Well here is the second last chapter of my fanfic and probably my best action-filled chapter. If you haven't read the whole story then here's the link:http://kh13.com/foru...n-all-chapters/ I advise you to read the whole story first otherwise this will be a SPOILER for you.

Like some of the previous chapters this one also has a link to some music i thought would best suit the paragraph below it. I DON'T OWN THE MUSIC.

 

Chapter 8: Final chapter -part I

 

Ike came walking towards Xiek, his keyblade in hand, hatred on his face. Xiek hit both his keyblades together and after a small flash of light he was holding one keyblade, which was similar to Ike's keyblade but looked like it was the exact opposite! "Lets finish this", Xiek yelled as he ran towards Ike with his keyblade and hit him. Ike blocked the hit and jumped a few feet away. Thunder shot out of Ike's keyblade which Xiek deflected and shot balls of flames at Ike which he dodged.The balls of flames hit the wall behind and made several large holes in it. Ike ran at Xiek and they both hit their keyblades against each other repeatedly until Ike suddenly kicked Xiek. Xiek rolled backwards the moment he hit the floor and got up just in time to see a large ball of black fire come towards him. Xiek jumped out of the way and the dark flames hit the wall behind him and caused a large explosion which destroyed the entire wall. Xiek shot several rays of silver needles at Ike which he blocked.

 

Both of them ran at each other and,again, their keyblades met. Sparks flew as they hit their keyblades against each others in an attempt to hit each other. Ike swung his keyblade with full strength but Xiek dodged it and hit Ike in the face with his keyblade. Ike fell several feet away.

Ike got up,a dark orb was forming on the tip of his keyblade and it began growing bigger and bigger. Xiek knew what Ike was trying to do so he raised his keyblade and a white orb formed on the tip and began growing bigger. Both of them shot out the basketball sized orbs which collided and a huge explosion took place. The explosion gradually grew bigger, until it covered Xiek, Ike, though it did not reach Naomi who was lying down unconscious several feet from Xiek and Ike.

Meanwhile, near the Radiant Guardian castle Yuffie and Leon, along with Tifa had just finished the last of the heartless when they heard a noise and turned to see a large ball of light covering a large part of Maleficent's old castle, and then disappearing.

"Xiek!",Yuffie yelled, worried,"Leon we have to go make sure he's okay".

"We can't, Xiek's doing what he's supposed to,we shouldn't interfere", Leon replied. He looked at the blue mountains outside the Bailey. Not a single Heartless or Nobody was in sight. Xiek had done what he came to do.

 

 

A large dome made of light and darkness appeared near the Twilight town station for a few seconds and disappeared leaving Xiek and Ike standing in it's place, their keyblades in hand. They were breathing heavily. Ike ran towards Xiek and they began fighting again. Slashing at each other, occasionally dodging and blocking each other's hits.Ike immediately shot Xiek with a ball of fire which sent him several feet away, though he landed on his feet. Xiek began spraying ice at Ike who ran towards the bell tower, jumped onto it and was running on it to the top as Xiek continued spraying ice at him, just barely missing him.

Ike suddenly kicked the wall he was running on and was now in mid air with his back turned towards Xiek. Xiek stopped spraying ice and Ike suddenly twisted himself in mid air and was now facing Xiek. Ike shot a very powerful thunder at Xiek who brought his keyblade towards it in an attempt to block it, but the thunder was too powerful and it struck Xiek.The floor around him got destroyed.

Xiek sat on one knee. There were some small fires on his body and keyblade and several electric sparks ran over his body. Ike landed a few feet from him. Xiek got up, some smoke was coming from parts of his body and keyblade. The bell tower remained covered with ice, the ground surrounding Xiek looked like it was bombed. Ike looked exhausted from the energy he used on that thunder and there was some ice on his left shoulder. Again, they ran towards each other, but this time, when their keyblades met ,a large light flashed, they disappeared and everything went dark for a moment.

