After the overwhelming popularity of the idea, I'm starting this rp. Remember, this takes place in the modern time. So people won't be very happy if you draw your weapon in public. Be careful. Also, this was an important question, and I'll answer. You can talk to your Inhabiter whenever you want. And I have to have Sephiroth as my enemy. Sorry, Azure Flame xD

Joy sat in the cafe, drinking his coffee slowly. He couldn't believe all of it was real. Final Fantasy, everything. And why Cloud chose him was boyone his understanding. After all, in the games, he was the cool dude. Still, having the Buster Sword was pretty cool. He finished his coffee and walked out slowly. He put his hands in his pockets and tried to imitate Cloud's expression, but he burst out laughing, causing to people around him to look at him. Oh, if only they knew.

Joy smiled. "I'm fine, thanks for worrying." Calder looked at both of them. "Hey. Are you guys gonna just stand there, or are we gonna kick some butt?" Joy shook his head, and let go of Mariah. "Just like Tidus, childish." Calder grinned. "Hasn't done anything wrong yet. Don't get how being serious helps either." Joy shrugged. "Anyways, time to go." Joy picked up his Buster Sword from the ground. "So, does anyone have any idea where James might be?"

Chuck got up, brushing himself off. "From what I heard, that Marcus guy went to get Jenova right? We find him, we'll find James and Sephiroth. I have a feeling that there may be a Reunion, and we'll have a big fight on our hands." he said. "I'm Chuck Lions, by the way. Squall is my Inhabitor."

Joy smiled slightly. "The loner one, huh? Just like how Cloud is brooding? Nice to meet you, I'm Joy, and Cloud's my Inhabitor. So. Where did Marcus go to find Jenova? Some barren ice wasteland like I had to go to?" Cloud brushed himself off, and leaned against his sword. "Anyways, how are we gonna get there? And how are we gonna find him, too?"

I'll see if I can't phone Marcus or August and get their exact location,” Mariah chimed in. “Maybe Marcus could even arrange for us to get a jet. And once we find James, I don't know about the rest of you, but the first thing I'm going to want to do is get that Black Materia away from him.” With that, she got her phone out and dialed Marcus's number.

"Can't any of you summon?" he asked. He jumped out the window and called out "BAHAMUT!" The giant dragon came from him and he landed on it's back. "I was lucky that Squall had Bahamut junctioned to him when he became my Inhabitor."

Joy shrugged. "Never tried to summon anything before. And I don't think I will. Anyways, what? You want us to fly on the back of this thing?" Calder shrugged. "Doesn't seem that hard to me, Joy." Joy glared at him. Calder broke out laughing. "Wow. You even have his look down now!" Joy shrugged. "I guess so. I think I'm becoming more like him every minute."

Mariah's eyes widened at the creature that appeared at Chuck's call. Tifa...?

I'm pretty sure I can't summon anything at the moment, but I'll definitely be on the lookout for materia from now on," Tifa said. "Besides, based on how the last couple of battles with James went, I don't think we'll be able to win without it.”

Mariah nodded in silent agreement. She smiled at Joy and Calder's conversation, then addressed Chuck as she waited for Marcus to pick up his phone. “So, I guess we're all hopping onto your...Bahamut?”

Cain frowned and said," Well I guess we tried..." He then turned back into his behemoth form and took off. Vincent then took on his chaos form and flew infront of James. "Alright Sephiroth, Jenova is with me. Call off the meteor, and you may have your mother...otherwise..." ,Vincent began. He then slid Cerberus into the bag and held it against Jenova's head. "Unless you want Jenova splattered against the ground and raining on the earth, call off the meteor now." He then waited for a response with his hand on the trigger.

James turned around, looking at the bag. "Prove to me that she is in the bag and I will." he said. He knew there would be no way for them to know if the meteor had stopped or not until it was too late, so he could lie and tell them he stopped it so he would have Jenova. Or he could stop it, and then start it up again once he had her.

Vincent frowned. He knew Sephiroth's game, and so he said," Here's your proof." He pulled the trigger and blasted Jenova all over the place just like he promised. He then quickly aimed the gun at Sephiroth and said," I think we both know how this is going to go down. Why don't we just hurry this up?"

MOTHER!!!!!! Sephiroth roared in anger. He took over James's body and fired a firaga ball at Marcus. He then flew at the bag to grab Jenova.

Seeing the situation suddenly get tense, August hung up from trying to call Victoria and asked Vaan if there was any way that they could get out there and help without, you know, dying. "Well, I used to be able to summon Adrammelech, an Esper who could fly, but I don't know if we can do that here." August, being more bold than he ever had before, shouted "Well it's about time we found out!" and jumped out of the plane in hopes that this crazy plan would work. He knew that if he didn't do something then the world was basically screwed anyway, so why not?

Jared heard August make an exclamation, and by the time he turned his head around, Jared was the only person remaining in the plane. He now saw on the radar that there we three figures behind the jet, who he could only assume to be Marcus, August, and probably James. “Well, I guess it’s time to land this thing. But how am I going to join the fight when they’re all in the air?”

