Tales of Graces takes place on a planet known as Ephinea. The people of Ephinea use a substance called eleth which is formed from giant crystal-like structures called valkines cryas which has allowed civilizations on the planet to flourish. On Ephinea there are three kingdoms—Windor, Strahta, and Fendel—who are competing for dominance of the planet. In the remote region of Windor lies the city of Lhant. The eldest son of the baron Aston, Asbel, is a bright and cheerful boy who spent his childhood like any other carefree boy does: enjoying everyday together with his irreplaceable friends. After a certain incident awoke a new desire in Asbel, he decided to enlist himself in a knight's academy in the capital in order to gain the power to protect others. Tales of Graces takes place seven years after the incident. In his eighth year, Asbel has grown up and established himself as a fine knight. However, at the death of his father, Aston, he gives up his dream to become a knight and takes over his father's position of Lhant's baron. The story of the game was really fantastic. With the characters going from children who live a carefree life and have nothing to worry abiout. To young adults who have folowed their own paths and differences. I really found the voice acting to be perfect to. Each voice actor fit their character just perfectly. The ending was pretty great as well. I loved every minute of Tales of Graces F
Gameplay:
The gameplay is just perfect The battle system used for tales of Graces F is the "Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System" (SS-LiMBS). In this system, characters have two different fighting styles to choose from. The A-style artes are pre-determined, however you can set the B-style artes, and the player is able to freely switch between the styles in battle. I also really liked how charatcers can side-step ina 360 degree turn. it was quite a change from the previous Tales Of games. I find the gameplay to be a bit of a mix of Final Fantasy and Kingdom hearts series. it still has the elements of any JRPG game, but with gameplay that allows you to move freely and not just wait until it's your turn to choose what attack you wan your character to do unlike with Final Fantasy series. it is definitely a big improvement from Tales of Graces (Wii version), with a little more content added to it.
Presentation:
Tales of graces F may not be the greatest Tales Of game out there compared to Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Vesperia, but it does have better gameplay than previous Tales Of games like I stated before. It proves itself to be a game worth picking up and buying for your PS3. It greatly surpasses both Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2 in every way. Althrough it's a bit too simple as well with it's linear path. but that doesn't stop me from putting the game down. the story is just so dramatic and great. Heck, I think it's the best JRPG out there for the PS3 and that it's a must-have for PS3 owners to pick up and play. if you love JRPG-type of games. Then I am sure that you will love Tales of Graces F.
Verdict:
All-in-all, it's a great JRPG and pretty much beats any JRPG for the PS3. So I will give it an 9.0
