(Although it was never specified in FF: Incarcerated, this RP takes place in NYC. For me, at least. I'll probably leave anyway.)

Callum turned off the TV and looked at his clock. It was 2:00 A.M. He couldn't sleep ever since he learned a powerful game villain was inside him. Vanitas. Ever since Vanitas possessed him (If he did, maybe he was in there since birth, so gained influence) Callum had been a jerk. He didn't have any friends now. I hate you, Vanitas! He heard a scoff. Really? Do you? Callum summoned his keyblade. "I won't let this take me over. Vanitas, you won't win." His void gear looked ominous. Too ominous.

"No, I'm fine with making us food." James said. He grabbed a few things and started cooking.

"Ok, but...ya know it's gonna be a lot of people. Mariah and you can eat that. I guess I'll take the others out so you guys can eat in privacy..." he said with a wink. Then he bolted out the door. "Hey Rebekah, guys! I'm treating everyone to Chinese!!" he said loudly, ringing the metephorical dinner bell, "All you can eat!!"

James blushed when Felix said that and went back to making the food. When are you going to tell Mariah about Joy?Riku asked. "I don't know." he whispered, glancing over at Mariah. "I guess I just want to wait a bit to make sure she doesn't go running off to find him and leave me behind. That would break my heart."

When nobody came running Felix became suspicious, and walked around the corner. Where he found Rebekah and a group of guys having a little 'disagreement.'

"Alright break it up! Or get broke!" Felix shouted.

"Dude...we need to work on your entrance lines..." Axel said with a sigh.

"Hey man I'm working on it!!" Felix said sadly.

Mariah smiled. “Thanks,” she said to both James and Felix, sitting down. “So, what are you making, James?”

Keilani came closer to the apartment building. “Let’s see what Inhabiters are inside,” she said in a mock-adventurer voice. Just as she was about to take Troy into the elevator with her, she heard a man call out, saying something about Chinese food. She looked up at him. Is that someone we’re looking for, Naminé?

 

“Well, he’s Inhabited, and he’s familiar.”

 

Bad or good?

 

“Hmm... I honestly can’t decide.”

 

Well, let’s find out!

 

“Seriously? Just like that? It could be dangerous.”

 

Oh, please. We have this big, strong boy to protect us now. He can whip out Ven’s Keyblade and kick butt if necessary!

 

“Oh, of course. Ventus is a Keyblade wielder... I should’ve realized...”

 

Yup! And quit calling him Ventus--it sounds too formal. Just call him Ven!

 

Suddenly, the man came down and rushed past them.

 

“A-Axel...?” Naminé said.

 

“What? Axel?! Seriously?!?!” Keilani squealed, unable to suppress her fangirl-ness. “Come on, Troy!” she exclaimed, following after the red-haired man.

 

(Not-with-a-whimper...I need some feedback from Troy here... )

"Chicken Parmesan." he said. "I noticed you had all the ingredients for it and thought it'd be a nice dinner for us."

Troy, having now gotten used to the feeling of being drug around by Keilani, went with her enthusiastically, but was reserved about meeting the inhabitors up ahead. She was really trusting, and he knew that he'd have to protect her if anything were to go wrong. "Hey Troy," spoke Ventus to Troy.

"What is it?" Troy asked.

"Well," continued Ven, "I'm not totally sure, but I feel like I know one of them. Another one feels familiar, but I can't quite place it, and a third... well, let's just say that your hesitance isn't misplaced." With that in mind, Troy made sure that he was more in front of Keilani than behind her for her protection.

 

(Sorry about that, my roommate was distracting me.)

Mariah’s smile widened. “That sounds wonderful. So what’s it like being Inhabited by...Rikku, was it? From Final Fantasy X?” It had to be weird...a man being Inhabited by a woman.

Keilani wondered why Troy was now running a little in front of her. Maybe Ven thinks Axel is Lea, she thought. Well, same, diff. They’ll still probably become best friends instantly!

Aqua could feel a familiar presence behind her, and she turned around. “Ven!” she exclaimed in surprise. It even looked like him. She looked back at Vanitas, her face full of concern. I just hope he’s not in a χ-blade mood right now...

James chuckled and said "No, Riku from Kingdom Hearts. And to be honest, it's great not having to fight for control of my personality and body. Riku is kinda like me really. We were both possessed by an evil person, but we're free from them now." Riku was a little miffed at being confused for the girl.

"Alright, come on. Rebekah, how did this fight start? Ah, wait, ya know what? I don't care. I'm finishing it!" Felix shouted. He used Axel's signature and summoned the chakrams out of flames. "Alrighty, now...don't go dying on me guys!" he said in a calm voice.

 

"Really?! Dude come up with you're own stuff! That's my material man...whatever, ya know what? I don't care, we're the same guy so why not?" Axel said quickly.