“We’ll figure something out,” Sazh said. “A good friend of mine showed me that where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

“Right,” Jared said, and he began descending.

Mariah hung up her cell phone. “Marcus isn’t answering--he’s probably busy. Who knows? At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already run into James.” She turned to Chuck. “So Bahamut won’t have any reservations about carrying all four of us, right? Something tells me we should really get moving.”

Joy nodded, lost in thought. Calder looked at them. "Ok, this is, uh, great and all, but how do we know where they are?" Joy looked at him. "Guess we just...have to trust our guts." Calder laughed. "And in all those movies where they do that, don't they end up failing? Now, I know I'm in no position to say this, considering my Inhabitor, but don't you think we should think this through, even if just a little bit." Joy chose his next words carefully. "Our friends, or other Inhabitor's lives are on the line. We have no time to plan."

Vincent thought quickly and shot at Sephiroth's hand, then turned away from the fire, but it managed to singe his leg. "Don't you think this is going to be just like the mansion Vincent? You're long range fighting style didn't work on Sephiroth in our last fight," Marcus thought. "Ok so what do you suggest?" Vincent growled. "Wait for him to get up close, and then let me take comand of the legs...he's still human," Marcus answered. Vincent was hesitant but then complied. What did they have to lose?

Falling and falling and falling. Strangely, August wasn't panicked. He'd let Vaan take complete control of his body, and was simply enjoying the breeze on his face. Vaan, on the other hand, seemed a little more stressed than usual. After yet another failed attempt, Vaan was just about ready to give up, the ground quickly approaching. "Come on!" he shouted through August's body, and with a final burst of energy, he summoned forth a beast far greater than he had hoped for. Landing on it's back, he began to rise once again rapidly. Maybe with this they had a chance of winning. With a smirk on his face Vaan and August thought together, "Let's see how he likes Zodiark!"

(Again, if anyone has any objections then feel free to voice them and I will edit accordingly.)

Sephiroth grabbed Jenova, blocking the gunshot. He flew up into the sky and raised his hand. "You are all fools and you shall die for it." Sephiroth said. His arm glowed black and the meteor starting coming down faster.

(If only Mariah was there to talk to James lol... oh wait, I forgot she was riding on Bahamut with Chuck xD)

Chuck saw the group in the air with James making the meteor come down faster. "Crap, we're too late!" he said.

No! Mariah thought. She instinctively, subconsciously reached her hand out toward James, in a pleading gesture for him to call off the meteor, though of course such an action would be futile. To her shock, a burst of energy shot out from her hand, heading straight for James.

“Scardigne must’ve given us that ability,” Tifa observed, trying to hide her amazement and, yes, even excitement over the newfound power behind an appropriate tone of reverence for the deceased. “Looks like we finally have a long range attack.”

Jared quickly navigated towards an airport in Peru. Fortunately, he had friends there whom he was able to speak directly to over the radio, and was granted permission to land almost immediately. Once he landed and ensured that the jet would be taken care of in his absence, he went into the airport’s control room, right to Alexandre, the man who had been able to get him on the ground so quickly. Upon seeing Jared, Alexandre rose from his seat, got someone to take his place, and walked out with his old friend. “Alex,” Jared said quietly, “I need a huge favor. I’ll owe you big time. Can you still get me access to one of those prototypes?”

Alexandre grimaced. “I was hoping you’d never ask me that. This is an absolute need, right? I mean, you’re not just looking for an adrenaline rush.”

“Life or death. For the entire planet, from what I hear.”

“Well, in that case, you’ll have to tell me all about it once you’re done,” Alexandre replied in a neutral tone. The two stepped into an elevator and Alexandre pressed the ordinary-looking buttons in a complicated pattern. Jared felt as if his stomach went up to his chest as the elevator descended at a velocity much faster than normal. They ended up in a cold, sleek chamber filled with top-secret equipment. Alexandre handed Jared what he wanted and pointed at a Jeep with a chauffeur waiting nearby. “He’ll take you to an open field, where there won’t be people for miles. After that, do what you will, but please don’t let a lot of people see it. You do owe me. A lot.”

“Of course,” Jared said. “Thanks.” With that, he got into the Jeep and was taken through a series of underground tunnels, then ended up in an open field, just like Alex said he would. Once Jared was out, the chauffeur immediately doubled back to the cave they had come out from.

“Wow,” Sazh said, “I didn’t think your world’s technology was advanced enough to have jet packs yet.”

Jared grinned. “It’s not, according to most people.” With that, he strapped the pack onto his back, put on the special gloves with which he could control his flight, and switched it on. Judging by the distance covered between the time Marcus and August ditched him and the time he was able to land, short as that time was and fast as the jet was, Jared estimated that the mid-air battle was taking place in northern Chile. But this thing should get him there in no time. With a simple movement of his fingers, he shot into the sky, and let out a thrilled scream. Okay, he thought, so maybe it was partially for the adrenaline rush.

