids.

Daniel wasn't new to school but nobody knew anything about him so everyday he would sit at a table by himself, drumming with fork and spoon to any song he could think of, but today he wanted some people to talk to so he got up and walked over to the new kid "hey im Daniel" he said.

Sanchez saw this kid walking up them and saying what his name was. Sanchez stuck out his hand and said "Nice to meet you Chris I'm Chase but you can call me Sanchez" Sanchez shook his hand and sat back down at his table. He kept listening to his song and just kept huming to the music and listened as everyone spoke. Sanchez looked across the lunch area and saw a kid drumming with his forks and walking towards them, he thought it was wierd how him and 3 other people we meeting for the first time, was it fate? Sanchez thought

"Nice to meet you both, Schanez and Chris." Lin stated. then turned to Chris realizing that she hadn't introduced herself to Chris. "I'm Lin."she added as she sat down. "What did you guys think about the music class today, huh? I found it to be long." She continued, then she paused as she started to eat her lunch.

Mark looked at Lin and said, " It was dull i dont even think we need that class anymore." He contiued to eat his food.Hope that didnt make me hated He thought.

"im not really sure all i do in that class is sit in the back and listen to my ipod" said Daniel as he was drumming to "Everylong by The Foo Fighters".

Sanchez looked at them and felt really awkward because he loved music class. He loved to play piano and to sing, he wrote many of his own songs. Sanchez looked at them then back down at his ipod that was still playing. He looked at the screen on his Ipod and saw the song on it called "True Colors" Sanchez looked back up he didn't want to say that he liked it but that would be him lying to fit in so he decided to just speak up "I actualy like music class its my favorite class" Sanchez said looking at his peers

"WHAT?!" Daniel said while choking on his soda. "Music class is soo dry when it comes to music, i mean all they teach u is to listen to music, and play instruments that nobody uses!!!" Daniel said still coffing from his choking incident earlier.

"Sorry bro but I like music of all kinds so I love music class it isn't boring to me but yall can have your own opinion I'm just staiting mine." Sanchez said as he fiddled with his Ipod listening to everyone else was saying about the music they liked or disliked. Sanchez threw his lunch away then came back he was wondering if it had to be fate bringing them together at this point or waht else it could be.

"I like music but not the class, I mean I play the electric guitar, but they way they teach you makes playing boring." Mark said to everyone. "I just love music, but not the class."

"Oh ok I can see your view on the matter but me being a singer I like to know different techniques and the class teaches me dynamics and many other things like that. I would like to learn guitar but I'm more of a singer." Sanchez looked down at his Ipod and saw the time they still had quite a while to lunch was over but Sanchez was ready for music class which was his next class

"i just wish they would have a music class that let us listen to good music" said Daniel thoughtfuly

"Yeah, I agree. I'm getting tired of this classical music. I like the Genre, don't get me wrong. But what about doing something modren for us kids. You know what I'm saying right?" Lin asked after a few bites of food. Then an idea struck her. "Hey guys....I judt got a brillaint idea...." Lin stated as everyone looked at her. "What if we start our own band here in school? I mean, we could play our personal instruments and hold little concerts for the rally's...we'll have to come up with a name though, but at least we'll be playing with our instruments. What do you guys think about that?" Lin then looked down at her phone and saw that lunch was almost up. She got up and threw away her trash and went back to the table.

Sanchez listened to the idea "I can sing and play piano" Allen said "Mark you said you play electric guitar you could do it" Allen looked at the others "Daniel you look like you can play drums since you've been air drumming this whole time, but Lin what do you play" Allen then thought for different band names. Allen thought one up "HEy what about Forsaken Youth, because Forsaken means abondened, we are youth who were abondened by other people because really we all were pretty much sitting alone, so my band idea is Forsaken Youth" Allen suggested

"i like the name" Daniel said looking around at everyone "so when are we going to start practicing? also if we need a place to practice i could get my parents to let us play in my garage." daniel said smiling. "but now the problem is the gig's anyone have any idea's to be able to play some gig's?" said Daniel just as the bell rang for people to go to their fifth period class “well let’s talk after school ok?” Daniel got up and when to his fifth period Spanish class.

Sanchez reached into his bag and pulled out this paper. "Band needed" was written on the top. "They were handing these out in my apartment which is next door to a pizza place and they want a band they are holding a little talent show for people to be there and play, why not give it a shot?" Sanchez said looking at his future bandmates. He looked at them and waited for replys on the name and the band name and gig ideas.

"Sure lets give it a try." Mark said looking forward to the gig. He had never played infront of people though, so he was really siked. "So when can we starts practicing?" he asked. "I want to practice as soon as possible." He continued.

"Actually, I play the piano...and i could sing also. But I'll sing the backups, if you like...and i don't mind sharing the instrument either." Lin then looked down at her watch. "I got to go, lunch is almost up and I need to be clear across campus for my theater class."She then got up, grabbed her bag. "the name is perfect, I like it very much." She stated and then walked off in the direction of where the auditorium is at. When she got there the bell rang to start class, Lin was thinking over what had happened at lunch and started drawing the design of the name in the margins of her notebook as she was taking notes. halfway through the class, she got up and did her assigned piece for the class.The bell then rang for the end, though the last time that she had looked at her watch it was only ten minutes into the class.As she was walking out of the class Lin was caught up in a daydream about the band that she automatically had placed together with other students. she was so caught up that she was late by five minutes to her last class for the day.

"Hey it'd be cool if we shared the mic and you can have piano, I just thought just in case I could do it for the band. But yeah guy in girl singers usualy rock with bands." Sanchez said as he grabbed his bag and left he got to choir class just starting to get nervous about the band he then realized they needed to find a time to practice and what day. Sanchez figured they could come up with a day after school

After class was over, she spotted Mark and the others over at the table where they all had meet and went over to them. "Hey guys,I was thinking over a few things during class and I thought that I would run them by you first. First I took in the thought of what you had said before we all left for class, Sanchez. I like the idea. We could alternate with each song we sing or if you like we could have our own songs and have a few of them in a row...know what, I just realized how stupid that was. how about this instead...we sing whatever song we like to sing as long as we both have a chance with the mic." Lin said. she then took out her notebook and opened it up to where she had drawn some designs in the margin. "Alright, during class I was designing what our name could look like. "We could have it just plain, or we could have it stand out like it is on here..." she pointed to one that had a colored background- the color is black- and the writing of 'Forsaken Youth' in spiked writing-looks like the kind you see on the title of Harry Potter- "or we could have the band name in cursive with it almost blending in to the drum head." She added as she pointed out the one that she had talked about. " I like them all, but it's up to you guys on what will be going on the drum head for our band. So what do you think?" she paused for a short while then added. "If you guys don't like any of them I could always come up with some new ones or we all could come up with our own and combine them. I am not really picky on what it looks like. I just thought that this was a good idea."

"Alright yeah taking turns is good and we could always do a duet whenever we want but I don't know what you sound like but at practice we can work it all out. And I like them I really like the one with spiked letters" Sanchez said "We can also practice at my house I checked with my parents during class so whenever you guys want to do something we can anytime. I'm all ways free"

"Sounds great, I'm a good singer...with practice I'm sure I'll be a great singer. A duet is always a nice way to show talent among us whether its vocals or inrstrumental. The practice should tell us our strengths and weaknesses, but we could always make our weaknesses stronger. That was a good move on your part, now that we have a place to practice we need the day and time to practice." Lin said. "Now that part is covered, i would like your guy's input on the design of our name." Lin said as she turned away from Sanchez and looked at the others.