They were on a large circular platform which was the only thing that was there. It was Kei's "station of awakening". On one side was a boy with spiky brown hair and on the other side of the platform was a boy with black hair.It was Koru and Ramo . Both had their eyes closed and they looked as though they were asleep, except for the fact that both of them had their keyblades lifted up with the tips pointing towards a circular portrait of Xiek on the upper middle of the station of awakening, who also had his eyes closed.The background on the station of awakening looked like destiny islands. Both, Ike and Xiek ran towards each other and their keyblades clashed once more. They broke off again and jumped several feet away from each other. Several Nobody symbols appeared and started floating around Xiek. Xiek jerked his arm towards Ike and one by one all the symbols moved towards Ike. Ike slashed and destroyed every symbol and hit his keyblade on the floor causing several shadow heartless to come out of the floor and fight Xiek. Xiek destroyed them easily and attacked Ike with his keyblade.

Ike dodged every hit, performed a back flip and was above Xiek. Xiek noticed that directly above them was the exact same station of awakening that they were standing on, almost like a parallel world . Upside-down and in mid-air Ike swung his keyblade at Xiek who blocked it with so much force that Ike was sent flying into the air. Xiek jumped into the air towards Ike and their keyblades hit each other's several times while they were heading towards the platform parallel to the one they had just been on. Halfway between the platforms gravity shifted and now Xiek felt as though he was falling. Their keyblades kept clashing until Ike immediately shot a ball of flames at Xiek stopping him in mid-air for sometime while Ike immediately landed on the platform and raised his keyblade horizontally just in time to block a powerful hit from Xiek who came down like lightning.

Xiek jumped a few feet away from Ike and was about to attack when Ike pointed his keyblade towards the air and there was a large flash of light. Everything was white,the platforms had disappeared and Xiek noticed himself standing on a silver staircase which lead to a door. There were several other doors and staircases everywhere, all going in different directions. Xiek noticed one very large door far from where he was standing. That's where he knew he had to go. Several Heartless appeared on the staircase blocking his way to the door. Xiek would have to fight his way to that door.

He attacked and destroyed the Heartless and ran into the door. He reappeared on another staircase, which seemed to be even further away from the large door. He fought more heartless and went through many doors. Finally, Xiek reached a large golden staircase that led right to the large door and ran towards it. He had almost reached the door when on his right a portal opened and another staircase came straight towards him. Fortunately he had seen it and immediately hit it with his keyblade. The staircase shattered like glass and a light flashed. Xiek was standing on another platform, but one that was completely white and was full of Heartless. Xiek began fighting until only one was left. Xiek slashed his keyblade at him and was shocked to see it block his attack with a keyblade.

The Heartless burst into dark flames and in it's place stood Ike. Both of them broke off and stood several feet away from each other.They both jerked their keyblades and white flames appeared covering both the keyblades. They ran towards each other one last time and hit their keyblades with all their strength, causing a huge explosion.

They stood a few feet from each other. Xiek walked towards Ike who had just fallen onto his knees and was slowly fading away. "Congratulations Xiek, you did it", Ike spoke

"You shouldn't have chosen the darkness. That was a big mistake",Xiek said.

"Would it make any difference? We'd still end up fighting",Ike replied.

"Yeah, I guess it doesn't make a difference",Xiek said.

"Well, I guess I should do us a favour", Ike said.

"Yeah, that'd be best", Xiek said as he lowered his keyblade.

Ike pointed his keyblade at Xiek and shot a ray of light through his chest, then faded away. Xiek dropped his keyblade, which disappeared into silver flames along with Ike's keyblade and fell to his knees as he faded away.

Chapter 8: Final Chapter-part II

 

 

 

In the complete darkness stood only two lights-Koru and Ramo."What's gonna happen to us?", Koru asked.

"I don't know, but we can't give up searching for the light. Now that we're back together, we can help each other search for it",Ramo replied.

"Yeah",Koru said smiling.

