(Although it was never specified in FF: Incarcerated, this RP takes place in NYC. For me, at least. I'll probably leave anyway.)

Callum turned off the TV and looked at his clock. It was 2:00 A.M. He couldn't sleep ever since he learned a powerful game villain was inside him. Vanitas. Ever since Vanitas possessed him (If he did, maybe he was in there since birth, so gained influence) Callum had been a jerk. He didn't have any friends now. I hate you, Vanitas! He heard a scoff. Really? Do you? Callum summoned his keyblade. "I won't let this take me over. Vanitas, you won't win." His void gear looked ominous. Too ominous.

Troy woke up, again, to the now familiar sound of Ventus's voice in his head. "Come on! We're only given today for sure, and I don't want us wasting it asleep." Troy had gotten used to Ventus by now, and actually sort of found him a fun guy to have around, so to speak.

"Alright then, what to do today?" he asked out loud in that vague way he had developed of speaking to Ven while sounding like he was talking to himself as to not worry his parents or have people think him a weirdo.

"You mean after the obvious breakfast and kendo practice?" Ven answered rhetorically. Troy simply rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, after that." Ven had made a point of having Troy practice backhanded with a sword everyday for a few reasons. First off, it was a great exercise and team building activity. Second, it was fun for Troy and made Ven feel more at ease in this weird world he'd been thrust into in which he had no control. Finally, Ven could secretly tell that something bad was on the horizon and that somehow he'd get sucked into it. He wanted Troy to be as prepared as possible.

"Well, since you got all of your homeschooling for the week knocked out yesterday, I thought we'd travel around, see the sights, and try to find some really good ice-cream. I don't know why, but I feel like me and ice-cream is a thing, or should be a thing," responded Ven.

"No complaints here," thought Troy as he headed downstairs to breakfast. After his kendo practice Troy started walking around New York City, taking in all of the sights and sounds, going into shops, and in general enjoying himself. Ven was happy too, but only because this provided a nice distraction from his loneliness. Aside from Troy, Ventus didn't have a soul in the world.

 

(OOC: This would be an excellent point in time for Keilani to meet Troy and hit it off, in my opinion.)

When Keilani woke up the next day, she sprang out of bed and got ready quickly. She still couldn't believe that she had met Aria and Noel, and that they had invited her to their shows and given her their phone number. Fortunately, her parents didn't have a problem with her skipping one day of school, since she was generally a good student. She hopped on her bike and soon arrived at the building where Today was broadcast. As she dismounted her bike and started securing it, she looked up and noticed a boy walking around. The most striking thing about him was the strong resemblance he bore to Roxas and Ventus.

 

Hey, Naminé, I'm just going out on a limb here, but he's not Inhabited, is he? She didn't respond. Naminé?

 

“He is,” Naminé finally answered. She sounded strange.

 

Wait, don't tell me he can't be trusted, either...

 

“No! I mean, yes! We can definitely trust him. The Inhabiter reminds me so much of Sora...even more so than that of the boy from yesterday, if that's possible...”

 

Keilani smiled mischievously, knowing full well how Naminé felt about Sora. Well, then what are we waiting for? We're going to talk to him and find out exactly who his Inhabiter is! She started walking over to the boy.

 

“Yeah...okay,” Naminé said nervously. It wasn't a bad kind of nervous, though—it was the kind of nervous that could only come from a shy girl who was about to talk to the boy she really liked. Keilani's smile widened at this.

 

“Hey,” Keilani said to the boy when she reached him. “You look an awful lot like someone my friend knows. I'm Keilani. What's your name?” She offered her hand for him to shake it.

 

“Wow...you're so outgoing, Keilani,” Naminé said in amusement.

Alex woke up the next day. He streched his arms and went down stairs.

Alex changed his cothes and got ready for the day. It was the weekend thank goodness. He couldnt wait, but what could he do.

We could go to an arcade or the beach, maybe an ice cream shop.

Thats right, you did those things before, when you could go by yourself.

Pretty much.

Alex walked out the door, wearing his jacket and he walked out.

Felix pulled into the address Brooks had given him.

 

"Alright...its late but this has to be where Mariah is. That or a known relative or partner in crime...I just want to find out about Marcus...then we can leave," he said.

 

"I don't know...you sound kinda....edgy. Whats eaten ya up buddy?" Axel asked.

 

"Well, I just have this feeling...that I'm going to find something freaky out ya know?" he answered.

 

"Yeah, well don't let it bother ya. Come on, ring the door bell. Kids stay up kinda late these days," Axel said with a smirk. Felix nodded and rang the door bell.

"Dude, I'm getting strong vibes from this girl. I don't know what's up, but... I feel connected to her somehow. I think she has an inhabitor, like I am to you, but I don't know who it is." Ven said to Troy. Troy was stunned at the simple fact that a girl this beautiful would just randomly talk to him. It wasn't like he was ugly or anything, but just, this kind of thing didn't normally happen to him. And to hear that she may have an inhabitor as well? That just sweetened the deal. Unfortunately, Troy had hidden everything that would happen after Ven's defeat of Vanitas from himself so that he wouldn't be hurt by it, and now those things may just have to come out into the open. He didn't know how Ven would take it.

