After the overwhelming popularity of the idea, I'm starting this rp. Remember, this takes place in the modern time. So people won't be very happy if you draw your weapon in public. Be careful. Joy sat in the cafe, drinking his coffee slowly. He couldn't believe all of it was real. Final Fantasy, everything. And why Cloud chose him was boyone his understanding. After all, in the games, he was the cool dude. Still, having the Buster Sword was pretty cool. He finished his coffee and walked out slowly. He put his hands in his pockets and tried to imitate Cloud's expression, but he burst out laughing, causing to people around him to look at him. Oh, if only they knew.

Joy saw Mariah falling towards him. Am I...going to die? He felt tears coming out of his eyes. Of course, unless Mariah could catch him. He sighed, and closed his eyes.

Calder jumped off his moped, at the TV station they were talking about. He saw several fights going on, and the whole place was a mess. He looked towards the distance, and saw a man falling out of the window, and a girl chasing after him. He pulled out his sword, and ran into the building.

Mariah kept her body perfectly straight and pointing downward to increase her velocity. She was pretty sure she could reach Joy now. She stretched out her hand and took his, then put her body against his, wrapping her arms around him protectively.

 

“Mariah,” Tifa said fearfully, "what are you going to do when the cable runs out?”

 

Mariah shook her head. I don't know. I don’t want to think about that. All she knew was that she just had to hold on to him. She leaned in and whispered in his ear. “I love you, Joy.”

Joy felt a jolt run through his body when he heard the same three words he said to Mariah. He smiled, and then realizrd what was about to happen when the cord ran out. He pulled his Buster Sword, and tried something desperate. He took his sword, and stabbed it into the wall, stopping both of them, and leaving them hanging. Although this wasn't the best time, he didn't care. He leaned in to kiss Mariah.

Paul fell asleep from passing out from crying too much. Victoria stayed awake because she couldnt sleep. Lightning appeared outside Victoria's body and sat down next to her. "Lightning, why did this have to happen?" Victoria asked. "I dont know. I do, however, feel for you two here. I know what it is like to lose someone you care about." Lightning told her. "Well, now this will be a turning point in our lives." Victoria said. "Yes, it will be. Hey I have an idea, why not talk to someone about it?" Lightning asked her. "Hey, good idea, I know just who to call." Victoria said and called August.

Mariah could barely process what was going on. One moment, they had been falling, and the next, they had stopped, completely unharmed. Then Joy was leaning in to her. She leaned in to him as well, and as they kissed, she forgot all the war and danger around them. She felt more safe than she ever had before in her life.

He let go of Mariah, and looked towards the top of the building. "Well, I guess I have to go. To beat James, you know?" He gave her a gentle smile. "And I promise...I won't come back too hurt this time." He then started climbing and stopped. Wait. He didn't have his Buster Sword. "Uh, what do I do? Do you want to climb up first?"

August launched himself into the plane and immediatly closed the door behind Marcus. Turning to the captain and not quite realizing that the co captain was still outside with some other workers, August shouted "It's time to go!"

Victoria still waited on the phone. "Come on, pick up." Victoria said as she still tried to call August on the phone. Paul was still asleep through all this.

Mariah smiled back at him. “I can pull your sword out for you. Since I’m tethered and all.” Then she reached for it and began to pull.

 

 

 

Jared hesitated.

 

“Better do as he says,” Sazh said. "It's probably not good out there."

 

He groaned. “I’m definitely going to lose my job.” Then he started taking off, with the rest of the team stranded in the Antarctic. “Where to?” he asked August apathetically.

"Umm, it's not a good time right now!" August said upon answering his phone from Victoria. "Me and a guy named Marcus who's Vincent's host just grabbed Jenova's head to take to James to hopefully prevent him from sending a meteor to crash into earth." August then thought about what he just said. My life's gotten really jacked up.

 

"You know what, this is actually as good a time as any considering I can't do much from the inside of a plane."

"Good, cause it is not here." Victoria said. "Paul's sister, Aria, has passed away, and now I have to find a way to cheer Paul up. So I was thinking about a good bye Aria concert back in your town. But I would need your help, after we stopped whatever it is you were talking about." Victoria finished her sentence.

Joy's hands touched, Mariah's and finished pulliong it out. He smiled. "Time to fight James." He then strapped the sword to his back, and started to climb up the side of the building, and jumped in. He looked around, and then saw Livia again. and she was standing in the way. "So, how has life been for you, Livia?" Livia smirked. "Very good. I have more power than you could dream with nothing but that weak little sword." Joy shook his head. "Zack gave this to me. And I'm not going to lose it, and I'm gonna beat you with it!"

Calder ran through the hallways, and up the stairs, looking for where the fight was. He arived at the top, and threw a door open to see a fight going on between people. He grinned. "Tidus is here!"

Be safe, Mariah thought, I’m right behind you. She climbed up the side of the building and got to the top floor shortly after Joy had. When she was back in, she saw Joy confronting an intimidating-looking woman. She also noticed when yet another guy came in and announced, “Tidus is here!” Tidus. Final Fantasy X. Okay, well at least he’s on our side, I’m guessing.

 

Mariah opted to assist Joy against the woman, and ran up next to him.

While everyone's focus switched to Livia, Scardigne remained in headed conflict with James. He charged once more towards James, spinningin a blitz like fashion just as he finished his approach.

Marcus got on board and yelled," Lets get outta here!" He shut the door behing him and looked out the window.

Cain smiled at him and waved in a polite manner. "Marcus, this plane hasn't got any guns...this is going to be bad. He won't just let us get away..."Vincent thought to him. "Vincent, you're right, but don't worry...I have a plan," Marucs said reaching for his phone.

