Knight Chronicles: Gigas Awakening

Posted

Based off of White Knight Chronicles

It's been a number of years since the great cataclysm that tore the world asunder and the great kingdoms of the land have recently started being attacked by beasts far more vicious than the standard fare of monsters. They are known as Gigantes, or more commonly Gigas. Somehow they have managed to leave their home realm and they are wreaking havoc across the realm. The people are scared and vulnerable, the perfect opportunity to either take advantage of them all or step up and become a hero. There has been talk of weapons discovered among the ruins unveiled by the cataclysm, great Knights who may just be able to defeat these Gigas once and for all.

Features and Rules:

The world and past will be about the same, but the characters from the game will not be making an appearance unless an rper makes a case for them and I accept. All new, original Incorrupti are used in the story. New weapons are available in they are thought through and explained thoroughly. That includes separating individual weapon types from the general group they are found in and giving them new specific abilities (like making a katana function differently than a longsword). Each role player can control only two characters at first. Any more must be passed through me first please. To prove that you've read the features and rules you must post your favorite video game character at the end of your first post. Anyone can act just about however they want within certain limits. No god modding unless you're in a villain role. No one can kill anyone else's character without permission. There will only be five Knights available, all of which must be discovered in story but which must be claimed in the sign up post. Only one of each role player's characters will be able to find and use a Knight. Standard kh13 role play rules apply of course and no excessive violence or language will be accepted. Keep it PG-13. Posts not following the rules may be asked to be edited. There will be a three strike system.

What awaited them in Balandor?   True, the city wasn't that far away, and yet Gen couldn't help but wonder. What did the others think would happen? Something about Brutus' stagger implied it may inv

Brutus came down, his hair was blonde, his clothes were clean, and he was paler than before. "Guys!! I just realized I'm a natural blonde, and I'm sooo white! Bathing feels sooo great!!" he smiled big, as he continued," So when do we go?" A yell came from upstairs, "Holy crap! Who told the town my bathroom was a toilet?!" "Yeah, we should probably go now..." Brutus said blushing.

"You didn't use the bathroom near your room, did you? You used one somewhere else. Well okay then, I guess we'd better let the King know we're set to go and we can all talk more once we get on the ship," inserted Joseph, eager to get out of the trouble Brutus may have just caused.

"I kinda just took a bath somewhere, I guess you're supposed to take a bath regularly??" he asked. He ran out the door holding all his stuff.

"Are we running away?"

Yeah. We're running.

Gen hurried behind Brutus, looking over her shoulder to see if anyone was following them. She caught up with Joseph, unsure of how to answer his question. "About what you were asking earlier. I'm not very good in fighting." She began to wobble in her steps, her mind trying to piece words together. "I am used to working... I do not know the word you would use... secrètement. They do not see me coming." It was true. The fights she had been in since her arrival in Blanador have been a completely new experience for her. While that put her at a disadvantage, a lingering dread set over her. Unfortunately, there would be plenty of chances to gain experience in the field.

But that wasn't the only thing that caught her off-guard. Joseph looked as though he simply cut off the end of his question. Was there something else in the back of his mind? "And what of you? You simply stand back and wave that stick of yours around?"

"Wave my staff around? Really? Have you not been paying attention at all while we were fighting? Unlike most mages, I prefer to get up close in combat, using the rod as a magically enhanced weapon. People rarely realize just how potent of a weapon it can be, and better yet, people are totally taken aback by my style of fighting. Ahh, the looks on their faces. Priceless." Joseph then realized that he'd been daydreaming, or at the very least drifting off, so he pulled himself back to the conversation. "It isn't without risk for me to be up front, as I'm not nearly so well protected as Brutus or good at dodging as you are, but I manage. I unfortunately don't know the highest levels of magic yet, but I think outside the box. Surely that's worth something. For you, I'd suggest continuing to take advantage of that secretiveness and infuse it with magic. That'd be a scary sight to see, and a scarier one not to."

The three of them were getting on the boat at this point and the crew ushered them into the the compartments until they could get everything all set up. Joseph then turned to Brutus, realizing that he had accidentally left him out of the conversation thus far. It was difficult to think about other people when Gen was around. "So how about you, oh great knight? Got any special abilities hidden up your sleeves we should know about, aside from the monstrous suit of armor, or do you just hit things really hard and shrug off direct blows from Giants?"

Brutus laughed. "Actually there's a lot more to me than that....but I'd rather not get into it. It's the past..." he said, he began thinking back, but then realized that he was talking about how he fights and continued, "I manage, I'd rather not take too many hits from giants, but I can take a beating. I don't just hit things, believe it or not I'm also very good at being a distraction, and not to mention I've got a rather nasty habit of ticking everything off. That means things like to come fight me, and usually pay less attention to people I'm travelling with. This is the first time I've ever travelled with anyone so long in a long time though. Ahh well c'est la vie."

It was the last words that caught her attention. "C'est la vie?" Gen glanced at Brutus before looking back to the water crashing against the hull. "Not only does it speak other languages, but it uses complete sentences too. Who would have know?" The smile on her face felt good, even if it was at another's... well, expense. "It seems that cleaning up 'as made you a new person, Brutus."

Joseph caught the jovial humor as they were told that they could leave the cabins if they wished. "Yeah," he followed up, "and in more than just appearance. Next thing we know he'll actually use utensils instead of just shoving everything down his gullet." Joseph then turned to step out into the fresh breeze of the open air, the sunlight reflecting beautifully off of the waves before him.

Brutus laughed he understood what they meant, his manners had been a bit nonexistent as of late, and it had caused him to seem much like his father. Oh well, he'd find a way to redeem himself. Might even be able to come across as a gentleman. "Well, it sure is pretty out here. Not at all like my last visit thought. It was stormy then...and cold...so very...anyway as soon as we land I know I'm hitting a restaurant. I'm hungry," he said smiling.

"Now there's Brutus." Gen smiled as she leaned back against the railing. She had only been on a boat once before, but it didn't seem to bother her like other people claimed it bothered them. Of course, she couldn't think of a way for that to be a bad thing...

"So, this boat. It brings us directly to Faria? What kind of buildings do they have there?" With their destination charted, it was time for business. Everyone around her was opening up. Maybe it was time for her to do so as well. And the best way she could think of was to show them.

"Buildings, huh?" said Joseph. He considered for a moment before replying. "Well, they have a rather peculiar architecture. They seem to have borrowed heavily from China in their influences (if France exists, then why can't they?), or maybe it was the other way around. Both civilizations are so old it's hard to tell which came first."

"Yeah, the cultures are kinda different though. The people of Faria actually have the pickiest of appetites, but the people of China will eat like me!" Brutus said with a huge grin, "I have a buddy in Faria, helped him out in a tight spot once, and ever since he's never given me a word of advice...he likes to do that."