Turning to the girl he said, "Hi Keilani, it's great to meet you! My name's Troy. Would the guy your friend knows happen to be named Ven, or maybe Roxas?" Troy asked in the most sly way he could think of hinting at the idea of inhabitors. After all, if Ven was wrong then he didn't want to frighten the nice girl away for nothing.

(Damion, is Felix at Mariah's place or Rebekah's? LOL sorry, I'm just a little confused. But if it's Mariah's apartment, there'll be nobody home, because I'm not quite ready for her to appear yet. )

 

Keilani caught on to Troy's hint, as he was speaking of Ventus and Roxas like they were real people, rather than just fictional characters. She leaned in a little, giving him a knowing look. “Well, she knows a Roxas, but I'm not sure how familiar she is with Ven. So which is it?” she asked, her eyes dancing with excitement. Keilani had never thought she would meet a real person who looked so much like the Kingdom Hearts character(s). He was even more attractive than the character models.

(Well, he did a search. He's at someone who knows Mariah's house. So, it'd be great if he was at Rebekah's then he could meet James and Rebekah and the Trio could pile into his car and search for answers? Just a thought.)

 

Felix rang the doorbell again, hoping to wake someone. He then remembered how cold it was and put on his leather jacket. The temperature was dropping pretty low, and then he got an idea. Use his fire power to heat up...but what if it hurt? Eh, who cares? So he put his hands to his chest and ignited them...yep it hurt. He then yelled out for five seconds.

 

"Jeeze...Mr. Softy much?" Axel teased.

 

"Shut up...I'm cold..." Felix said bitterly.

 

"I'm not, I'm hot," Axel replied. Felix frowned and turned away from the door. Maybe it just wasn't his night...

(Well, you do realize it's still night, right?)

(Yeh.)

(Oh haha okay.)

 

After a couple hours, Rebekah awoke to the ring of the doorbell. “Who in the world is coming here in the middle of the night?” she said tiredly.

 

“Another Inhabiter,” Aqua said, holding back a laugh.

 

“Seriously?? Why do they all seem to like my house?” She heard the person outside cry out, which startled her, and she hesitated for a moment. “I have a Keyblade,” she told herself, trying to calm down. “I'll be fine.”

 

“See? You're learning.”

 

“Right...” She got to the door and opened it just in time to see a man starting to walk away. “Um, can I help you?” she asked.

 

 

"I'm not, I'm hot," Axel replied.

'Alrighty then, time to steal an Axel line,' Felix thought. 'OH NO YOU DON"T!!' Axel thought back.

 

"Hey! The name's Felix. F-e-l-i-x, got it memorized?" he said smoothly, "I'm looking for a girl named Mariah Gates. She seemed to be tied in with my cousin Marcus White. I was wondering if you knew her whereabouts?"

 

(Lolz! Yeah, I always pictured Axel as just being chill with life, and totally not humble about his appearance. So I'm writing him that way. He is [in my honest opinion] the coolest dude out there in KH.)

James woke up from the doorbell and sat up. He saw Rebekah go answer it and got off the couch. He followed her to see who it was, and was shocked. "M-Marcus!? What are you doing here?" he asked. He hadn't known that Marcus was actually killed after he fled, and this guy looked just like him.

"Actually the name is Fe...wait! You knew Marcus?!" Felix exclaimed, "I've been looking everywhere for information, and people who knew him. He mentioned a lot of people in his journal...its just...the last thing he wrote was his will...and that was on a plane over Antartica."

"'Who is it,' huh? Well for me it's Ven. Who would this "friend" of yours happen to be?" Troy asked. He didn't know why he was suddenly so confident while talking to her, outwardly at least. On the inside he was a nervous wreck. Ven seemed incredibly curious about who this person's inhabitor was, but he couldn't hide the fact that he was a little upset that whoever it was, they didn't know him. At least they could relate to him, though, and that was better than nothing. Besides, he was liking this girl more and more by the second.

"Wait, you're not Marcus? What happened to him?" he asked. "I didn't really know him that well, just that he had Vincent inhabit him and that he was a skilled fighter. At the time, I had Sephiroth controlling me, so we fought several times."

"So that makes you James? Huh...he wrote you in as taller, and just so you know he had massive respect for you. As for Marcus, he was killed. Stabbed through the right lung, and fell to the ground from 1000 ft. As to how, or who did it...I'm not sure. But I searched his old phone records, and his journal. I found the name Mariah Gates more times than one, so I'm trying to hunt her down...I need to find out why he died. Then, I need to find out what all this is about, and I need to help end it so we can all go back to normal," Felix said.

 

"His name's Felix, and mine's Axel. A-x-e-l, got it memorized?" Axel said forcefully through Felix's mouth.

