Playstation 4/Orbis - Rumor

Posted

tutti frutti. I saw and read this article off of Yahoo! when I was looking for news and I find this ridiculous. I read that Sony's next console may not be backwards compatible like the PS3 and that it will be locked for used games. The console would be locked into your PSN account and only allow you to use that game that you purchased, among other stuff. I find this crazy and if true, I for one will not be getting this console. I put up a couple links and will look for others as I come across them.

To be honest it wouldnt be much different from what steam is on the PC, and apparently they are working on their own console. its a sad truth that the gaming world will have to deal with.

"What kind of technology will the Orbis run on? The site is reporting that developers are being told to plan for an AMD x64 CPU and AMD Southern Islands GPU, the latter of which is capable of running Orbis titles at a resolution of 4096x2160 and 3D games at 1080p. It has been previously suggested that the next-generation PlayStation would be powered by AMD technology."

How much are the money needing Sony wanting this time?

If true, this whole thing will be totally crazy.
