"I see, Impressive." Said Even.

shawn turned to face him.are you being sarcastic shawn asked.he put his blade on his shoulder.

"Oh please if i wanted to be sarcastic you would have known." Leaving Shawn possibly puzzled.

what do you mean i would know he asked staring at even puzzled.

"If i was being sarky or not." Said Even.

ok sir but are you sure i would know he asked staring up at the man.why do i have to be so tiny he thought puting his blade up.

"People aren't calling you a Hobbit are they" Said Even jokingly mocking Shawn

no sir not at all shawn whispered.he looked away quickly trying to stop thinking about being tiny.

"I wouldn't worry about it i i were you being small has its advantages." Said Even.

can you read minds or something shawn asked geting alittle scared.

"No allthough if i did it would either be that or im just guessing." Said Even.

Malsen eyed Shawn with an unfriendly eye, After a little of that, he assumed an uninterested facial pattern.

"Swordsman, uhh?" He asked. "Professionally trained or self taught?"

why does it matter to you shawn asked meanly.he glared at malsen.

Malsen yawned and checked his finger nails.

"You can tell a lot about a swordsman from how they learned to fight." Malsen said casually. "Me? I'm self taught. Every skill I have with a sword is hard earned and tested a million times."

He turned a bored eye on Shawn.

"I'm trying to find out what kinda shipmate I'm most likely getting."

same as you i guess shawn said smiling.he got up and shaked hands with malsen.

"Self taught, huh?" Malsen echoed, taking Shawn's hand reluctantly.

After a second, he shook Shawn's hand with more feeling and a firmer.

"Good stuff. You should be alright."

ok shawn said backing up.he freaks me out alittle he thought.

Malsen smiled as he watched Shawn's reaction.

"Buck up, Shawn." he said, his smile growing. "If your on with the crew, it's not like you can avoid me."

Malsen's smile turned more good natured.

"Besides, I make it a point to give other swordsmen a bit of leeway."

yes sir shawn said geting bucked up.

Malsen gave Shawn a disapproving frown.

"But that 'sir' business out." He said. "I've been offered a job, but I ain't first mate yet."
