CHAPTER 1:

ETERNAL RIVALRY

EXT. RICHIE’S HOUSE-AFTERNOON

Dirk (narration): The thrill of the fight! Man it just gets my blood racing!

(The scene opens to two young men fist fighting in the backyard of a house. One of the men is built like a championship boxer. He has light brown hair, cut short. He is wearing a bright red gi and a black belt around his waist. His name is Dirk and he is the main character of this tale. The other fighter is shirtless, wearing gray sweatpants and is wearing sunglasses. Funny enough, he is sporting a mullet. He has a goatee and scraggly chin hair. His name is Richie. Richie seems to be the weaker of the two and is struggling to fight back against Dirk.)

Richie: Take it easy, man!

(Richie puts up his arms to block Dirk’s kick. His arms get knocked aside and Dirk punches him in the face. Richie falls to the ground.)

Dirk: Get up, Richie! You’re fine and you know it!

Richie: Nope, I think I might be dying. You hit me pretty hard, you know.

Dirk: Haha! Get up!

(Dirk puts out his hand and helps Richie up. Richie hurries over to the nearby tree and slumps down next to it. He picks up a beer, lying

on the ground and chugs it down. Dirk looks over at the pile of empty beer bottles on the ground.)

Dirk: You have a real problem, man.

(Richie throws the, now empty, beer bottle over with the rest of them.)

Richie: So, do you. You’re addicted to fighting.

(Richie hiccups.)

Richie: They’re both probably going to get us killed.

(Dirk sighs.)

Dirk: There’s no reasoning with you, is there.

(Dirk sits down next to Richie, puts his hands behind his head and closes his eyes. Richie hiccups.)

Richie: Nope.

(They sit for a moment, in silence.)

Richie: So, when’s that tournament start?

Dirk: I leave in a week. You know I wish you would go.

Richie: I ain’t got the money.

Dirk: That’s how you afford all this beer, huh?!

Richie: …What was the question, again?

Dirk: You’re drunk.

Richie: Haha, penguins. They’re so fat.

Dirk: I’m out.

(Dirk gets up and leaves.)

INT. VICKSBURG

(Dirk is walking down the road, with his hands in his pocket.)

Dirk(narration): I can’t really stay mad at Richie. He might be an airhead, but he’s the only friend I’ve ever had.

EXT. VICKSBURG-MORNING-14 years prior

(A seven year old Dirk is sitting in the back of an old Buick. He looks out his window to see a small southern town. His parents are sitting at the front of the vehicle, with his father driving. His mother reaches back and ruffles his hair. They drive through the town and reach a road leading into the woods. They eventually come upon a small cabin. The vehicle comes to a stop and they get out. Dirk’s mother opens up the door and helps him out of his car seat. She sets him on the ground and takes a hold of his hand.)

Dirk(narration): We had lived up north in Pennsylvania. But, my dad lost his job, so we had to move down south to live with my grandparents.

(Dirk and his mother walk toward the house.)

Mother: This is going to be our new home, Dirk!

(They walk up to the door and his father knocks. Two old hillbilly types open the door, to greet them.)

Grandfather: Well, howdy there strangers!

Dirk(narration): I was in hillbilly hell.

INT. DIRK’S HOME

(Dirk’s grandmother is pinching his cheeks and speaking to him as if he were a baby.)

Grandmother: Ooh! You’re so precious; you’re just as cute as a button!

Dirk(narration): She meant well, but damn if I she didn’t annoy the living shit out of me. But, they weren’t the worst part about it.

EXT. VICKSBURG ELEMENTARY

(Dirk is standing at the sidewalk of his elementary school. He is looking up at the school, as if waiting for something to happen. The other kids walk right by him, without taking notice. He eventually walks up the steps and enters his classroom. He sits down in an empty seat

and looks around at the other students. The teacher walks in and the classroom settles down.)

Teacher: Hello class! My name is Miss Stacey! Looks like we have quite the “crad” in here!

Dirk(narration): What the hell is a crad?!

Miss Stacey: I’d like each of y’all to go take turns telling e’rebody your names and a wee bit about yourself!

Dirk(narration): I wanted to participate, but I didn’t know even know what the hell she was saying!

(Dirk watches the other students and realizes what he’s supposed to do. It’s now time for Dirk to take his turn. He, nervously, stands up.)

