After the overwhelming popularity of the idea, I'm starting this rp. Remember, this takes place in the modern time. So people won't be very happy if you draw your weapon in public. Be careful. Also, this was an important question, and I'll answer. You can talk to your Inhabiter whenever you want. And I have to have Sephiroth as my enemy. Sorry, Azure Flame

 

Joy sat in the cafe, drinking his coffee slowly. He couldn't believe all of it was real. Final Fantasy, everything. And why Cloud chose him was boyone his understanding. After all, in the games, he was the cool dude. Still, having the Buster Sword was pretty cool. He finished his coffee and walked out slowly. He put his hands in his pockets and tried to imitate Cloud's expression, but he burst out laughing, causing to people around him to look at him. Oh, if only they knew.

(I’m back! This week should be a little less crazy for me, so hopefully I’ll be able to come to this thread at least once a day, but we’ll see...)

 

Mariah and Jared reached the Alpha Behemoth, which was waiting for them at the end of the path. Upon seeing the two of them, the behemoth opened its mouth and let out a bloodthirsty roar, then dove towards them. As it came closer, Jared could just make out a small, green orb between two of its claws. “Hey, what’s that?” he asked, pointing at the object.

 

“Cure materia!” Mariah exclaimed. It wouldn’t be easy to get. They jumped out of the way right when the creature was almost upon them. “You distract him, and I’ll get the materia!” Mariah called.

 

Jared gritted his teeth. That materia had better be worth the trouble. He got directly in front of the monster, and began shooting at its head. The behemoth swerved its head and took most of the bullets in the side of its face, then screamed in rage and swiped at Jared, knocking him to the floor, one of its sharp claws ripping through his leg.

 

Mariah got under the behemoth, leaped into the air, and reached for the materia, but it wouldn’t come loose. The monster looked down and noticed what she was trying to do, and Mariah barely evaded its attack at her. She hurled a burst of energy at it, but that barely made the behemoth budge.

 

Jared struggled to sit up and began shooting at the behemoth again. Mariah attempted again to steal the materia in the moment of distraction, and this time she got a hold of it. The behemoth turned its attention back to Mariah and swiped at her, more forcefully than it had at Jared, and she was slammed against a far wall.

 

Jared, let me take over! I’ll handle this! Sazh said. With that, Sazh used his Cold Blood ability and finished the monster off, then gave Jared control again. Jared surveyed the giant creature, making doubly sure it was dead, then limped over to Mariah and helped her up as best he could. “Are you alright?” he asked.

 

“Well, I will be, as soon as I use this,” Mariah said breathlessly, showing Jared the materia. He was surprised she had been able to hold onto it even through the impact against the wall. Then she got a look at his injured leg and gasped. “But you first!” she said, and before he could object, she held up the materia and it started to glow, then Jared’s leg was healed and much of his energy renewed.

 

“Thanks,” Jared said. Mariah only smiled in return, then used the materia on herself. The wounds from the dozens of needles that had stabbed her disappeared, and she was feeling much better, though still a bit disheartened. “Okay, let’s find Cain!” Jared began leading the way.

 

(Okay, sorry if this question is stupid, but how can I get my characters to Cain? LOL should I just copy Not-with-a-whimper?)

(OOC: Well, Cain is in the next floor down, so I figured that through an open hatch would be good. Besides, if one wall went down due to the defeat of a behemoth, why not another, right?)

“Wait!” Mariah said, hearing something in...one of the walls? She looked in the direction the sound was coming from, and Jared turned his head there, too. They watched as the wall slid aside and opened up to a hatch at the end of a short hallway.

 

The two of them approached the hatch cautiously, and Jared opened it, then looked back at Mariah. “This could be it,” he said. “Cain might be waiting for us down there. You ready?”

 

“As ready as I’ll ever be. Let’s take him out.”

 

“Okay, then. I’ll go first,” Jared said, and he began descending. Mariah followed close behind him.

Cain saw that they were all assembled infront of him. He jumped away from Victoria and gave a low bow. "Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the grand finale!! I hope you try not to die too early, please enjoy the bitter end, and accept it," he said coldly. The flames grew higher and he let his body come under control by Caius. "Before we begin, are there any questions? Or, is have I made my point clear?" he asked.

Joy looked at him coldly. "Fight you. Seems pretty simple." He pulled out his Buster Sword. "We'll end this here. This is the end of the line, Cauis. Your plan is over." Calder looked up. "Yeah. You'll lose. They always lose." Joy smiled. Even if he was upset with Mariah, it was nice to see her again. And all his friends. But still, some might not make it out alive. Are you ready? Spoke Cloud. Yeah. I'm ready.

Victoria decided to raise her hand, "I have one question, will I still be able to catch my concert surprise tonight?" Victoria asked. 'What are you doing Victoria?' Lightning asked inside Victoria's mind. 'I know what I am doing, I have a plan on how to do this. And besides, my father was the leader of his own spy group that survived until around the time you showed up to me.' Victoria told Lightning inside her thoughts. Victoria made sure that he gunblade was in gunmode instead of sword mode.

 

Outside the building, Paul and Aria made it out safely. "You got to love famous-government techinology. Now whats the plan?" Paul asked Aria. Aria was already back to normal. "Well if I am not made mad again, then me and Noel have a plan." Aria then wispered him the plan. A man then walked behind them, "Well there you are, Aria. I have been looking all over for where you said to meet you." the man said. "Oh, Peterson, I forgot all about you! Hey we could use your science gizmo brain for something, I will explain on the way." Aria said. Noel Peterson then nodded.

