o_hay_man 51 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Alright so i just went out and got a PSP and BBS (i know, late) and i was wondering who should i start out with if i wanted to get the story fluently. I ask because i already chose Terra cause you know, he's a badass but was that a good choice? And what are some pointers on order of worlds i should go to so the story goes by smoothly and tips on leveling up my commands and stuff?? Update: Hay thanks guys its really great to here that i started with the right person haha. One more question, how to can i use the command bored to its fullest cause i feel like im just playing a game of Mario Party and nothings gonna come out of it. Skai 3,961 Posted April 23, 2012 Start with Terra because that's how the story was designed. Then Ventus. Then Aqua. Believe it or not, Terra has the hardest Story and the hardest game play. His dodging skill only has a second of invincible frames, while Ven and Aqua are almost always invincible with Dodge Roll and Cartwheel. He also is pretty slow, but he makes up for it with great strength. If you play him first you will have an easier time with the other two. But if you play them first, you will have a harder time playing him. 3 KeybladeWielder_, oblivion/oathkeeper roxas8 and o_hay_man reacted to this
Always 309 Posted April 23, 2012 Yes, Terra was the perfect choice to start with. After completing his story, you'll want to go with Ven next, and Aqua last. As for the order of the worlds, it doesn't matter nearly as much. I say just go in order of the "Fighting Levels" or whatever they're called. For instance, I'm pretty sure that Enchanted Dominion is Level 1 in Terra's story, then Castle of Dreams is Level 2, et cetera. 1 o_hay_man reacted to this
Slicer9875 27 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Make sure to play on proud mode, significantly easier to unlock the secret ending.Terra, then ventus, then aqua for playing order. As for advice, don't just simply hack and slash. The deck moves are pretty good like the surges. Forgot the specifics on abilities but try to get as many as you can. Shot locks are also really good once you get the hang of them. Try to get the hang of this stuff early, it makes the game much easier. Use your command board and try to get some of the things on there, comes in handy because of some abilities and shot lock on there. .Good luck when you play as Ven because of this stupid music thing with ice cream. And when you play as aqua do not ever rely on physical attacks alone unless you're five levels too high. That more or less sums up what I remember. For an ability creation guide, http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/943347-kingdom-hearts-birth-by-sleep/faqs/61043 I think this one is pretty clear and simple enough to use if you want to. That was pretty useful but that's only if you want to use it. Skyheart reminded me that sometimes guides can come in handy for this game. darkchaser 788 Posted April 23, 2012 the story was made in Terra, Ventus, Aqua order. Now when playing as terra and ven make sure to max out aqua d-link asap cuz she has an auto-life in case you die. if you want to get cure before the first disney world go on the keyblade command board and look at the spaces. In the left square of space will be cure or magnet. if you see magnet just keep resetting the command board til you see cure 1 o_hay_man reacted to this
Skai 3,961 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) As for guides I use this one for Treasure Chests, Stickers, Story, and Battling: http://www.gamefaqs....leep/faqs/59102 And this one for Melding Commands: http://wikicheats.ga...P/Meld_Commands They aren't mine, but they are quite useful. Also if you want to train get the skill EXP Chance and get hit until your in danger. It doubles your EXP. With Aqua and Ventus, you can use EXP Chance or Mickey's D-Link once you got both of his Star Orb Thingies.' Also get EXP Walker which helps when your crossing long places. hatok 6,413 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) The sequence Nomura recommends is Terra, Ventus, Aqua. As a rule, they visit worlds in that order. One way or another, you'll miss vital plot points from the other stories. Commands are VERY easy to level up, don't worry about grinding, ever, unless you want a specific one. Ventus has the easiest story, arguably Aqua has the hardest, due to her very low attack stat (And some might say her bosses are harder than the others) but it's really a matter of taste between her and Terra. You can get the Ragnorok Shotlock from the Land of Departure Command Board, which is pretty nice considering you can get it right at the start. Ventus' D-Link with Terra is ridiculous; all of Terra's power, but at super speed. And finally, LEARN TO GUARD. Unlike most KH games, guarding is an incredibly useful, if not VITAL part of the game, especially for Terra (Seriously, if you can't guard well as Terra, have fun on his final boss...) Oh, and whoever beats Disney Town last gets an extra cutscene at the end. If you are playing on Critical level 1... you may require further instruction, but otherwise that should be mroe than enough. Visit teh Mirage Arena from time to time, it ffers some nice rewards, such as the Ultima Weapon, each character's best Shotlock, and some just general good abilities (There's also a special keyblade for Terra) Oh, and Magnet is the best basic command. Zero gRavity is a decent substitute. Edited April 23, 2012 by hatok 1 o_hay_man reacted to this
Rob 5,571 Posted April 23, 2012 When you use Mickey's D-Link, you'll get double exp. Also, play on Proud for all 3 stories(the game is easy), you'll unlock the secret ending.
hatok 6,413 Posted April 23, 2012 When you use Mickey's D-Link, you'll get double exp. Also, play on Proud for all 3 stories(the game is easy), you'll unlock the secret ending. well he won't be encountering Mickey's D-Link for a while, considering he's playing Terra's Story. Also, you should have noted that the Link also needs to be level 2, but then, when you get it to level 2 it says 'Double EXP' so this is all sort of a moot point.Anyways, it's not like it's hard to grind in this game, and tehre are certainly better ways than forcing yourself to use Mickey's terrible commands. Nice observation skills on when encountering Mickey's D-Link. I should have noted, but considering I'm only telling what I remember, well..... Anyways, as stated before, the game is easy unless you want to level up however you like.
KeybladeWielder_ 161 Posted April 23, 2012 Exactly what Sky Heart said =D Its a lot easier to do it that way. I didn't know anything and played Aqua then Terra then Ven. It was messed up, confusing but brilliant. No matter what you do you'll enjoy the game
Slicer9875 27 Posted April 23, 2012 I forgot the specifics of the command board but i think it goes something along these lines. If they're any special squares, with abilities written on them, that means those abilities will actually become yours if you manage to hold on to them till the end of the game. I forgot the exact indicator but i think it had something to do with stars. SO basically purchase these special squares in game and make sure to hold on them because those special squares are the only ones which give you things that you can actually keep once the game is over. hatok 6,413 Posted April 23, 2012 BTW, if you aren't playing Critical Mode with the Zero EXP ability, you can ignore the following features: -Command melding -Ability earning -Leveling up -Shotlocks -D-Links -Command Board -Minigames -Collectibles -Finishers
Zenithia 305 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) tutti frutti. Don't throw your psp/game out the window due to the camera. I've wanted to do that on a number of occasions, but that's just me. Moving on, if you want to just play the game for the story, my recommendation would be Terra, Aqua, Ven, since I find Ven's story to be the most important of the three. But I remember Nomura mentioning that gamers should go Terra, Ven, Aqua. The easiest way to level up your moves is on the command board. (monopoly like board game - sorry can't remember name at this point) For EXP and easy leveling up have EXP chance equipped and get your character down to the danger zone of their health plus EXP walker. If you want an easy way to get the secret ending play Proud/Critical mode since you don't have to fill out the journal to 100%. If any major problems with some battles, youtube can help greatly. Rob 5,571 Posted April 24, 2012 If you don't like to battle with strategy or just terrible at the game even though it's easy(but the secret bosses will give you a challenge), I recommend the following features: -Command melding -Ability earning -Leveling up -Shotlocks -D-Links -Command Board -Minigames -Collectibles -Finishers