He opened his eyes, the orange sunlight coming from the huge hole in the wall was covering part of his body. It was sunset. Kei got up, he was slightly confused about what had happened recently. He remembered fighting in this very place, but there were still a few gaps in his memory. He looked around and saw a brown haired girl lying on the floor a few feet away from him. He stared a t her for some time, confused. Then he suddenly remembered. "Naomi!", he yelled as he ran towards her. He lifted her and shook her, she didn't move. He looked around expecting to see either someone who could help him or someone who could at least tell him what had happened. His memory was still taking time to recover and would probably take at least two days to recover completely. Fortunately for him,parts of his memory seemed to be returning every second. He just remembered a large mysterious tower and going there through a dark portal. He remembered going there to find out something very important and if he had gotten something useful there, the there might be a big chance he would manage to find someone who could help Naomi and if he was lucky, perhaps tell him what had happened in the past few hours. The last thing he remembered before waking up was fighting in a really big battle and then standing on a large circular platform when a ray of light shot through his chest.

This was definitely the most sensible thing he could do right now and it was the only place he remembered where something good happened. He lifted Naomi in his arms as a dark portal opened in front of him. Carrying the unconscious girl he walked into it.

Master Yen Sid was sitting on his chair behind his desk as usual. The dark portal opened inside the room and Kei walked in with Naomi in his hands. "Ah Kei, I was hoping to see you again", he spoke, but stopped immediately after noticing Naomi. "I sense something tragic has happened to poor, young Naomi". Kei quietly sat her on the chair in front of Yen Sid's desk. The Master got up and walked towards her. He lifted Naomi's head and began examining her while Kei stood watching. "How much do you remember?", Yen Sid suddenly asked.

"Not much",Kei replied.

"Do you remember who I am?", Yen Sid asked.

"All I remember is coming to you to ask something",Kei replied.

"Do you remember what that 'something' was?"

"Yeah, I think I came to ask you something about 'coming back' or something like that right?"

"Yes that is correct".

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"I am afraid that is something only you can tell yourself, I do not know you enough to be able to tell you much".

"How long will my memory take to return?"

"That depends on how you try to regain it. I would suggest you go to worlds that you have been to before especially the realm of darkness".

"Okay, I will, but what about Naomi, can you tell me what happened to her?",Kei asked.

"I might have an idea, but in order to confirm that you must remember and tell me everything that has happened since the last time you came to me",he answered.

"But Master Yen Sid that can take a really long time",Kei said.

"Oh can it? Tell me Kei before you walked into this room did you even remember my name or the realm of darkness?",the Master asked. Kei could not deny this, in the past few minutes several memories had been appearing in his thoughts. "Go now, and search for the bits of your memory. I'm sure it won't take too long, until then I assure you, Naomi will be safe here with me". Kei nodded and left in a dark portal.

The portal opened near the station in Twilight Town and Kei stepped out looking around,he had been here before. He decided to walk around and see what else he could remember when he suddenly noticed a small bit of ice on the station tower. He remembered running up that tower to avoid being frozen and for some reason he also remembered shooting ice towards someone who was running up the same station tower. How could he be able to remember that fight from two different views? He decided to walk towards the town to see what other memories he could find.

He walked into the main area of town, there were a few buildings and shops. The tram passed in front of him, a few passengers stared at him as if they had never seen him before. "Mommy, when is Naomi coming back?",came the words from a small boy not far from Kei. He seemed to know Naomi, and his mother seemed to have suddenly gotten upset on hearing Naomi's name. A memory of a dark beam going through Naomi flashed into Kei's mind. Kei suddenly began to think that Naomi could have been dead. Perhaps Master Yen Sid knew, but just wasn't willing to tell him,, maybe he thought it would be a bad idea to tell Kei what had happened to Naomi at least until his memory returned. One thing Kei was sure of was that this was Naomi's family. He felt a little guilty. In front of him stood Naomi's family worrying about where she is and there was no way he could make them believe that Naomi was unconscious, in a tower, in another world, under the care of an old, but powerful keyblade master. At that moment there was only one thought that made him happy, regaining his memory was neither hard nor taking as long as he thought.

He walked to a wall under a bridge where he could not be seen. He opened a portal and left, this time going some where he knew he spent a really long time in.

It was silent and dark, the waves were crashing against the shores of the 'dark margin'. Kei appeared out of a portal and stood on the beach. The atmosphere of this world immediately poured several memories into Kei's mind. He knew he had spent a lot of time here and in Radiant Garden, though he remembered doing much more in the realm of darkness whereas all he remembered about Radiant Garden was leading an army of heartless against the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee.