Despite how groggy she was, Rebekah was amused by the man's line. “Well, you'd be the second one to arrive here looking for Mariah. Let me guess, you're Inhabited by Axel, right?” she laughed, her normally shy manner gone for the moment because she was so tired. “I can't say I know exactly where the woman you seek is at the moment, but my friend and I were going to go looking for her a little later.” It was a half-truth, anyway. She didn't know for sure whether her cousin was still living in the same place, because she hardly ever talked to her. Rebekah looked at Felix more closely. “Hey, your cousin was Marcus White? As in the governor's son? You do kind of look like him, come to think of it.” She then realized this might be a sensitive subject, as both the governor and his son had died unexpectedly and mysteriously the previous year. “Oh! I mean...please excuse me...I'm sorry for your loss,” she said, suddenly serious. “Anyway, Mariah Gates had ties to Mr. White?”

"Yes, I am James." he said. "Sephiroth is gone, thankfully, and I'm now inhabited by Riku." He was surprised that someone had actually held respect for him, even after all he had done the previous year.

"Yeah, his journal said they were friends...Vincent and Tifa had connections, so I put two and two together, and I'm assuming that the connections bind two people that would have chemistry in the right circumstances. However circumstances can change...anyway, if ya'll are going to be doing some travelling I've got a car. It fits five so I think we could put ya'lls gear in the back. I'm glad to hear that Sephiroth is gone, I wasn't sure I'd stand much of a chance from the way Marcus described him, and well Riku's an amazing fighter so that'll be great! My cousin's death isn't as heavy as it used to be...nobody in my family cared for me much...he was my only friend, and I plan on making sure his death is avenged. So what do ya'll say, is travelling out in the old 'stang good with ya?" Felix asked.

 

"It rides like a dream!!" Axel interjected.

"It's fine with me." he said. "I recently came back to life, so I don't really have any belongings to bring with me. All I have is my Keyblade, Skull Noise."

"Well we can change that...Marcus willed all of his inheritance to me. I have enough money to get us outfitted for a good long while, and if we need a plane...I've got that covered too," Felix said with a grin.

“Ven, huh?” Keilani said. “Cool! My friend is Naminé. I'd like to say that she might recognize Ven from Jiminy's Journal, but I'm pretty sure that would only be the Data-Naminé, as opposed to the real one.”

 

“What?” Naminé asked in bewilderment.

 

I'll explain later, Keilani assured her. “Anyway, I know that Naminé would love to get to know Ven!”

 

“Please, don't embarrass me!” Naminé begged.

 

“I'm actually on my way to see The Today Show in this building right behind us,” Keilani said, ignoring her Inhabiter's protests. “You should come with me. Aria Hope and Noel Peterson are appearing on the show, and they're actually Inhabited as well. Come on, let's go!” Without waiting for an answer, Keilani grabbed Troy's hand and started guiding him into the building.

 

Suddenly, she momentarily lost control of her mouth, and Naminé was speaking through her. “And Keilani wants to get to know you, Troy!” she said.

 

After the initial shock of Naminé taking control from her, Keilani smiled in resentful defeat.

 

Touché, she thought.

Rebekah finally took the full impact of the realization that James had actually been dead and come back to life. It was...weird, and pretty creepy. If Mariah really did know him, what would she think upon seeing him back from the dead? She shook her head, dismissing the thought.“Yeah, let me just get a few things, and I'll be ready to go,” she told Felix. With that, she got dressed into more appropriate clothes, gathered a few supplies, and wrote a note to her roommates giving a hopefully passable excuse for her sudden absence.

"So we're leaving now?" James asked. "I guess I could finish sleeping on the ride there." He yawned and stretched a little. Been a while since you slept, huh? Riku asked. "Been a while since I've done anything." James said. "I've been dead for a year, remember?"

"Yeah! I'll go warm up the car!" Felix said. He jumped in the driver's seat, buckled up, and then pulled up one of the three pillows from the back for whoever wanted to ride shotgun. 'All set,' he thought.

Both Ven and Troy were flustered and Troy's face became incredibly red as he was led away by Keilani. He was glad that she was looking ahead and that he was behind her, because he had completely lost the smooth confidence he'd had before. On another note, Troy and Ven were glad to be able to meet even more people with inhabitors, as they had no real idea what was going on personally.

 

Suddenly struck with a thought, Troy got Keilani's attention, grabbing her other arm gently and turning her to face him, accidentally pulling her in a little closer than he meant to. Trying to get over his initial awkwardness at the comfortable/uncomfortable position, Troy asked "Do you think you and Namine could help me break the news to Ven up to what we know in the Kingdom Hearts series later? It's helpful that the series exists, somehow showing us information from their version of reality that we wouldn't have any clue about otherwise, but I'm afraid I haven't yet told Ven about anything that happened after he fell asleep, and I feel like it could best be done with Namine's unique memory manipulation ability. I mean, he's connected to Sora, so it should work, but if either of you feel uncomfortable with it then I wouldn't dream of pressuring you into it. I just really want to let Ven down easy on this stuff, you know? He's missed a lot."

Ventus became increasingly curious about what Troy was talking about, but he knew that Troy always had his best interests at heart, so he decided not to worry about it for now.