August was shocked and thankful that Calder was still alive, but he didn't know how much longer that would last for any of them. He summoned a longsword and flew through the air towards Cain, hoping to at least make an opening for the others.

Caius nodded, dodged the sword, and said," Very well, let's see what happens..." He smiled, and bowed low. Then whipped out his sword, slammed it into the ground, and fired blast wave at the group.

Aside form Cain, Calder was the first person to catch Jared’s notice. “The kid made it!” he said quietly. Mariah looked to see what Jared meant, and gasped at the sight of Calder. He’s alright! she thought happily. Her eyes then fell upon Joy. Be careful, she thought, one last time. She and Jared turned their attention to Cain just in time to see August charging at him.

 

Mariah jumped out of the way of the wave Cain shot at them, but Jared knew he wouldn’t be able to jump high enough. Instead, he took a few shots at Cain’s torso and head until the wave hit him, knocking him back several feet. Mariah descended upon Cain, aiming to kick him.

Cain sighed, he dodged the bullets but took the kick, and recovered with a backflip and fired gravega.

Mariah was brought down by the crushing weight of Cain’s graviga attack, and she could feel the air leaving her lungs as she fought desperately to free herself. Jared stood up with a grunt, and fired a blitz attack at Cain.

(OOC: Yup, lol.)

 

Cain jumped in the air, so that the blitz attack was aimed in August's direction, and then he launched forward at Jared preparing to strike.

August was unfortunately hit with the spray of bullets, the searing pain clouding his judgement. He leaped towards Cain and cast an Inferno sigil, bursting through it in flames, hoping to hit Cain in midair.

“Dammit!” Jared said through clenched teeth. As Cain came at him, he began firing at his face, and poised himself to jump away at the last moment.

 

Mariah finally freed herself from the graviga spell, gasping for air. She launched herself at Cain from the side, ready to punch him.

Chuck charged at Cain from the opposite side, Gunblade in hand. "You're going down Cain!" he said. A blue light shot out from the gun part of his weapon, surrounding the blade part.

"Hmmm. Well maybe I should try a new tactic..." Caius thought. He quickly wheeled to the right so that he landed into Mariah's punch, but now August was aimed at Chuck. Chuck was aimed at Jared, and Jared's bullets were headed for the wall.

Mariah was surprised when Cain seemed to purposely land into her punch, but she decided not to question it. She then kicked toward his stomach.

 

Jared was taken off guard by Cain’s quick switch in direction, but he still jumped out of the way as he had planned to.

 

Mariah saw that August had been injured and wanted to use her materia to cure him, but she was too occupied with Cain for the moment. Just hang on... she thought.

Joy, disappointed that he wasn't included, ran over to Calder. "They seem to be handling this. What do we do?" Calder shrugged. "Uh, maybe try a sneak attack from behind?" Joy nodded. "Come on." They snuck behind Cain, and both swung their swords.

Chuck stopped in his tracks before he hit Jared. "What the heck happened!?" he said, turing around to face Cain again. He charged at him once more.

Caius looked furious, and then decided he'd had enough. He slammed his sword into the ground and sent blast waves flying all around him to keep enemies away.

Joy slammed against the wall. "Urgh. Surprise attack failed. What now?!" Calder groaned, and stood up. "I...don't know. We've never fought anyone this hard." Joy fell to his knees, and examined his back. He gasped as his hand ran over a hole where he hit the wall. He stood, trying not to seem weak. But blood stained his shirt, and he fell to the ground.

August, having luckily never hit anyone during the incident but unluckily having been hit by Cain's blastwaves, decided to change tactics. He knew it might not deal much damage, but it should be disorienting enough and block his vision. August used the concurrence "Windburst" to create a small tornado around the powerful enemy, hoping that when it detonated as it inevitably would, it would launch Cain into the air where the charging Chuck could hit him with one of his limits for massive damage.

Victoria didn't like being alone for so long, but she knew what the plan was and that she would have to stay strong. She was hit by the blastwaves, but luckly nothing else. She ran to the fire wall and waited trying not to be attacked. 'So when will it happen?' Lightning asked. "I dont know, but it will. I know Paul and my sister." Victoria said and prepared to defend herself.

 

Aria, Peterson, and Paul all snuck back into the ladyith and then looked around. "Okay there should be one around here somewhere, but where?" Aria asked. Peterson then noticed something big and huge on the ground, "Is that it?" Aria and Paul looked at it. Paul went up to it to find it was just dust. "This is it. Now if you could just work your time magic Noel." Paul said. Peterson walked over to it, "Please call me Peterson." He then took out his time wand and then touch the dust with it. The dust then started changing until it turned back into the Behemoth that once was the mayor. Aria went over to it and touch its head, "Wow boy, we have brought you back to make sure you can have your revenge. Now lets ride." Aria said and got on it. Paul and Peterson also hopped on top of it. They waited for the perfect moment to come down and save the day.

Cain noticed that he'd been surrounded by the tornado so he decided to think outside of the box, and hit himself with a graviga attack causing himself to be stuck to the floor. After the tornado dissipated he released the graviga attack and ran out of the way of the others. He singled out Victoria who was all the way across the room, and once he was behind her said, "You are a sheep strayed from the pack, and I am a wolf ready to take you from this world!" He then gave a flurry of slashes in her direction hoping that they'd do damage or more...

 

(OOC: Well the behemoth you summoned wasn't the governor, he ate the governor, and while you can bring back the behemoth through the time magic you can't control it unless one of your characters has the inhabitor Serah. Lightning can do it too, but she's still in the dungeon, being attacked.)
