ONWARD TO THE RP!!

"Sir, the invitations have been sent." Said a women

"Hah, good!" A man said.

He stood up, closing his laptop.

"Being headmaster isn't easy." Said the man.

His name is Chris (me)

"Lets set up the main yard for the welcoming festival!" Chris said

"Graaw!" His typhlosion roared in happiness after hearing the word.

"Excited are we typhlosion?" Chris asked

"Raw!" His flames bursted up as he cheered

"Alright then. Let's set up the festival!" He told the secretary

"Yes sir."

Typhlosion gave Chris his microphone.

"Thank you."

"Phah" Typhlosion responded

Chris cleared his throat and turned on the speakers

"Attention teachers, please report to the school park. I repeat. Please report to the school park. It is that time of year again!" Chris said in the microphone

"Graaaw!!"

Typhlosion yelled in the speaker.

"Sir, I just found out that the boats have reached to their posts in all 5 regions, They are now open for boarding." His secretary said

"An... organizer... thanks." Ana took the folder, Blaziken popping the berry in its beak. "I'll be getting my class ready then." She closed the folder, looking to Remus. "And I expect to see you there with everyone else." She tapped Blaziken on the shoulder as she walked by. He nodded to Typhlosion before turning to follow his master.

Ana entered the classroom, putting Chris' folder next to her mess of a briefcase. She wrote her name on the board along with some other information. And now all that was left was to wait for the students...

Ace walked to down the hall. Scyther was out of its pokeball.

"You ready for pokemon health care."

"Scy!"

"Alrighty then."

Remus sat in anticipation. It was his first class, and he was excited. What would he learn? What class was this again? The teacher seemed strict, but not mean. Reminded him of Dad…

Now anticipation gave way to nerves. Was he behind? Did the teacher not like him?

Sensing his stress, Pachirisu sparked him playfully.

“Ouch, that’s right, focus on the positives,” he said.

Well, that guy seemed nice, and the headmaster looked competent. He was a little young, but that made him more relatable, right?

‘Just stay focused on my goal,’ he thought, as he waited for class to begin.

Ana turned from the blackboard to the students. "One... two. well, that's more than Lexi got, and it is time to start, so..." She took a deep breath, pulling out a long metal pointer. "My name is Miss Sarip." She points to the large name on the board. "And this is my partner Blaziken." She points to the pokemon, who nudges th epointer out of his chest. "Oops. Sorry buddy." She whispered.

"Anyways... it is true what the headmaster told you. This is a class about pokemon health care. You will learn about status conditions, ranging from asleep to paralysis. However," she paused. "This is also a biology class. You will not only learn how to care for pokemon, but why they need that care to begin with. Now, I figured that with yesterday's little fiasco, we should start with 'poison'."

"The academy grounds are home to poisonous pokemon, from Spinarak and Ariados to Ekans and even Seviper. All of these pokemon, and many more of course, are capable of poisoning not only your pokemon, but you as well. The status ailment 'poison' slowly drains your pokemon of its energy, sapping its very life away. Given time, it can cause the pokemon to faint or even..." She stopped, taking a deep breath. "And on top of that is an exceptionally potent poison, Toxic. Toxic works at an exponential rate, multiplying its effects every second. If you or your pokemon become envenomed in any way, seek immediate medical attention."

"Any questions so far?"

"No mam" Ace said. he was thinking about where he could find these pokemon. Probably the forest area he thought.

OOC: Read my typing woes in my sig.

The teacher seemed to know her stuff, but Remus wasn't paying full attention. Sure, poison was a good strategy, but it takes a while to kick in. It's near useless in a Contest Battle's five minute time limit.

Remus flipped through the text book in front of him. It had vivid descriptions of all sorts of statuses. He stopped on Burn, which cuts the offensive power of physical oppenents in half. This could be useful, especially for stalling...

Nothing?