Dirk: H-hi. My name is Dirk Mancini. I like to draw and go for wualks.

Student: Whatcha like to do?

Dirk: Huh? Uh, I like to go for wualks?

Student: Oh, he means wowlks!

(The other students laugh at the way Dirk pronounces the work walk.)

Miss Stacey: Awlright, class! That’s enough! It’s nice to meet you, Dirk!

CHAPTER 11:

Mr. Sabato: Next up will be Kaizo Ryuuga vs. Lester Malone’s android!

(Kaizo and Lester’s android walk up onto the stage.)

Dirk: Even if he doesn’t have a chance in hell at winning this match, at least I can see how he fights.

Mr. Sabato: Begin!

(The android rushes at Kaizo, but he disappears, similar to Spike.)

Dirk: Wow! He’s about as fast as Spike is!

(Kaizo appears behind the android and kicks him in the back of the head. He disappears again and then appears in front of the android, kicking him in the stomach. He rapidly disappears and reappears all around the android, kicking and punching him multiple times. The android stumbles around, unable to keep up with Kaizo. Its head spins around, signifying that it is starting to malfunction. Dr. Malone, who is sitting on the other side of the stadium, begins to freak out.)

Lester: What the hell is going on?! How is this possible?!

(Kaizo rushes toward the android and punches a hole through its chest. The crowd goes wild, as Kaizo removes his arm from his chest. He then grabs the back of the android’s head and pulls it toward his knee. His knee collides with the android’s head, smashing it to pieces. The android falls to the ground and shuts down. The paramedics walk up to the stage, put the remains on a stretcher, bring the body over to Dr. Malone and drop it on the floor next to him.)

Lester: Dammit! How could my beautiful creation be destroyed by a human?! There’s no way a human fist could have penetrated your metallic exterior!

Spike: That sounded pretty gay, bro! But, hey, whatever you’re into!

Mr. Sabato: That ends Day 2 of the tournament! Two days from now, we will hold the semi-finals! I hope to see each and every one of you there!

(As the fans rise to their feet, Dirk quickly gets up and rushes after Kaizo. Kaizo is making his way out of the stadium and heading for the hotel. Dirk rushes across the street and finally catches up to him.)

Dirk: Hey, Kaizo!

(Kaizo stops and turns around to face Dirk.)

Dirk: Hey, I just wanted to ask you how you learned to fight like that.

Kaizo: Why?

Dirk: Uh, just wanted some pointers, you know. I figured it might help make me a better fighter!

Kaizo: If you don’t mind me asking, why would you want to be a better fighter?

Dirk: Well, it’s something I enjoy doing.

Kaizo: You enjoy hurting others?

Dirk: No, not necessarily. I just enjoy the sport. It’s all about the competition!

Kaizo: I’m sorry, but I don’t understand. I don’t think I ever will.

Dirk: Then why did you enter the tournament, if you don’t like to fight?

Kaizo: I have my reasons.

Dirk: Well, for someone who hates to fight, you sure are good at it!

Kaizo: I guess so. I’m not really sure that I know what I’m doing.

Dirk: Really? Well, how did you learn to fight?

Kaizo: I’m mostly just improvising.

Dirk: …What?!

Kaizo: I just work out, you know, stay in shape and then when I actually have to fight someone… I just wing it.

(Dirk stares at Kaizo, in disbelief.)

Kaizo: I apologize for hurting you the other day, but I had no choice. I need that prize money and I will sacrifice my sanity to get it.

(Kaizo turns around and walks into the hotel. Dirk drops to his knees, horrified that he lost to an amateur.)

CHAPTER 12:

INT. DIRK’S ROOM

(Dirk is sitting at the edge of his bed. After a while, he quickly gets up and grabs the wine sitting on his dresser. He throws the glass against the wall, smashing it. All of a sudden, he hears a knock at the door. He calms down and opens the door. Grace and Spike are standing in the hallway.)

Grace: Hey, you alright? We didn’t see you at the party, so we got worried.

Dirk: Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just kind of tired.

Kiki: There you are!

Grace: Shit!

Kiki: I’ve been looking everywhere for you! Hi, Dirk!

Dirk: Hey, Kiki.

Kiki: We should all hang out!

Spike: Nah, Dirk says he’s tired and so am I. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.

(Spike walks away and Dirk shuts his door.)

Kiki: GOOD NIGHT, SPIKE! Then I guess it’s just you and me!