He reached the group in a matter of minutes, and noticed an additional four people, one of whom looked vaguely familiar, riding on the back of a large creature. He hoped those four were on his side, otherwise this wouldn’t go well. He saw what looked like a burst of energy coming from the girl as it went for James, and his fears subsided.

“Ready?” Sazh asked.

Jared pulled out Sazh’s two guns. “Oh, yes,” he said, taking a couple shots at James.

Sephiroth blocked the gunshots, but got hit by the unexpected blast from Mariah. He glared at her, flying toward her. James was forced to sit back in his mind as he watched things unfold. For once his mind was his own, uneffected by Sephiroth. For the first time in a long time, James was himself. "No Sephiroth, don't kill her!" he said. "Shut up you weak fool!" Sephiroth replied.

Mariah was horrified when she saw James coming at her, because she had a dilemma. If she jumped off of Bahamut, there was no guarantee it would catch her again. But if she stayed, she would probably get killed, and Joy and the others might also get injured in the wake of the attack. The only way to go was up.

Tifa could see from James’s eyes that Sephiroth had completely taken him over. He wouldn’t hesitate to end Mariah’s life like James had. “Let me take this!” she told Mariah, and without waiting for a response, she was in control of Mariah’s body. Just before Sephiroth was upon her, Tifa stood, working to keep her balance, and leaped straight up into the air, aiming to get higher than he was so that he would pass right under her.

He flew right past her and turned around. "Sephiroth stop this!" James said. "Shut up!" Sephiroth said to him out loud. James tried to take his body back, causing Sephiroth to stop in place.

Zodiark shot up from the cover of the clouds and shot a blast of energy horizontally at James before dropping below him to try and ready itself to catch Mariah if need be. August used Vaan's abilities to summon a shot gun and began trying to blast James, but he immediately realized how bad of an idea that was, especially considering the toll summoning Zodiark had taken on his energy levels. August could only press forward at this point, conscious that James would take advantage of any perceived weakness. Vaan took note that James stopped for a moment, but didn't have the opportunity to think about it much. There was the world to save, after all. Both August and Vaan had made up their minds, however, that if worst were to come to worst, that they would attempt to use Zodiark to destroy or at least buffer the damage from the meteor. This would require that they ride on Zodiark all the way there, as the Esper couldn't go far from it's summoner, but they both knew that the lives of the many were well worth the sacrifice.

Jared watched as James closed in to kill the girl, who evaded the attack just in time. “Well, call me old-fashioned, but hell no! What kind of guy makes a cheap shot at a woman like that?” When James stopped in place, Jared took the opportunity and fired at him several times. Okay, so this is a cheap shot, but he’s not a woman, and he’s got it coming to him anyway, what with trying to destroy the world and all! Jared thought.

Sazh chuckled. “Can’t argue with that.”

As Tifa started falling, she noticed another summon, August’s, flying below her. She flipped and landed perfectly on top of it, then looked in James’s direction again and saw him just hovering. Looks like Sephiroth and James aren’t getting along right now, she thought. She charged up for another, more controlled blast of energy.

“Tifa, wait!” Mariah begged. “Give James a chance!”

“Mariah, you know I don’t want to do this,” Tifa said aloud, “but do you want the whole planet to be wiped out?” Mariah didn’t answer, and Tifa followed through with the attack. To Mariah’s surprise, the burst of energy wasn’t a broad thing aimed to hit James’s whole body, but rather it was more of a concentrated beam heading exclusively for his arm, in which the Black Materia was embedded. “See?” Tifa said, smiling and a little winded from the exertion. “Just trust me and let me concentrate, and I’ll try to minimize the bloodshed. Here, you can have your body back for now.”

Then Mariah was back in control. “Right,” she responded to Tifa, still a little uncertain.

Joy was scared for Mariah. This is it, Cloud. we're fighting Sephiroth, when he has his full power, and we have our full power. I'm guessing I'm going to need to let you take over now. And then Cloud was in control. He pulled out his Buster Sword and looked straight towards Sephiroth. "I won't let you hurt anyone else. Prepare to get beaten!"

"No!" James said to them. "Stay away!" Sephiroth blocked the bullets fired at him, but got hit by Mariah's attack in the arm. That gave James an idea. He struggled to take control, even for a moment. He held out his right arm, which had the Black Materia in it and strugged for control of his left arm, managing to get control for just as long as he needed it for. "I-I'm sorry for what I've done. Sephiroth had poisoned my mind, his will is that strong. I cannot atone for what I have done, but I hope this makes up for some of it." With that, he cut his right arm off, crying out in pain as Sephiroth took control again. "YOU FOOL WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Sephiroth cried out, holding the stump of an arm he had left. He turned to flee so he could tend to his wound and not bleed to death.

Chuck flew bahamut to grab Mariah as she fell and then directed him to get the falling arm of James.

(Was kinda hoping Mariah would try to reason with James, which would strengthen his will so he could take control to do this, but I can see that wouldn't have happened, so I just did it.)