"Alright then, moving on to preventing poison. Naturally, poison-type pokemon are resistant to poison, however there are a few others. Zangose and some Snorlax hav a natural resistance to the ffects of poison, making them good pokemon to use if you find yourself in that kind of situation. However..." She trailed off a little. "They're not that easy to catch. Most likely, your best bet would be to use a steel-type pokemon." She turned around, writing "steel" on the board. "All steel-types, like Bronzong, Aggron, and Scizor, are completely immune to poison."

She looked at her students. One seemed to be spacing out while the other flipped through his book. Was this really the best this generation had to offer? She would have to do something...

"Pop quiz!" She grinned menacingly. "What are the chemical components of Arbok venom, and how do you counter it without Antidote?"

"Im not sure what the chemical components are, but I know that Pecha berries can cure the status and some pokemon have a special ability called shed skin" Ace said.

"True, but Shed Skin can be unreliable, and let's assume that you don't have any Pecha Berries. Understanding the specifics of a situation can save your life, as well as your pokemon's." She looked from Ace to Remus. "Well, Mister Coordinater?"

Meanwhile. At his own classroom

"Typhlosion, what time is it?"Chris asked

"....."

Chris starts blushing "i forgot pokemon can't speak....."

Typhlosion flicks chris's arm for forgetting.

"Hey remember when we first met?" Chris asked

"...." Typhlosion can remember it all

Chris is only 9

During night time he hears something.

He meets an abandoned cyndaquil. it's still a young cyndaquil to be honest. Chris found him stealing food from his small pecha garden back at Celadon city.

"Hey....are you ok?" Chris asked

"Cynda!" Cyndaquil runs back behind a trash can.

"....it's ok. I won't hurt you." Chris said

He puts his hand out offering some food...

Cyndaquil looks at Chris's eyes and walks out scared.

His body was black and brown, very dirty, and skinny. It's been abused by it's previous trainer.

'WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING TO A POOR POKEMON!?'

"Cynda.." Cyndaquil is too weak to eat solid pokemon food.

"Hmm... here have some of this, It's a sitrus berry."

Cyndaquil sniffed the berry, smelling the appley, tangy aroma, he bites the firm berry and regains his strength. Cyndaquil fully finishes the berry and starts eating the pokemon food

"Eat up. You need your strength back, while you eat i'll clean you up"

Chris grabs a wash cloth and some soap and starts scrubbing the dirt from cyndaquil's body....He becomes clean again but is still malnourished.

Cyndaquil finishes at least 3 bowls of pokemon food and is back to his regular weight, He falls asleep and Chris picks him up.

"I'll take care of you, i'm not old enough to be a trainer, but my birthday is almost here. When i turn 10 i'll make you my starter pokemon."

Typhlosion looks at chris with a tear falling down.

"Now don't cry! You were young back then! If it wasn't for the berry patch, you wouldn't even be with me." Chris said

Typhlosion starts crying and hugs Chris

"Well...It's not like you to cry typhlosion. Your usually competitive and mature."

They both hug and prepare for the next bell to ring

the bell was just about to ring for the second class and joe and cyndaquil just made it in the door for class he looks at the teacher "sorry miss i was having a little trouble with my Gible after my practice battle with miss Alexia he disided to try out draco meteor then he desided it would be fun for me to run after him"

Alexia satted down in her classroom and on her desk. She brushed Arcanine as Ninetails just rested on the side of the classroom. Arcanine yawned. "I know you're tired my lil Arcanine but you need that coat clean so you don't have trouble with any shading hair."Alexia says as she brushed Arcanine. Arcanine licked her face and Alexia smiled as she brushed him. Right now she didn't had anyone in her classroom neither she didn't had a class to teach,so she brushed her pokemon. Ninetails walked over to the door and slightly pushed it open. "You want to go for a walk?"Alexia asks. Ninetails noded. "Ok,go as you wish. Just be back and don't get in trouble."Alexia says. Ninetails noded and walked around the halls.

