Kingdom Hearts: Incarcerated RP

Posted

(Although it was never specified in FF: Incarcerated, this RP takes place in NYC. For me, at least. I'll probably leave anyway.)

Callum turned off the TV and looked at his clock. It was 2:00 A.M. He couldn't sleep ever since he learned a powerful game villain was inside him. Vanitas. Ever since Vanitas possessed him (If he did, maybe he was in there since birth, so gained influence) Callum had been a jerk. He didn't have any friends now. I hate you, Vanitas! He heard a scoff. Really? Do you? Callum summoned his keyblade. "I won't let this take me over. Vanitas, you won't win." His void gear looked ominous. Too ominous.

Mariah looked at Marcus’s cousin. He looked so much like Marcus. She remembered the dreadful moment when Marcus was stabbed by Cain, but she closed her eyes and forced the memory away from her mind and took a deep breath. “Alright.” She explained how she first ran into Marcus--Tifa had told her Marcus was Inhabited, and they'd needed his help at the time. She even fondly recalled the detail of how nervous he looked at having a woman talk to him, which apparently he wasn’t used to. “Turned out he was Inhabited by Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII. He ended up helping us to fight...” She glanced over at James. “To fight Sephiroth. We fought against Sephiroth together at the governor’s mansion, where he was looking for Jenova’s head--something he was going to use to take over this planet. He didn’t find Jenova there, and he nearly defeated us, but Marcus saved me...” she trailed off. She was about to say, “and Joy,” but mentioning him was too painful for her.

“Anyway, Sephiroth wasn’t happy about not knowing where Jenova was, so he gave us a deadline to hand her over to him. Marcus was the one who figured out where she was on some crazy theory.” She chuckled and told of how he went to the Antarctic to get Jenova. “Not long after, we met up with him and August, a good friend of his, and fought Sephiroth again. We were high up in the air, but a man named Jared told me that we had been somewhere over Chile at the time.”

Mariah’s face became a mixture of sadness and anger as she envisioned the next part. “After that fight, that was when...a man named Cain, Inhabited by Caius Ballad, came up behind him and killed him. Just like that. No apparent reason, not even a fair fight.” Her eyes moistened, and she blinked and shook her head. “Anyway, you probably want to know what happened to the governor as well.” She explained how they had all gone after Cain in Tokyo, and the trap he had set for them, using the governor as bait. “By the time we reached the governor...we were too late. Cain had already killed him.”

She realized she was staring at the floor now, and she looked back up at Marcus’s cousin. “Anyone ever tell you how much you resemble him? Your cousin, I mean. Sorry, what was your name again?”

James had joined in every now and then to give his input on things that happened from his point of view, and what happened while he was gone. He was shocked that Marcus had been killed shortly after his arm was cut off.

(OOC: Sorry to interupt the scene, but do you think it'd be okay if Keilani and Troy headed out on a walk? I don't feel as though there's anything else they can do in the position they're in right now, you know?)

Felix's eyes welled....Marcus had done a lot....and then to be killed like that. He remembered it was a closed casket funeral...and it was probably because...oh God he didn't want to think about that...not at all.

"The...name's Felix. F-e-l-i-x....Got it memorized?" he quickly put his game face on, he knew it was no time to be sad, and he wiped away the tears, "Yeah...me and Marcus looked a lot alike. I'm glad he met you guys...I'm also glad to know that he was avenged. I guess I got what I needed, but there is something else...that I needed to share with you. All of you, it came from Marcus's will, and it's not a material possession."

Scott was walking in Times Square, he noticed an empty Taxi, and hopped in. "Excuse me sir, I'd like you to drive me a bit outside the city," Scott said happily.

"Sure buddy, but I don't drive cheap," he replied. Scott handed him a stack of hundred dollar bills. "That'll do," the driver gasped. Oh how easy it was to get what you want, especially when you own a casino in Vegas..

(Yeah! Sounds good to me.)

Naminé gave Keilani control again. She grabbed Troy’s hand, not quite remembering that Ven was probably still in control of Troy’s body. “Come on, let’s go,” she said, smiling. She started to lead him out of the building.

-----------------------------------------------

Mariah looked at Felix questioningly. “What is it?” she asked.

Ven took the sudden change in attitudes as the sign of a switch back to Keilani, so he decided to let Troy take control again. Once they were outside the building, Troy turned to Keilani and asked, "Is there anywhere in particular you're taking me? I mean, I don't have any plans today, so I'm good with whatever, but still, knowing would be nice."

"He was...told something by Cain. Back when August ran from him in Antartica. When he was firing his bullets and missing them. Well he wrote down everything he said, and well he wanted me to give it to either you...or August. August isn't....so....you need it right? I guess I could read it to you, because his handwriting is sad looking, and the paper is covered in tears..." Felix said quietly, "But I can assure you...I've read it once before, and it scares the living Hell out of me..."

"Please Felix, tell us. I may have been his enemy at the time, but if it wasn't for Sephiroth, I would have been his friend." James said. He held Mariah close as he watched.

