London releases design for 2012 Olympic Medals

Weighting in at 14 ounces, it is said to be the heaviest medal yet.


British designer David Watkins designed the back of the medal, which incorporated the bulky logo for London 2012 as well as a number of metaphorical features.

I'm not too sure on that. But what our athletes have shown in the Commonwealth Games last year and more recently the 2011 events proves we have a good chance.
