Disney Newsletter Reveals Epic Mickey 2

from ign and disney newsletter

Epic Mickey 2 has been announced in a Disney newsletter.

The newsletter was first spotted by Stitch Kingdom. The sequel to the Wii-exclusive original is due for release Christmas 2012 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

The newsletter also revealed that the game will contain an all-new co-op mode, in which one player controls Mickey, who will once more wield his enchanted paintbrush, while the other player controls Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who can fly a helicopter and use electricity to fight enemies and solve puzzles (as rabbits are often inclined to do).

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be a playable character this time.

The newsletter in full reads:

"Disney Epic Mickey 2 is the latest game in the critically acclaimed Disney Epic Mickey videogame series. In this all-new action-platforming game available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, Mickey embarks on an epic journey and is pulled back into a world filled with Disney's forgotten characters. Players can choose to play single-player as Mickey or for the first time players can also choose two-player split screen mode. In the two-player mode one person can play as Mickey wielding magic paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world and the second player can play as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit - Walt Disney's first cartoon star - with the power to fly like a helicopter and use electricity to fight or friend enemies and solve challenges. Team-up and choose your path to save this forgotten world because the choices you make will alter the story and change the end of the game!"

Awesome, more keyblade wielding.

Hold on. Did they just say "Mickey gets pulled into a world filled with forgotten Disney characters"? LMAO Does this remind anyone of a certain game about to come out?

Won't get a chance to play it.

It reminds of Epic Mickey 1.

It's also odd that it's on wii not the wii u that should be out when this game comes out.

Yes! I wanted to play Epic Mickey but I don't have a Wii. Now I can play the sequel on my PS3. Aww, I'm so happy. I hope they make this one darker than the first, but we'll see.

Awww, I haven't played the 1st one! *no Wii* ....I better not get confused when playing the 2nd. T3T

*too lazy to look up scenes online. xP *

Weird... I just beat the first one and was wondering if there was going to be a sequel. *jumps for joy* 8D

thats cool but never played the first one so hoping they put the first one on ps3 and xbox so everyone can play both.

Hmm... seems interesting. I liked the first one but it wasn't really one of my favorite games ever. Might get it but idk yet I'd have to see more info.

Yeah, you aren't the only one that's questioned that decision.