Grace: Are you sure you don’t want to get some rest? You’ve got a match early tomorrow!

Kiki: I’ll be fine silly! I barely got any sleep before our match!

(Grace sighs, unable to make any more excuses.)

Grace: What do you want to do then?

Kiki: I don’t know! We could do lots of things!

Grace: Why do you want to hang out with me, anyway?

Kiki: Because, I want us to be friends!

Grace: Why do you want to be friends with me? You don’t even know me!

Kiki: I’ve never had a friend before. It sounds like fun!

Grace: What do you mean?

Kiki: I mean, I’ve never had a friend before. Other than my family, you would be my first!

Grace: You can’t be serious, everyone has a friend!

Kiki: Not everyone has a friend! I don’t! I just told you that! Pay attention, silly!

Grace: But, how is that even possible?! You never had a friend? Not even one, at some point when you were a kid and in school?

Kiki: Nope. A lot of kids made fun of me, when I first started school.

Grace: Why?

Kiki: I tried to play with the other kids, but they all made fun of me!

Grace: What for?

Kiki: I got into a lot of fights, growing up. There was this one time, I got into a fight, over a game of kickball!

EXT. KIKI’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL- 16 years ago

(A flashback plays of a kindergarten version of Kiki playing kickball. Kiki runs up and kicks the ball, nailing another kid in the gut. He hits the ground and vomits. Kiki runs around the bases, laughing. She appears to not even realize that she hit the kid. Once she reaches home plate, she starts hopping up and down. She looks over and sees everyone crowded around the kid that she hit. One of the kids looks over and sees Kiki hopping up and down.)

Kid #1: You think that’s funny!

(Kiki stops hopping and stares at the kid, confused.)

Kid #2: You made Brain puke!

Kiki: I did?

(Kid #1 storms over to Kiki.)

Kid #1: What did he ever do to you, huh?!

Kiki: All I did was kick the ball!

(The kid pushes her, but Kiki only stumbles slightly. She gets mad and punches him in the face. The kid falls to the ground and grabs his face, crying.)

Teacher: Kiki!

(Kiki turns around and sees the teacher running toward her. The teacher grabs her arm and pulls her toward the building.)

Teacher: Young ladies should not behave this way!

Kiki: But, he pushed me!

Teacher: No “buts” young lady! I’m calling your parents!

EXT. PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE-16 years ago

(Kiki is sitting outside of the principal’s office. She is swinging her feet back and forth, waiting for her mom and dad, to stop talking to the principal. The yelling can be heard from outside of the room.)

Dad: She was playing kickball, sir! If you’re playing a sport, you should expect that someone could get hurt! It was an accident!

Principal: Brian wasn’t the only student injured by your daughter!

Dad: The kid pushed her! She was only standing up for herself!

Principal: The reason does not matter! A young lady should never resort to violence!

Mom: So, you’re saying that it’s okay for a young boy to fight back!

Principal: That’s not what I meant.

Dad: That’s what you said!

(The principal sighs and covers his face with both of his hands. He removes his hands and stands up from his seat.)

Principal: The bottom line is that this can’t happen. I will not allow students fighting, in my school.

(Kiki’s father sits up from his seat and leans in, looking the principal in the eyes.)

Dad: I will not allow my daughter to be punished, for sticking up for herself.

(Kiki’s parents get up and leave the office. Kiki looks up at her parents.)

Kiki: I’m sorry! I won’t do it, ever again!

(Kiki’s father leans down and smiles at his daughter.)

Dad: You’re not in trouble, sweetheart. You didn’t do anything wrong.

(Kiki smiles and hugs her father. He lifts her up and carries her out of the school, followed by her mom.)

INT. KIKI’S ROOM-16 years ago

(Kiki is in her “My Little Pony” pajamas. She climbs into her bed and her mom tucks her in. Her mom sits down on her bed and smiles at her, while she caresses her head.)

Mom: Sweetheart, I want you to know that just because you didn’t get in trouble, doesn’t mean that hitting a person is okay. You need to understand that you didn’t get in trouble, because he hit you first. Don’t just hit someone, because they make you angry, okay.

Kiki: Okay!

(Kiki’s mom kisses her forehead and then gets up from the bed.)

Kiki: I love you, mommy!

Mom: I love you too, sweetie!

