There are 3 big pieces of info that I'm sure everyone is going to be talking about for this reveal.
1st. Metal Gear Solid 1 is NOT part of the collection. Most people generally regard this as the best in the series, and it's probably the one most people want remade (since Twin Snakes is generally disliked by fans, though I liked it). I guess the logic is that MGS1 is already on the Playstation Store, and that upgrading a PS1 game to HD would be harder and not look as good in the end, but it's still a shame, though I can live without it.
2nd. It is being released on PS3 AND 360. Now it is a FACT that this is going to cause a war within the ranks of the Sony and Microsoft fanboys, there is no point in denying this. Quite frankly, I fail to see how this is a bad thing. More people get to play it, more new fans will get into it, Konami gets more money, and they in turn make more games. It's a situation where everyone wins, but people are going to try and make it out as a situation where everyone loses, and that's crap.
3rd. Peace Walker is going to be in the collection. Sony had already announced that they were going to HD upgrade some of their PSP games for the PS3, and off the bat, almost everyone knew that Peace Walker was going to be a part of this. This is great, because Peace Walker is actually one of the best Metal Gear games to date! It did not preform well, though, because of ONE thing: it was on the PSP. Now everyone will get to play it, and that's awesometacular.
So what do you think of this upgrade? Will you pick up the collection on PS3 or 360? What are you looking forward to the most? Let me know.
For any Metal Gear fans on this site, I have news that will probably make you quite happy.
Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear, has announced in Konami's pre-E3 event that... well, I'll let the man himself say it.
