Its been well over a year since I've made an amv, but if anyone here who is experienced in Sony Vegas could help me it would be much appreciated.

I've started work on a KH amv that uses the song "Out of Control" by Hoobastank. I have all the clips laid out the way I want, but I'm stumped when it comes to the media generators. Im still new to the program so the only one I have any vague knowledge about is how to create coloured lightning. I don't know what sort of effects would be suited to a song like this, full of powerful beats and such. But there are so many I don't know where to begin.

Sorry, I only know Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Whatever-The-Flip-It's-Called.

what song is it?

I can list down a few effects you can use for a song like that. Let me list down a few tutorials that I found for you in youtube.

Fade in/out -

Speed up/Slow down effect -

Cookie Cutter -

3D effects - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8sAICHJAfc

Event, pan, crop tool -

(ITS A MUST!)

Since you've made AMV's before, you can try experimenting the Transitions. You'll be using alot of flash since "Out Of Control" has alot of beats but with cookie cutter you can create an entirely new effects for the beats with this tool instead of the flash effect that flashes the entire screen. The Event, Pan, Crop tool will be the tool that you will be using the most because it can move and zoom in/out your video clips. It can also do the earthquake effect so try it out. I won't recommend you to use the masking effect since you're still new but If you want to, you can try it out as well.

Sony Vegas takes awhile to know around but after experimenting the transitions, effects and all. You can really edit the videos the way you want it. So good luck making your videos. You may feel alittle bit frustrated while making the video but it will turn out great in the end.