INT. KIKI’S HOMETOWN-16 years ago

(Kiki is skipping down the sidewalk, following a butterfly. Suddenly, a group of children run up and push her to the ground. The boys start throwing rocks at her. She screams and cries for help. Four boys come running around the corner tackle and beat up the group of boys. Now that Kiki is free to get back on her feet, she gets up and helps beat up the group. The group of kids runs away, bruised and bleeding. The eldest boy picks up Kiki and carries her away, while the other boys follow.)

Kiki: Thanks, guys.

Eldest boy: Anytime, sis.

(Tears gush out of Kiki’s eyes, as she wraps her arms tight around her brother’s neck.)

INT. KIKI’S ROOM-Present Day

(Kiki and Grace are sitting in Kiki’s hotel room, eating ice cream and drinking wine. Kiki is sprawled out on one end of her bed, while Grace is curled up on the other.)

Grace: Wow, I wish I had brothers like that. Four of them?

Kiki: Yep!

Grace: I’m an only child, so I can only imagine how cool it would be.

Kiki: Yeah, they’ve always been there for me. They wanted to come to the tournament and watch me fight, but they all have jobs and they couldn’t get time off. I understand, though. They said they’d come another year!

(They sit in silence, for a moment.)

Grace: So, you never made any friends after that?

Kiki: No. Everyone hated me. I went to the same school, until I graduated, so it was all the same people. All the guys hated me because they were afraid of me and all the girls hated me because all the guys hated me.

Grace: School must’ve been pretty rough.

Kiki: Yeah, but I guess if it hadn’t have happened that way, then I wouldn’t be tough! Then, I wouldn’t have entered into this tournament and we never would’ve met!

Grace: Yeah, I guess you could look at it like that.

Kiki: …Grace.

Grace: Yeah?

Kiki: I’m glad I nailed that kid with a kickball.

CHAPTER 13:

INT. SABATO COLISEUM-MORNING

(The four remaining contestants, Spike, Kaizo, John, and Kiki, line up at the sideline. Grace and Dirk are sitting next to each other in the bleachers. Grace yawns.)

Dirk: You sound pretty tired.

Grace: Yeah, I didn’t get much sleep last night.

Dirk: How come?

Grace: Kiki and I were up until 4 in the morning, just talking.

Dirk: Really? I thought you didn’t like her.

Grace: I didn’t, but she’s not who I expected. She’s actually pretty cool.

Dirk: You said you were up until 4 in the morning?

Grace: Yeah.

Dirk: Kiki looks like she got plenty of sleep.

(Kiki is at the sideline, happily hopping up and down.)

Grace: That girl has way too much energy.

Mr. Sabato: We have reached the semi-finals for this year’s tournament!

(The crowd lets out a loud cheer of approval.)

Mr. Sabato: Our first match for the day will be Kiki Jones vs. Samurai John!

(Kiki skips up to the stage, followed by John.)

Mr. Sabato: Begin!

(John unsheathes his bamboo blade.)

John: I do not wish to harm you, fair maiden!

Kiki: You talk really funny! Say something else!

(John looks at Kiki, in confusion.)

John: Um, what would you have me say, dear maiden?

(Kiki bursts out laughing.)

Mr. Sabato: Uhhhh, are you two going to fight or what?

Kiki: Oh yeah!

(Kiki lunges at John, with her fist ready. John dodges her fist and whacks her in the stomach with his blade. Kiki lands on the ground and grabs a hold of his bamboo blade. She yanks it out of his hand and thrusts the hilt of it into his stomach. John hunches over. She smacks him in the chin, with the hilt. John grabs his face, as she tosses it aside. She kicks him in the face, launching him off the stage. John lifts his head off the ground, but quickly falls unconscious. Mr. Sabato walks over to Kiki.)

Mr. Sabato: So, Ms. Jones, you have made it to the finals! Do you have anything you would like to say to your fans?

Kiki: I have fans!?

Mr. Sabato: Of course!

Kiki: That’s freaking awesome!

(Part of the crowd cheers and the rest of them laugh. Mr. Sabato laughs at Kiki’s naïve response. Kiki skips off the stage, humming to herself.)

Mr. Sabato: Next up will be the final match of the semi-finals! Kaizo Ryuuga vs. Spike Thomas!

Dirk: Spike’s done for. Spike and Kaizo are both insanely fast, but Spike is weak and Kaizo is strong. If Kaizo even lands one hit, Spike won’t wake up for a week.

