I have an audition for a musical coming up in a few weeks. This is my second one. I made a topic a while ago about my first one (only got one reply - thankyou AnsemTheWise :)). Anyway, it didn't go too well. I didn't feel prepared, and I was incredibly nervous, double that when I happened to be called up first >.<. I sort of stuffed up my song, and didn't sing it as well as I could have. My nerves must have shown, but thankfully I got a chorus part. Anyway, this one I'm determined to ace my audition, and beat the nerves.

I'm not sure what I wanna sing yet. I was thinking maybe something by Duran Duran, as I've really got into them lately, and I think I would do well on one of their songs.

So anybody advice would be greatly appreciated. If you have experience and wanna lend a few tips, even better :)

Calm down, and make sure you speak slowly, clearly, and loudly. I completely flubbed up an audition because I was super nervous and sped through all of my lines. :>

just stay calm, maybe practice in front of family, i know what your going through, i tried to audition for Canada's Got Talent

Own the stage! Be calm, speak clear and laud, and show them how much you want a good part.

The first times you go to the stage can put you into a lot of stress.

But don't worry, after a while you'll get used to it and you won't feel any nerves at all.

What kind of show is it that you're auditioning for? I would recommend a broadway song over something by, say, Duran Duran for almost any musical audition.
