"Final Fantasy Type-0 is a video game for PlayStation Portable which, alongside Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, makes up Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy. Unveiled at E3 '06, the game "[offers] players easy on-the-go access to the Final Fantasy XIII universe." The game was originally announced for mobile phones, but was re-announced for the PSP at DKΣ3713 2008. It is currently unknown if Type-0 will be released overseas." - http://finalfantasy.wikia.com

Release Date : October 13, 2011

Official August Demo Download - http://www.square-en...d/download.html (Works for all psp since this is region-free)

My first impression on the August Demo Build:

This is based on the August Demo build which was recently released on the official website for download. I have no knowledge of japanese but I will try to keep this impression as simple as I can for all of you to understand.

- You started out as Rem. One of the "Class Zero" members. She is a Dagger User. Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, you will finally be able to have Towns and an Over-world map but in my impression, I never get to experience the world map.

- After witnessing and walking through around town, you are needed to go into the main building which will be your hideout (save game, shop, etc...).

- You can change characters that you want to use by going to the save point.

- To access your missions, you need to talk to the moogles (yes there is more than one and they will mostly likely guide you throughout the whole game.)

- After you've had chosen your first mission, you can choose which character you want to use. There are 7 characters you can choose from in this Demo build.

- Before starting your mission, you are to choose which characters you want to use in your party ( Maximum 3 ) and also A summon.

- As for this impression, I've chosen Ace ( A Card Wielder) as my main character and my party members are Rem and Machina ( A Rapier Wielder):

- The mission starts by showing the airship going to the mission destination and its the only time where you get to see the overworld map. The mission is simple. Go from point A to point B.

- Since all of you wants to know more about the gameplay, I will tell you in more detail:

Gameplay:

- I never change any controls but you can in the menu.

- You will be fighting your enemies in real-time.

- NOTE - When you access the menu during your mission, It will still be in Real-time, means enemies will still be attacking you while you are accessing in the menu.

- Holding "R" makes you to lock on to your enemies.

- The cameras are fine but it could still needs work. You need to use the directional buttons to control the camera and pressing "R" centers the camera.

- The battle Animation is very smooth and it impress me the most in this demo build and it is a big step up from FF7:Crisis Core.

- The Battle system is smooth as well. Dodging is smooth and fluid.

- As I'm using my character Ace, "Triangle" is for normal attack, "O" is for summoning my cards (like the image that I've posted above) to either unleashed recover magic and attack magic and the cards are summoned randomly. "[]" is for unleashing your other magic by holding down the button. "X" is for dodging and also holding it down unleashes a barrier. While holding down your buttons, you can still move around while charging so no worries there.

- Your AI partners are quite helpful as they heal your HP and your status as your HP gets low so you don't have to worry about struggling to heal for yourself when you're in a pinch.

- There are a few frame-rate problems to be honest but it should be fine since its just a demo build.

- To be honest, I Haven't tried summoning yet because I was focusing on the character and its fun using your character even without summoning.

- When you defeat your enemies, you can lock on to them and press any of the buttons (square, etc..) to absorb them and recover your MP.

- At the end of the mission, you will have ranks. so like any other game, the higher your rank is, the higher your rewards are.

I believe thats it for my first impression. I'll be getting the japanese ver. since A friend of mine is currently staying in japan and will be buying the game for me before she goes back so yeah. I pretty much looking forward to this game and can sense A lot gameplay hours compared to Crisis Core.

This is only based on my own demo experience. The rest of you can try to download and play the demo and see it for yourselves. It is worth looking into before it comes out in 2 months time.

I'm suprised they put it up on their site. I'm also suprised how long it's taking to download...

Well either way, good find!

I've had enough of FF since Squarenix firetrucked up 11-14. So I wont bother with the new Final Fantasy games anymore and enjoy other RPG. When it comes to FF, Squarenix sucks real bad.

It frustrates me like hell!

I don't think they messed up 11-14, really. XIV is going to be improved anyway. XIII was cool and I'm excited for Part 2. XII was not as fun as some of the other installments to me,but it was worth the money. And XI is a special case like XIV.

Type-0 reminds me of "The 3rd Birthday", but in a good way. They used the same engine for it, and it's just as responsive. Pretty good so far.

I understand how you fell, since FF XI the FF serie its not as good as before but the XIII is not bad (I'm not talking about spinoff like

CC FF 7 or tactics)