(Spike and Kaizo are facing each other on the stage. Sweat is seeping from Spike’s forehead.)

Mr. Sabato: Begin!

(They both disappear in the blink of an eye. The crowd sits in silence, waiting for the two fighters to reappear. All of sudden, Kaizo appears and rams his foot into the stage. Spike appears beneath Kaizo and leaps out of the way. Spike flips around Kaizo, dodging his kick. Spike grabs Kaizo’s hair and flings him aside. But, Kaizo doesn’t make it very far, before planting his feet to the ground and disappearing. Spike freaks out and disappears, once more. Spike appears on the ground, lying on his back. He quickly rolls backwards onto his feet, dodging Kaizo’s punch. Spike leaps to the side, dodging a follow-up punch from Kaizo. Spike turns and tries to run away, but Kaizo grabs a hold of his collar and spins him around. Spike turns around, just in time, to be punched in the stomach. The punch launches him across the stadium, into the wall beneath the stands.)

Mr. Sabato: Amazing!

(Mr. Sabato walks over to Kaizo, who is already walking away from the stage.)

Mr. Sabato: Mr. Ryuuga! You have made it to the finals! Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Kaizo: No.

(Kaizo leaves the stadium, while the crowd watches on in awe.)

CHAPTER 14:

Grace: Damn, what a jerk!

Dirk: What the hell’s his problem? Is he that arrogant?

(Dirk clenches his fists, filling up with anger. The paramedics scoop Spike’s unconscious body off the ground. Kiki rushes up the stairs to greet Grace and Dirk. The fans are making their way out of the stadium, eagerly awaiting the final match.)

Kiki: Hey, guys! Did you enjoy the match?

Grace: Yeah, but Kiki are you sure you’ll be alright fighting that guy?

Kiki: You mean, Kaizo? Yeah, it’s just a fight! It’ll be fun!

Grace: …If you say so.

(Grace and Kiki look at Dirk and see that he’s still quite angry.)

Grace: Dirk, are you alright?

(Dirk doesn’t answer. He just continues to clench his fists, angrily.)

Grace: Dirk?

(Grace puts her hand on his shoulders. He snaps out of it and looks at Grace, in confusion.)

Dirk: Huh?

Grace: Are you alright?

Dirk: Uh, yeah, that just really bugged me. Guys like that have no respect for anything or anyone.

Grace: Don’t worry about it; it’s got nothing to do with you.

Dirk: It has everything to do with me! I lost to that guy! How could I lose to someone like that?

Grace: Fighting ability has nothing to do with your personality or morals, Dirk. Just accept that he beat you and work to get stronger.

Kiki: Yeah! What Grace said!

(Dirk looks away, still somewhat angry. He soon gets up and leaves.)

Kiki: What a sourpuss.

Grace: Haha, yeah, I suppose you’re right. Well, forget about him, he’ll get over it. I’m starving, let’s go get some lunch!

Kiki: Alrighty!

(Grace gets up and walks down the steps, while Kiki somersaults down the steps.)

INT. SABATO HOTEL

(Dirk is walking down the hall, when he sees Kaizo swiping his card to enter his hotel room.)

Dirk: Hey, Kaizo!

(Kaizo stops and looks at Dirk, who is running up to him.)

Dirk: What’s your problem, man?

Kaizo: I’m not sure I follow?

Dirk: Why didn’t you say anything to your fans? They come out to the tournament to see you fight, everyday! Don’t you respect them for supporting you?

Kaizo: I find it hard to respect those who support me hurting others.

Dirk: Then why are you here?! If you hate fighting so much, what’s the point?! You’re such a hypocrite!

Kaizo: You’re right, I am a hypocrite. Every time I step onto that stage, I die a little inside. But, I will do it a thousand times over if I have to.

(Kaizo steps into his room and slams the door shut. Dirk turns and punches the wall, cracking it a bit. He storms off, not at all trying to calm down.)

INT. DIRK’S ROOM

(Dirk is washing his face off in his bathroom, finally trying to calm down. He hears a knock at the door. He steps out of the bathroom and opens the door. He sees Grace and Kiki. They’re both holding fast-food take-out bags. Kiki is stuffing her face with curly fries.)

Grace: Hey, you calmed down yet?

Dirk: A bit.

Grace: You want to go for a walk; we’ve got to work off all this food!