“Well, I’m pretty sure that the venom is a mix of Arbok’s stomach acid and saliva. As for a cure, using Aromatherapy or Refresh work on the Pokemon move side, but only the former for another team member. Safeguard and Magic Coat could help ensure the status condition never works in the first place, but the latter wouldn’t work if Arbok used Poison Fang.”

The teacher still seemed to be looking at him sternly. Remus continued.

“Full Heals and Lava Cookies also work very well, as do Full Restores, but they’re expensive and rare. I heard that it was also able to suck the poison from a wound, but this isn’t recommended because people would be poisoned and Poison Pokemon would accidentally cross poison the patient. Quick question; would it be safe for a Steel type to suck poison from a wound?”

"Interestingly," Ana answered. "A steel-type pokemon is only resistant to external poison. If poison is ingested, the effect will come with full-force. And those were some pretty clear answers." She turned from Remus towards the blackboard, drawing a group of connected white lines. "The venom of most snakes, including Arbok and Seviper, consist primarily of phosphodiesterases, a series of proteins and amino acids that break down the prey cardiac system, causing heart failure among other things."

Posted Image

"Now, some pokemon such as Zangoose and some Snorlax are naturally immune to poison. Zangoose have a mutated acetylcholine receptor that won't bind with the poison, rendering them immune to its effects. Professor Birch in the Hoenn region is doing an extended study on this, hoping to find a way to extend this ability to others. Snorlax, however..." She waved her head back and forth. "It's mostly just fat. The poison can't get inside to anything important."

(we learned something! the chemical structure of poison!)

Typhlosion wipes the tears out of his eyes. And starts smiling

They both look at the clock and it's almost the start of the next class!

"Alright typhlosion! I am going through the check list!"

Chris goes through the papers.

"Desks organized?"

"Rah!"

"Papers and Pens?"

"Rah!"

"Little rewards?"

"Rah!"

"Apricorns?"

"Rah!"

"Many types of pokeballs?"

"Rah!"

Everything is in order. They have everything they need

"Alright and the bell rings in 5...4...3...2...1"

The bell rings.

Ace was happy to hear the bell. Pokemon health care had a little to do with battling, but the next class was really about battling.

"Alright, get out!" Ana pointed to the door. "Next up is battle technique. Next class we're covering how to handle poisonous pokemon. Read the book!" She watched the students get out of their desks, sighing mentally. The first day didn't go as bad as she had feared it would...

Remus stood up to leave. The next class would be the real deal. Battle techniques.

'I could use some brushing up on that,' Remus thought to himself. 'My battle rounds are stylish, but not strong enough.'

He wandered out into the hallway and looked around him.

'Oops, I don't know where to go!'

He turned back around and reentered the classroom.

"Ma'am, which way is it to the next class?"

"Oh, well... I'm going that way anyways. I'll bring you there." Ana shifted some materials on her desk before leading Remus out the door. Blaziken followed behind, closing the room up. "You seem to know your stuff. I like to see that in my students. I was a little suprised, after I heard you were a coordinator.I've never been big on contests myself. Tried once or twice, but only because Blissey wanted to." Ana spaced out for a second. "Oh! Sorry. I was rambling." She laughed a little, embarassed.

They arrived in the gym, Ana opening the door for her student. "Now if you'll excuse me..." She left to find Chris, her partner looking around the enormous room. The last time he had been in here...

His battle with Typhlosion flashed through his mind. Blaziken may have won that fight, but it wasn't by much. He had to become stronger...

"Chris!" Ana finally found the headmaster, Typhlosion predictably by his side. "Could I talk to you about something for a second? It's about the Ariados and Grimer..."

  • Author

Chris turned around as students were still walking in.

"What about Grimer and Ariados?" Chris asked

Typhlosion greeted Blaziken again.

"It's simple. All we need are steel, psychic, and ground types to defeat poison types." He said

"Actually i'm going to be talking about the history of pokeballs." He said as he pulled out a box of different pokeballs and apricorns

Chris patted Typhlosion's head and patted Blaziken's shoulder

"You can stay if you wanna besides class is going to start!"

