Posted February 17, 201213 yr Just a poem I wrote. Well, I think it would be a poem, though I am not "genre savvy" with poetry to say the least. So yeah, I am probably just driving people away now... Well, with out further ado: Outcast I am the outcast, behind this veil I hide. I am an outcast, behind this mask I cry. I am the outcast, my mind cold and calculating. Behind a veil of mystery, I hide myself from eyes the of prying. I am an outcast, you see only my light. Behind a mask of happiness, darkness does lie. I am the outcast, scared of all who approach. Though I seem calm to you, behind my mask of composed complexion. I am the outcast, not a single friend to my name. We may jest together, but inside we are not the same. I am an outcast, to you I stand stalwart and proud. Inside I kneel weak and helpless, the fear corrupting me. I am the outcast, you see me and know nothing. To some I am an intellect, and others beyond comprehending. I am an outcast, but do not wander nor tarry. For on the outside I am gilded, and inside condescending. I am the outcast, but you see what I show. Behind a mask of half-hearted truths, I live in a world all my own. I am an outcast, but to myself I fit in. To you I may be different, but to me you are completely foreign. I am the outcast, but do not feel sorry. Understanding one another, is a conclusion long forgone. I am an outcast, scared and sorrowful. But I am one of you, happy and carefree. I may be an outcast, but what are you to me? You connect me, to a world unbeknownst. You and I are not so different, in life and death we are one. I am the outcast, but to me we all are human. My ideas may be different, possibly nonsensical to you. But all are citizens of this earth, and in this I belong. Edited January 11, 201312 yr by DragonMaster

February 17, 201213 yr That is a great poem. see you shouldn't down grade yourself, its a nice one you made.
February 17, 201213 yr Author Thanks guys! I am glad you like it. I was "inspired" two nights ago when I was feeling really depressed, but luckily I don't feel like that often (only when i get very stressed out). And I guess I am hard on myself because I don't often write poetry. Anyway, thanks again for your comments.
March 20, 201213 yr WOW! Yeah, that was me for a few years... Kinda makes me think of the Phantom of the Opera.

Outcast
I am the outcast,
behind this veil I hide.
I am an outcast,
behind this mask I cry.
I am the outcast,
my mind cold and calculating.
Behind a veil of mystery,
I hide myself from eyes the of prying.
I am an outcast,
you see only my light.
Behind a mask of happiness,
darkness does lie.
I am the outcast,
scared of all who approach.
Though I seem calm to you,
behind my mask of composed complexion.
I am the outcast,
not a single friend to my name.
We may jest together,
but inside we are not the same.
I am an outcast,
to you I stand stalwart and proud.
Inside I kneel weak and helpless,
the fear corrupting me.
I am the outcast,
you see me and know nothing.
To some I am an intellect,
and others beyond comprehending.
I am an outcast,
but do not wander nor tarry.
For on the outside I am gilded,
and inside condescending.
I am the outcast,
but you see what I show.
Behind a mask of half-hearted truths,
I live in a world all my own.
I am an outcast,
but to myself I fit in.
To you I may be different,
but to me you are completely foreign.
I am the outcast,
but do not feel sorry.
Understanding one another,
is a conclusion long forgone.
I am an outcast,
scared and sorrowful.
But I am one of you,
happy and carefree.
I may be an outcast,
but what are you to me?
You connect me,
to a world unbeknownst.
You and I are not so different,
in life and death we are one.
I am the outcast,
but to me we all are human.
My ideas may be different,
possibly nonsensical to you.
But all are citizens of this earth,
and in this I belong.