Kiki: Hahahaha! Grace you don’t need to work off anything, you barely ate!

Grace: At least I don’t eat like a pig!

Kiki: I don’t eat like a pig! Pigs are tiny, there’s no way they could eat as much as me!

Grace: God, you’re such an oinker!

(Kiki sticks her tongue out at Grace and then continues to shovel her fries into her mouth.)

INT. THE STREETS OF TOKYO

(They’re walking down the street, Dirk and Grace walking normally, while Kiki tries to balance on the nearby rails.)

Grace: So, Kiki do you have a plan for your fight next week?

Kiki: Not really, I don’t make plans for fights. If I do, I’ll just try too hard to make the fight go a certain way. If he sees through that, then I’m screwed. I’ll just improvise.

Grace: Good point.

Dirk: Kiki, you’re a pretty good fighter. What kind of training have you done to get to where you are?

Kiki: Not much, really. I just sparred a lot with my brothers and I fought with a lot of the neighborhood kids growing up. I never really practiced.

Dirk: What the hell? Kaizo said almost the same damn thing! He said that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He just improvises! I don’t understand it! I’ve trained day in and day out and yet there are fighters like you two that can just wing it and be the best fighters out there!

Grace: Dirk, you’ve got to realize that there is always going to be someone out there who’s better than you at something.

Dirk: Oh, yeah! Well who’s better than Kiki and Kaizo, huh?! No one’s better than them otherwise they wouldn’t be in the finals!

Grace: How do you know that there isn’t someone out there even stronger than them, that didn’t enter the tournament?

Dirk: How do you know that there is?!

Grace: You better calm down, asshole! We’re your friends here! We’re not out to get you like you seem to think we are! What the hell is your problem?!

Dirk: I can’t stand it! He kicked my ass, like it was nothing! But, he doesn’t even try! He doesn’t even care! This was something I thought I was good at, but I come here and I find out that I’m nothing! All that time training was wasted!

Grace: You grew up in a small town. You should’ve known that the world is a big place, filled with a lot of people; people that may have trained harder than you, or may be more talented than you.

Dirk: Yeah, but I didn’t expect to lose my first fight!

Grace: First of all, you beat out over 200 other competitor’s scores to reach that fight. That in itself is an accomplishment. Second of all, you ended up being paired up with one of the people that went on to the finals! It’s not like he got his ass kicked the next match he had! You’re kicking your own ass harder than he did!

Kiki: Haha! Good one, Grace!

Grace: Just train harder and then come back next year. Maybe, you’ll have a shot then. Or maybe, you’ll even get to have a rematch with Kaizo. But, that won’t happen if you don’t try again!

(Kiki leaps down from the rail and lands in front of Grace and Dirk.)

Kiki: Guys, I want you to promise me something. I want you to promise me that you’ll both come back next year. No matter what the outcome of my match is, I will come back next year. But, it won’t be the same without both of you here. Can you promise me that you’ll come back and we’ll hang out just like we’re doing right now?

Grace: Of course!

(They both look at Dirk.)

Dirk: …Yeah, I promise.

(Tears run down Kiki’s cheek. She leaps at them and picks them both up, hugging them.)

Kiki: Thank you, so much! I love you both!

Dirk: Kiki!

Kiki: Yeah?

Grace: We can’t breathe!

(Kiki quickly drops them.)

Kiki: Heheh! Sorry!

INT. COLISEUM-ONE WEEK LATER

(Kiki and Kaizo are standing on stage and the bleachers are packed. The crowd is cheering, happily awaiting the start of the final match. Bars rise up from the side of the stadium, stopping the two contestants from leaving the stage. Mr. Sabato lifts his microphone up to his mouth and smiles.)

Mr. Sabato: LET THE FINALS….BEGIN!

CHAPTER 15:

(Kaizo disappears, but Kiki stands still showing no fear. Suddenly, she dips her head to the side dodging a punch from Kaizo. He leaps into the air and tries to kick the side of her head, but she ducks underneath his leg and slides in behind him. She cracks him in the back of the head with her left fist. The crowd goes wild, completely surprised that Kaizo has been hit for the first time since the tournament began.)

Dirk: Holy shit!

Grace: She landed a hit!

(Kaizo falls forward, but quickly catches himself using his hands. He does a handstand and then swings his legs around, kicking Kiki in the face. Kiki does a side-flip in midair, landing on her feet. She runs at Kaizo, blood flying off of her lip. He disappears. She stops and quickly turns to her left. She puts up her elbow and blocks his kick.)