The bell rung again...

"We can talk about those guys later, besides, grimer live in the swamp in the forest, and ariados live in the forest. They never come out of there. But i promise we will discuss it. Besides next period is lunch time :3"

Chris took out his planner

"Ok class...Welcome! Just call me Chris! Today we will learn about the history of pokeballs!"

joe took his seat in the class cyndaquil then sat himself up on the table joe rubbed cyndaquils head then hearing what chris said they were going to be working on today joe thought "whats the history of pokeballs got to do with training our pokemon wouldnt that be something more for something like a pokemon history class or something" joe thought as cyndaquil sat still on the desk

"The type of pokeball used is very important." Ana said, walking into the gym. she sat down on one of the bleachers, stretching out. Blaziken shook his head, joining his master. She never failed to make a fool of herself. "Some increase a pokemon's performance, while others can even alter a pokemon's behavior."

She pulled out a Friend Ball. "This is the pokeball that I used to capture a Gible, a usually vicious pokemon. Friend Balls increase a pokemon's ability to... well, relax. After Gible was able to wind down, we became great friends and, well, here we are." She pocketed the ball again." She looked to the headmaster. "Sorry to steal your thunder, Chris."

Grimer and Ariados? Remus shuddered as he sat down in a seat. If there was one thing that he was afraid of, it was things with unusual legs. It was weird, but he abosutely hated anything that didn’t walk on two or four legs, except for birds. Ariados and Grimer fit the bill.

Six years earlier

Announcer: And the next contestant in the Grand Festival is a young boy named Remus Silversword from New Bark Town. He may be only ten, but he has yet to lose a contest. His opponent is Hilbert Hidara from Lilycove City. He…

Backstage, Remus was all ready. His newly caught Scolipede would work great with his Espeon. He sent them both out. ”You guys ready?”

He stepped onto the stage. His opponent had sent out an Octillery and a Ditto. The battle began.

“Alright Scolipede, use Megahorn!”

“Octillery, Whirlpool!”

The entire battlefield was sucked into a whirlpool.

“Guys, get out!” cried Remus. ”Espeon, use Psychic to still the water!”

The whirlpool stopped, with Espeon floating in the middle. But all the other Pokemon flew off. Right into the ten year old boy.

“Ahh!” he screamed, as he tried to shake loose. But all he could feel were the squirming of tens of limbs and slime frantically clawing at him. ”Help!”

Espeon pulled off the Pokemon with Psychic, but the damage was done. Remus ran off the stage crying, right on international television.

Remus squirmed in his seat. His mind was nowhere near the lesson.

’Please let the Poison types not be a problem, please!’ he silently begged.

">.> It's ok Ana" Chris looked at ana but started smiling

"Pokeballs. are very high tech devices my students." Chris said

He pulled out 4 of the main pokeballs that everyone is ready.

"This is a pokeball, the standard, basic pokeball every trainer uses to catch a wild pokemon."

He grabs a blue pokeball

"This is a great ball, it has a stronger catch rate than a regular pokeball, plus it's blue!"

He grabs a black and yellow pokeball next

"This! Is a trainer's best friend, next to the master ball, which only 10 are in existence, 2 are in each ov the 5 regions, this is the only pokeball that a trainer can use when they really want a pokeball right off the bat, but i don't recommened it to rare pokemon."

He pulls out a master ball. How did he get it?

"This i got from a boy named Red. He dropped it and i went to return it to him, but it turns out he doesn't need any more pokemon. He is mostly quiet...." Chris looks down at the master ball.....

"This will catch ANY pokemon with no fail." He said.

"Next we will learn about apricorns." Chris said, He griped his master ball and the box of apricorns.

"I have this master ball locked away with tight security, this master ball will not reach ANY students. If i find this stolen....THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES!" He said as he slammed his fist on Remus's desk

"Sorry remus...Why are you all squirmed?"

"Sir, can we buy pokeballs like the friend ball at the shop?" Ace asked adruptly.