“Wait!” Aqua said. “I’m trying to talk Vanitas out of it. Or the person he’s Inhabiting...I don’t quite know. But don’t hurt him! Or provoke him further, for that matter.”

"Woah sorry. Didn't know the situation..." he said, he then caused the chakrams to burst into flames and disappear.

“Ah...Kingdom Hearts...” Mariah had heard about the series before, but had never paid much attention to it. It was interesting, though, that the Inhabiters were no longer just Final Fantasy characters now. “Well, it’s nice to hear that you two have something in common,” she said, grinning.

“It’s alright,” Aqua said. “Hopefully all he needs is to calm down.” She wasn’t quite ready to put away her Keyblade, though. She kept her battle-ready stance in case fighting turned out to be necessary.

"Yeah." he said. He finished making supper and put the plates on the table. "Dig in!" he said, smiling.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's going on?" Troy asked, followed shortly thereafter by Ven taking full control and rushing towards Rebekah, enveloping her in a huge hug. It wasn't that he liked her or anything, but he was just so happy to meet someone he recognized at last. Turning to Felix after that, Ven asked, "Does your inhabitor happen to know me? He feels really familiar."

Felix wasn't too afraid, he could call upon his weapons at any time. He stood by Rebekah, and stood in a relaxed stance.

 

"Of course I know you silly! The name's Axel. A-x-e-l got it memorized? I knew you before Ven...I used to..." Axel began.

 

 

Scott was getting close, he could almost taste the power coming off all of those inhabiters....

Mariah began eating the food that James had made. Along with this being the first time in a while she had felt hungry, the chicken parmesan was the first food she’d actually tasted in what seemed like forever. She closed her eyes. “It’s so good,” she said, then giggled. “Who knew that you could cook so well?”

Aqua dropped her Keyblade and nearly toppled over when Ven hugged her. What was really strange was the fact that Ven’s Inhabiter was taller than she was--she was so used to standing over Ven. Despite this, she all but forgot Vanitas for the moment and happily hugged Ven back. Her big-sister instincts started kicking in, and she wanted to ask what he was doing here, but she stopped herself. Why did that matter? The last she had seen of Ven, he was trapped in a deep sleep, and she had set out to find a way to wake him up. She was just happy to see him right now.

 

She was fascinated by the conversation between Ven and Axel, wondering what their connection was exactly...

Keilani stood a little behind, smiling and observing. It was so sweet, seeing these reunions taking place. She wasn’t even nervous about the guy she guessed was Inhabited by Vanitas. He looked angry and ready to fight, but he was pretty outnumbered.

"Well, before Sephiroth inhabited me, I lived alone so I had to learn to cook." James said. He had started eating as well.

Mariah gazed at James as she savored her food. She was taking a really good look at him for the first time. The way his golden hair caught the last remaining light coming through the windows, the way he smiled as he enjoyed his food... Then she tore her eyes away, a little embarrassed about having stared at him for too long.

Felix looked over at the boys and said, "Alright...I still wanna know how this started. That way I can know whose dinner I'm not paying for."

He blushed as she stared at him and smiled. "You're really beautiful Mariah." he said, eating more.

Aqua gave control back over to Rebekah. “Well, basically, that black-haired boy picked a fight with Joy...and Joy decided not to be the bigger man and walk away, and thus... They’re really fighting over nothing, but the one Vanitas is Inhabiting seems to be taking this a little too seriously,” Rebekah explained.

Mariah laughed. “Yeah, right. I’ve hardly taken care of myself for the past year. I’m a complete mess.”

(OOC: Damion Strife, you accidentally forgot to answer Ven's question. Also, Always, you can feel free to do whatever you want with Troy. I'm headed to bed for the night because it's 2:00 am where I am.)

He finished eating and got up saying "No matter what happens, I'll always think you're beautiful." He went over to her and kissed her on the cheek before starting to do the dishes.

(Nah, that's okay, I'm going to bed now, too. And actually, Damion did answer Ven's question--he edited his post. )

 

Mariah’s cheeks reddened, and her eyes became moist. When was the last time someone had called her beautiful with such sincerity? Long before even the events of last year. It was a great feeling. She blinked the moisture back before James could see it, and got up from her chair. “I’m going to get my things together. I guess we may have a long trip ahead of us,” she said.

 

She began to gather whatever she thought she might need. As she did this, an uneasy feeling came over her. This reminded her of when they were in Tokyo. Marcus had already died. Then, of course, James, then August and Chuck. Then Joy. All except James had died at the hand of Cain. Now, they were about to face someone who was even more dangerous than he had been. She could feel the anxiety rising in her. She wasn’t ready to lose anyone else. Not now. She fought against the panic until her breathing slowed back down to normal, and vowed that, no matter what happened to her, she would do whatever it took to protect the ones she cared about--especially James.
