Ok not long ago I started a topic with my frustation over the hype surrounding KHIII. Well this topic is a bit similar. It seems that everyone who is anticipating KHIII are looking forward to the keyblade war. While the idea of Sora starting an army does sound cool, as far as I know this was never confirmed. Maybe there is an interview that I missed, Im only human. However, I haven't heard this announcement. The Keyblade Wars was something that happened before BBS that sparked Xehanorts curiosity. While he did seem eager to start a second Keyblade War lets remember that he did fail. I dont think the KH series is going to rehash this idea, making us go through it all over again.

 

Anyways, as much sense as Sora's army makes, I dont think its going to happen. KH1 ended with hints of a search for a door to Light. Such a search never happened. KH2FM ended with hints of a Room of Awakening. While we saw the creation of that room, thats really all we saw about it. And so forth. I do believe that the Keyblade Wars ends in BBS. I also believe KHIII will be about something else entirely.

 

But again, maybe I missed something. So why the hype and certainty of a Second Keyblade War being the premise for KHIII?

The upcoming Keyblade war is a myth as most KH fans know.

After the secret ending of KH II which shows many fallen Keyblades in the Keyblade Graveyard many people thought that the actions will take place in KH III which was obviously wrong since we know now that these scenes happen in BBS.

 

Also after KH II came out, many fake images popped up on the Internet showing the PS3 case of "KH III" with the title "The Keyblade Wars".

The true Keyblade Wars happened way before Birth by Sleep. Xehanort even says that he doesn't know how long ago they were.

 

The fans are just giving themselves what they want: Dumbledore's Sora's Army. They want a big, climactic conclusion form KH3.

 

Nomura said that KH3 was the end of the Xehanort saga, and (I think I heard this along time ago. I have no references right now.) that if he did tell the story of the Keyblade Wars, that it would be as a prequel series.

Well before the Keyblade Wars there were hundreds possibly thousands of Keyblade wielders and even in BBS it was implied that there were many more than those in the game yet in the decade between BBS and KH1 the only active Keybalde wielder was Mickey. I think that even if there isn't another Keyblade War the ranks of Keyblade Wielders are being rebuilt so that they may once again protect the worlds from corruption. If Kingdom Hearts (the world) itself is sentient as it has been implied then its entirely possible that it chooses more Keyblade wielders when they are most needed.

^ KH3 will end the Xehanort saga. I believe Sora and Riku will stop like Terra, Ven, and Aqua. Maybe the War will be started by someone else.

i think we're going to see a lot more keyblade wielders after khIII so i wouldn't get annoyed just yet. I mean we still have to learn how the keyblade wielders are chosen, the history of keyblades and why they exist .. i mean they're a huge part of the main plot of this game.

There isn't gonna be another Keyblade War. If anything, they'll go back and make a super-prequel taking place 1000 or something years before the Xehanort saga, explaining the Keyblade War.