Keilani stopped. “Oh...I hadn’t thought of that, actually.” She laughed. “Sorry, I have a way of just wandering to random places sometimes. Anyway, we can walk around town, I suppose, maybe find out if there are any other Inhabiters nearby. Unless you can think of anywhere we should go?”

“Wait, Keilani. There are other Inhabiters nearby. In and around that building.”

Keilani turned her head in the direction of a nice-looking apartment building. “Sweet!” she exclaimed. “Come on! Naminé says there are other Inhabiters close by!” She dragged Troy behind her.

Mariah swallowed, afraid of what she and James might hear. “Yeah,” she said quietly. “Read it to us.”

"Alright...well...ehem. 'Dear friends, if you are reading this that means I'm not living. Otherwise I would have told you myself, but that's not the point. The man, Cain. he told me about a man he trained. For some reason he wasn't inhabited by a Final Fantasy character...this led Cain to believe that he would need to purge the world of Inhabiters. This man...he is going to continue Cain's work. He is Cain's back up, but he is worse than Cain. If you fight him, and somehow manage to kill him. This man...will be like Cain, only stronger, and smarter. Cain told me that this boy he's trained is unlike anyone he's ever fought. This boy nearly killed Cain six times....he let Cain live each time. Cain is...afraid of him. That's all I heard, now if you all will excuse me, I'm going to see if I can get James to trade the future of Earth for Jenova's head. I wish you all the best, and tell August I'm sorry.' That's it..." Felix said slowly, a tear ran from his eye, but then he smacked himself in the face. "So, any ideas?" he asked quickly.

James stiffened when he heard himself mentioned, remembering very clearly what happened during that meeting. He felt terrible at all the trouble he caused, and that after he left Marcus died. It was all his fault. Had he not asked for Jenova's head, or summoned that meteor, Marcus would still be alive. "It's all my fault." he said out loud.

"No...never. I blame Sephiroth and Cain. I like this James guy, I mean come on. You...you're a normal guy, and ya know what? In Marcus's journal he explains how much he detested that you had to be bad just because of Sephiroth...he explains a lot...but we can't change the past ya know?" Felix said with a half smile, "If people could change the past we could have blonde hair and blue eyes, and sing to Hitler all day long...I mean come on! Everything has a purpose. Marcus's was to give us this information, and to bring me to you guys. I think your purpose was so intense that it brought you back to life."

“Yeah, don’t think like that,” Mariah told James, squeezing his hand. “It’s not your fault. Sephiroth’s influence was powerful. It’s his fault, not yours.” She looked at Felix. “Well, I guess we’ll need to find this apprentice of Cain and stop him from killing all of us. I have no idea where he could be, though,” she said tiredly.

"But if it wasn't for me, none of this bad stuff would have happened. Marcus wouldn't have been there to give me Jenova's head and then die after I left. It may have been Sephiroth's will, but it was my choices. It was all me!" James said, crying now. He put his head in his hands as he cried.

"No...because Cain would have just hunted them down. Inhabiters can sense other inhabiters, ya know? Marcus said that's how Vincent knew Mariah had Tifa and vice versa. Cain learned how to do that...on a massive scale...so that means that maybe this other guy can do that too. He could feel an inhabiter from a county away...what if this guy can too?" Felix asked, "But that's just a theory...James. You couldn't have stopped the death, but now you can. You have Riku, you're good like you were anyway, and now you have a chance to end the bloodshed. Lets all end this...together...but first...we need to find the other inhabiters and make damn well sure they don't die!"

“He’s right, James,” Mariah said. This time, her arms were around him. “The reason you’re even here with Riku right now is so that you can redeem yourself. If you keep blaming yourself and don’t put these things behind you, your second chance will be for nothing.”

"Th-thank you." he said, hugging her back. He held her close and putting his head in her shoulder.

(Wait for it...)

"Alright, well...I'm going to guess there are a lot of us good inhabiters, and well my little 'stang won't fit us all. I'm thinking something bigger. How do ya'll think about a furnished bus? Made to be like an RV, but ya know a bus. I know a guy who could send one up by morning...they're kinda a new thing," Felix said with a smirk, "Then, we get away until we are strong enough to fight, or forced into it.."

(Ok, didn't have to say that...but just stop posting. Don't respond to this one, or any that follow. Just get out. Please and thank you, kinda left me at GTFO.)

(Alrighty then. On with the show xD)

(Right...so anyway...)

“That sounds like a good plan to me,” Mariah said. “I’ll get some of my stuff together so we can get going as soon as possible.” She got up off the bed, grabbed some clothes, and went into the bathroom to change. She glanced in the mirror, and was a little surprised to see that she was still so thin and tired-looking. Being with James again had made her feel so much better, she had forgotten all about the way the past year had affected her overall health. Guess I’ll need to take it easy for a while, she thought. She heard her stomach growl, and realized this was the first time she had actually felt hunger in a long time. As soon as she was done changing and out of the bathroom, she went to the kitchen to get something to eat.

James wiped his face and got up, following her. "Take a seat, I'll make you something to eat." he said. He started looking around her kitchen to see what she had.

"Alright, I'll just head outside, call my buddy, and get some....Chinese food ok with everyone for dinner?" Felix asked.
