The Xbox 720 was first heard of to do this.

The title should be "Xbox 720 AND PS4........"

Just another reason for me to hate on Sony. I love the Playstation 3, but that's it. I have no plans to get anything else by them. Especially this, if it really is true. I mean, I get it, companies don't like this because they don't get money for resales, but what happens when you have a ton of games, and your console breaks? You'd have to replace all of them.

Well some of the PS3 games I have bought have came with a code for online play and if I did not have it I could not play online and had to pay $10 online to get it. I have bought used games at Gamestop and had the code in it already. So if they still go this way everything will be fine if they in clued the code with the game it self but, if they make us all buy a code for each game and are system breakes I am pretty sure are online account will keep that infomation like it does for every other dowload.

well this is all rumor so i wouldn't buy into it, but again if it's not backwords compatible, and won't play use games, then the only use games that it could play would be the games for PS4, again if this is true, so it just seems you can't sell your old PS4 games and buy used PS4 games, but still i really hope that this is bull shit apparently game sysytem companys don't want to make money, i mean who is gonna buy a system that isn't backwords compatible and won't be able to to play used games, thats just a slap in the face to the players

Once again, these are all RUMORS. Don't assume that the first thing you hear about anything is the truth when it doesn't come from the company making the actual product.

These are some pretty crazy "rumors" though. Most websites aren't particularly biased towards one console. Most rumors about upcoming gaming products make things sound great, not terrible. In all my years of gaming this is the first time I've heard negative rumors from an upcoming console, let alone a Sony console.

The Nextbox had the same "no used games will work" rumor going around barely a month ago, before anyone started talking about Sony doing it.

And besides, I'm hard pressed to believe these myself, because they just seem STUPID. Sure, adding tons of features that raise the price tag I can see, but trying to kill the used game market (since used games in Japan are illegal it adds up a little bit, but they wouldn't just leave the worldwide market to take the hit for that since they're trying now to appeal to the overseas audience now more than ever)? Making internet connection a requirement when a good portion of the world doesn't have a stable, or ANY, connection? If Sony came up with these ideas and actually do want to put them in the PS4, I will willingly dedicate an entire thread called "FRED WAS RIGHT! THE PS4 WILL SUCK!" to your honor, you have my word. I personally doubt it, because Sony is a business, and these things make for bad business. Anyone can see that.

tutti frutti. Assuming these rumors are true in any way shape or form it will pain me to say this, but we may more than likely break down in tears and find a new hobby.

Gee guys, this is just a rumor, don't blow on the consoles if Sony OR Microsoft haven't confirmed this!

"No plans". Wow you're a moron. You can't base an opinion on something that hasn't even been ANNOUNCED YET. These are RUMORS.

No backwards comparability isn't a new concept for gaming systems. PS3 only had it for a small amount of time. Nintendo no long manufactures anything that can play GB/GBC/GBA games, so you're stuck either using your GBA(I thankfully still have one) or DS/DS Lite (my bottom screen is covered in dead pixels) So I don't understand why people are still griping about it. Yeah it sucks, yeah it just means they're going to be rereleasing all their old games for the umpteenth time once again remastered for their new console, or as a digital download just to sponge more money out of you, but be honest with yourself; you're just going to buy that game anyway as much as you gripe about it.

Wow, you're the moron for quoting something I said months ago. My opinion has obviously changed in the last five months, thank you very much. Who wants to bet you've said something of the like quite some time ago and later changed your opinion?
