With the recent release of Mario Party 9, it made me wonder...what happened to the game I knew and loved? I'm not gonna go on a rant on how the series has taken a downfall and has yet to get back up...unlike Sonic which has recovered from its fall (but that's another topic)

 

All i'm saying is obviously the earlier MPs (MP 2 and 3...i haven't played the original) were fantastic and to get back on track in MP 10 would be to take elements from those games while still retaining the current elements such as:

 

-Have the original board style and goal (coins, stars, winner is whoever has the most, etc.)

-Boo is able to steal coins and stars (my favorite part)

-Minigames after each round (MP 9 minigames are pretty good)

-Of course the nice graphics of the Wii / Wii U

 

Just to name a few...

this is just what i think and i'm curious as to what you guys think about the series and whatnot.

I enjoyed whatever one was the first for the Wii... Was that 8?

Your right, what happened to MP? I remember playing Mario Party 2 on the 64. I have enjoyed 8, though. I also think that they should take elements from past games and combine them to make MP 10.

mario party 8-9 is meh i guess.

 

I still play the original on N64. It's downright amazing.

Mario party 9 and 7 sucked. Mario 8 and Mario 4 was good.

I only played 8.... But I loved it!

Mario Party 1,2,3 were the best,7 and DS were alright and 4,5,6,9 are......not very good,but still playable(I never played http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-cool.png.I think we'll never see an other great Mario Party game like 1,2,3 again.

 

And there's nothing to say about MP advance,it was just horrible.

I have played every Mario Party game ever made through out the years. I have enjoyed playing the series, but must confess that the newer games are lacking something.

I guess you can't beat the classics.

My favorite memories are when me, my brother and sisters played MP 2 and 3 (mostly MP 2) those were the best times...It feels like now that MP has lost its meaning to me / us...

I don't see the problem here. I'm pretty sure you can literally play every Mario Party on the Wii, so if you don't like the changes made in one, just try another one.

Unless you don't have an internet connection, then you're screwed.

It's quite simple what happened to the series................ they kept making them

every other tuesday me and a friend play MP2 (i always winds lol) it's super fun

Once Boo and Dry Bones became unplayable, the series must have taken a nose-dive.