Grace: How does she react in time?!

Dirk: She’s just that good! She’s been fighting for so long, that she can somehow sense him coming! At least, that’s what it seems like.

(Kiki reaches out, with her free arm, and grabs Kaizo’s leg. She swings him over her head and tries to slam him into the ground. He swings his free leg around and lands on it. He thrusts his captured leg forward, throwing her off balance. She stumbles back and he rushes forward. He tries to punch her in the face, but she dodges. She tries to punch his chin, but he dodges. He tries to kick her in the side, but she catches his leg. She tries to punch him in the face, but he dips to the side and wrestles his leg out of her grip. He punches her stomach and then lands a devastating blow to the side of her face. But, Kiki stands her ground and thrusts her forehead into his. He stumbles back and she rushes up, elbowing him in the stomach.)

Grace: Damn! She might just win!

Dirk: I think you’re right!

(Kiki uses her free arm to land a powerful uppercut to Kaizo’s chin. Kaizo falls on his back. He quickly turns over and lifts himself up, supporting his body with his hands and knees. He wipes the blood from his forehead. He stands up and turns around, facing Kiki.)

Kaizo: You’re pretty violent for a young lady.

Kiki: I’ve been told that, before.

(Kiki smiles at Kaizo. Kaizo sighs.)

Kaizo: Unfortunately, it doesn’t make this any easier.

(Kaizo disappears. Kiki closes her eyes and listens. Kaizo appears beneath her. He goes to kick her into the air, but she drops onto her back clutches his outstretched leg in between both of her legs. She flips Kaizo into the bars behind her. She rolls up and rushes over. She grabs his head and slams his face into the bars a few times. Kaizo becomes increasingly angry.)

Kaizo: No….NO….NOOOO! I WON’T LOSE, NOT WHEN THERE’S SO MUCH AT STAKE!

(Kaizo reaches both arms out and grasps the bars, stopping Kiki from being able to thrust his face into the bars. The bars collapse from the force of his hands. He kicks her in the stomach and turns around clubbing her in the face. He grabs her by one of her ponytails and pulls her face toward his knee. Her face collides with his knee and she falls to the ground, unconscious. Kaizo wipes the blood from his face and walks away from her body, disoriented. The bars, that are surrounding the stage, lower and Kaizo steps down, stumbling around. Mr. Sabato walks over and helps him over to a nearby bench. Grace rushes down to check on Kiki. The paramedics are putting her on a stretcher, as she leaps onto the stage.)

Grace: Kiki! Kiki! Wake up! Are you okay?!

(Kiki’s eyes flutter open, but just barely.)

Kiki: I don’t know why, but I can’t feel my toes. Did I win?

(Grace laughs and wipes the blood off of Kiki’s face. The paramedics carry her away.)

Mr. Sabato: That was an excellent fight Mr. Ryuuga! I hope you plan on returning next year?

Kaizo: More than likely.

Mr. Sabato: Excellent!

(Mr. Sabato lifts the microphone to his mouth.)

Mr. Sabato: Well, folks, that’s the end of that! I would like to thank all of you for coming out here and supporting these magnificent fighters!

(Two men walk over, carrying a large check for three million dollars. They hand it to Kaizo Ryuuga.)

Mr. Sabato: I am honored to present a check for $3,000,000 to Mr. Kaizo Ryuuga!

(The crowd cheers and claps.)

Mr. Sabato: Do you have anything you’d like to say, this time?

Kaizo: Um, no, I still have nothing to say. Other than…. Thank you for this Mr. Sabato. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate receiving this money.

(Kaizo bows to Mr. Sabato and then quickly leaves the arena.)

Mr. Sabato: I can’t wait to see you all next year! Have a wonderful year, folks!

(The crowd begins to leave the arena, as Spike walks up to Dirk, covered in bandages.)

Dirk: Hey, you’re finally awake!

Spike: Yeah, so I missed the finals, huh.

Dirk: Yeah.

Spike: I take it Kaizo won?

Dirk: That’s right. But, I got to say, Kiki put up a damn good fight.

Spike: Then I guess that’s that. I’ll see you next year?

Dirk: You can bet on it.

(Dirk and Spike shake hands and then leave the coliseum.)
