Batman: Arkham City Riddler Trailer

Posted

So we have another character trailer for Arkham City, but it may not have been for anyone you were expecting a trailer for. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Riddler.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJMXFxug0DY&feature=player_embedded

So what's made clear about this trailer is that Edward Nigma has decided that this time around, he's going to take a more direct approach in testing Batman's mind, and making the stakes of his riddles even greater, which could make him one of the major antagonists of the game this time around, rather than a diversion to the main game. However, one Youtuber named CheesyGranola (which I declare to be the most badass user name ever) was extra observant, and managed to find this in the trailer.

"

The trailer flashed words with numbers in them, the words are as follows:

pup(1)pet Kee(18)p wh(2)at t(5)o Shar(8)p t(13)his doe(5)s m(1)e a(20) i(20)t Ridd(9)le str(2)ing? t(20)ake o(14)n Str(15)ange

Rearranged they spell out -

Ridd(9)le m(1)e t(13)his wh(2)at doe(5)s i(20)t t(20)ake t(5)o Kee(18)p a(20) Shar(8)p pup(1)pet o(14)n (25)a Str(15)ange str(21)ing?

If you correlate the numbers to the alphabet, it spells out: I am better than you"

So first, props to this guy for being such a keen eye. And now for analysis. For those of you who are annoyed by numbers, the sentence says "Riddle me this: What does it take to keep a Sharp puppet on a Strange string?" This could possibly mean that Quincy Sharp, the warden of Arkham Asylum, is being held captive by, or possibly working with Dr. Hugo Strange. And the phrase 'I am better than you'... that's just the Riddler being a dick.

So what did you think of the trailer? Are you excited for Arkham City? Why, or why not?

baylaust out.

This trailer is awesome. It will be interesting to see how these new riddles play out. Especially if there is more to it then just medals.

As for the game in general, I'm psyched up and ready for it to be out already.

As for why, tis simple. This is the squeal to the best Batman game there is.

I didn't really bother with Nigma in the asylum, but it looks like we'll be having a good ol' time in Arkham City.

And yeah. Riddler's a dick.