Now it finally made sense, he suddenly realised that the reason he had a two-sided memory of everything was because he had once become a heartless and nobody and their deaths were how he came back. There was only one place he remembered waking up as a heartless for the first time- The Badlands. That was where he decided to go, he no longer cared about finding out what happened to Naomi,he felt he had to find out what happened to him and more importantly why after so many years he can not remember being any younger, he should have been a grown man by now , but was still a teenager. He opened the portal and walked in.

He appeared in the badlands after more than a decade. It all happened so quickly. His head suddenly started hurting and his vision became blurred as he started to black out and shut down like a computer that had been unplugged.

Thousands of memories began appearing along with several names and neither of those were Kei's memories. There was one where he was talking to someone called Mickey who stood next to a boy he somehow recognized as Ramo. Several memories of destiny islands and several other worlds came, non of which Kei recognized.There was one where he was looking at a sleeping baby sometimes through Ramo's eyes and sometimes through Koru's. "Good bye Sora, if we don't make it I know you'll grow up and take care of everyone", Koru said looking at his one-year old nephew, he knew he was going to a fight he had little chances of winning.

"C'mon Koru stop making a drama, we'll come back, we always do don't we?", Ramo spoke.

"Yeah, but how many times have we gone to do something like this?",Koru asked.

"Well never, but we're keyblade wielders it's our job to protect the light, at any cost", Ramo replied. Koru sighed and they both left quietly, it was past midnight and everyone was asleep. Another memory came, perhaps the most important one, they were losing the fight against Master Xehanort and had decided to merge their hearts and that was when Kei came into existence and fought Xehanort.

 

Kei opened his eyes, so that was where he came from. That was all he had ever lived, since the moment he first existed all he ever did was fight and search for answers. What was worst was that he was never even born. He had no home, family or even friends. The only reason he came into existence was to stop a mad man from spreading darkness everywhere and he did not even succeed at that. Heart broken he opened a portal and walked into it.

"I know what happened to Naomi", Kei told Master Yen Sid,"but i don't think i needed to find out did I?".

"No I needed you to simply confirm it", he replied.

" So how long will she be asleep like this?", Kei asked.

" Eleven years ago a similar thing happened to a boy named Ventus, he has not awoken since then because his friends could not return to him. She may continue to sleep like this forever",Yen Sid answered.

"I don't know whether I should feel bad or wish I could end up like that", Kei said miserably. Yen Sid took a deep breath.

"I could give you two options, you could either train with me and join Sora in bringing an end to Xehanort or you can bring Naomi back", Yen Sid told him.

"Bring Naomi back, sounds like a good idea and I know the best way, one that's good for everyone", Kei replied.

"Are you sure it would be best for everyone?", Yen Sid asked.

"Think about it, there's plenty of darkness in me from all the things I did as a heartless and all the anger I gathered as a Nobody. Koru and Ramo will never find the light in such a dark place. Naomi is full of light, she's the best hope they've got. I was not even supposed to exist. If I do this, they might be able to come back and besides, Naomi's friends and family are worried sick about her. It's not like any one is going to miss me, right?", Kei explained.

" Do what you must", Yen Sid said simply and walked towards the window shaped like a crescent moon. Several feet behind, Donald and Goofy were peeking through the door, listening to the entire conversation. Naomi was lying on a bed on one side of the room.

Kei summoned his keyblade. It was a merged version of Xiek and Ike's keyblades with two chains that had a Nobody and a Heartless symbol on it. He placed the tip against his chest and out of a small burst of white light his heart came out and went towards Naomi. The last thing he saw was his heart go into Naomi before everything blacked out.

 

 

"I wish there was something we could do for him",said Koru.

"We can, he gave up his life so that we can return. He wanted us to come back",said Ramo.

"Yeah your right", Koru said. He suddenly looked up.

"Ramo look!", Koru yelled pointing towards something behind Ramo. Ramo turned around.

"The light!",he yelled.

"What are you waiting for, let's go!", Koru exclaimed and they both ran off towards the light, the light that would finally take them home once they reached it. Thirteen years of living in the dark would soon be over.