 

"So, we wait for five seconds, and then you take over correct?" Cain thought. "Correct," Caius replied with a slight laugh. This was going to be all too easy.

Jared was completely confused, and he wanted answers. Now. “Hey, Mr. White,” he called back to the governor’s son, “could you tell me what’s going on and why it was so bad out there that we had to leave those men behind? You know I’m as good as fired now, right?” The next part was extremely difficult for him to ask. “Also, um, do you have a voice in your head? Like from a Final Fantasy character, perhaps?” He felt like an idiot as soon as the words came out. Why did I even try to ask that?

"Jared. Those men will be fine, before I did any of this I called my friend who just so happens to be the owner of a large ice breaking ship, and he'll get them. Secondly, your job is safe, and that is because my father will not know where we went or what we did. Heck I'll even put you in for a promotion, and yes....I sort of do have a voice in my head...Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII..." Marcus said quickly. He was rather confused as to why Jared was asking him that...they had talked a few times, but Jared had never delved into Marcus's personal life...

 

Cain watched the ship...5....4.....3...2...1!!! He immediatly let Caius take over, and Caius transformed his body into a flying Behemoth (Like the intro vid to FFXIII-2). He immediatly took off after the ship in hot pursuit.

Jared was relieved by what Marcus was telling him, and he especially like the promotion part. “Yeah, you’re probably wondering why I asked that last question. Well, they got to me, too. I’ve got Sazh Katzroy from Final Fantasy XIII talking to me, and--” He was interrupted when something large showed up on the radar, right behind the jet. “What is that?” he asked, dreading the answer.

Marcus looked behind the plane and exclaimed," Oh shiii...ahhhh! Get us out of here! That's freaking Caius from FFXIII-2's stupid Behemoth mode! It can shoot lightning and crap!!" Vincent sighed and said," Jump out of the plane, and let me take over. But don't you dare forget to bring the gun." Marcus knew better than to question Vincent so he nodded. Then looked at everyone and said," Peace I'm outta here!" He grabbed the gun and flung himself out of the door, and slammed it behind him. Vincent immediately took over and transformed into Chaos. He flew behind the ship and stopped Cain. "Alright you big piece of metallic crap. I'm about to end this!" Vincent said. He whipped out the gun and fired it, but instead of bullets red lasers shot from it. He then flew around the Behemoth firing as he went, and allowed the plane to escape the beast.

“What the hell just happened?!” Jared shouted.

 

“I think Marcus knows what he’s doing. Just get away from that thing!” Sazh said.

 

“Well, alright, here goes.” Jared gunned the engines and sped up the jet, leaving Marcus and the giant monster behind.

"What kind of sky pirate would I be if I let Vincent have all of the fun?" Vaan asked August after August agreed to help with the goodbye concert after they, you know, saved the world, and then hung up the phone.

 

"Oh no you don't!" thought August to Vaan. "We don't even have a long range weapon and we sure as heck can't fly."

 

"Well lets see if we can't change that first part," Vaan continued as he took control of August's body, shouted back to Jared to try to keep the plane pretty level, and stuck his upper torso out of a nearby window, summoning a crossbow which somehow restocked it's own arrows and shooting at the Chaos Behemoth. On occasion he would toss in a Torrent as well to try to nail the beast with massive cannon balls of water.

James dodged his attack, getting behind him. He aimed a kick at his back before saying "It's getting too crowded for my taste, and I've got to prepare for this world's destruction. I've got to be prepared if I'm to merge with the Lifestream and become the god of this world." With that he fled the TV station and flew away.

Scardigne yelled in frustration at having lost James, but quickly composed himself and turned to the rest of the group. "If I can't save this planet from him, then at least I'll have the honor of ridding it of you." Scardigne noticed that Joy and the new comer had already built some animosity. He then turned to Mariah and addressed her. "Even as a Judge, I still have some amount of compassion, so I will save you the fate of seeing those you love die by erasing you first," he said in a completely serious and almost somber tone. He then readied his blades for action and called out "Prepare yourself!"

Jared granted August’s request and took a quick glance to see what he was doing. Apparently he was helping Marcus attack the monster while staying inside the jet. He slowed the craft just enough so that August could be more in range, but they would still be a safe-ish distance away. “Hey, man,” he called back to August, “no guarantees on keeping this thing totally level. That monster could cause some serious turbulence. I could get farther away from it, but would you still be able to shoot it if I did?”

 

 

 

Mariah saw James out of the corner of her eye and turned to look at him as he flew out the window. No! she thought. She clenched her fist, and it was all she could do to contain her utter exasperation. She was getting tired of chasing him down. Of course, if the meteor was still on its way, all of this would cease to matter soon...

 

The independent guy who had been left to fight James one-on-one wasn’t happy, either. Mariah was initially startled when he turned on her, but then she just thought, Seriously?! Why can’t he pick on the psycho lady behind me first?

 

She got in her battle stance. She wanted to help Joy, but she also knew that there would be no helping him at all if she was dead. “Alright, but may I at least have the privilege of knowing your name before I take you out?” she replied with sarcasm in her tone.

Scardigne:

"Take me out, hmm? A foolish thought. Those two behind you will wear each other out and one may even fall to the other, so I leave them to it for now. I am Scardigne, host of the inhabiter Judge Gabranth. Judging by your fighting style, you are most likely the inhabiter of Tifa Lockheart. As for your name, well what use has a corpse for a name?" Scardigne smirked and span his blades quickly, creating a small tornado to throw at Mariah.

 

August:

Vaan, still in control of August because, well, August was still freaking out a little, leaned back in and responded to Jared. "You're gonna have to stay pretty close for me to be able to hit him. Don't worry about turbulence, though, I've had much worse than this in my time as a sky pirate." With that he stuck his head back out into the open air and continued his assault on the man/beast.
