On a long rocky plain, a boy with white hair wielding a large sword was fighting off monsters which were made of darkness. "Is that all you guys got? Looks like this day will be a piece of cake." The monsters growled at the boy and jumped up to attack him. "Want some more huh?" The boy lifted his blade and slashed through it, turning it into a puddle of black liquid which slowly regenerated. "Damn it, I've got no time for this." The boy turned to see a giant monster with black smoke coming out of it's mouth. "Oh you got to be kidding me!" The boy smirked. "Well, the bigger they are then the harder they fall, that's what we humans believe... that's what I believe." The boy's sword suddenly disappeared in a bright light, he then held out his hands towards the monster and his hands were covered with bright light. "You shadow monsters make me sick, just leave me alone!" The area was engulfed in a bright light and the monsters around had disappeared. "That'll show ya." The boy said breathing slightly heavier, he then stood back up straight and began walking forward. (Looks like I don't have a choice anymore, if I don't travel to the past... then the human race will die out. After all, I'm the last one, only me. Just Haseo Sakuraba, the last human on this planet of monsters.)

Nate walked around the city as the night went on. "It's such a bore, but not for long. Starting tomorrow, I'll be up and running again. One year huh? Feels a hell of a lot longer than that... maybe I should have done something sooner." Nate felt the inside of his pocket before taking out a letter. "Nah, I really couldn't have done anything until today, time paradoxes and what not. Then again, the entire future is going to change, I wouldn't be surprised if I disappeared at any given point... but not yet." Nate looked around, seemingly lost. "Man, I forgot to look where I was going and got lost." Nate looked around, checking for people before realising the place was completely deserted. "Guess I'll just warp home." Nate's hand began to glow slightly golden as he then disappeared in a flash, without sound.

 

~Meanwhile~

 

Haseo was sleeping in bed when he began to dream.

 

"Haseo! Hey, aren't you awake yet?" Haseo opened his eyes to find himself in the shelter in the side of the mountain. "Neku, what is it?" "We're going out hunting, we need to get some more food to eat." "Alright, let me get my gear together." Haseo stood up and walked over to a table, picking up a pair of small twin blades. "I'm ready." "Before we go, there's something I need you to remember." Haseo blinked a few times, often not knowing what his older brother was talking about, being an 8 year old kid and all. "You've really got to remember this time, got it?" "I got it, just say what you want to tell me." Neku got down onto one knee and put his hands on Haseo's shoulders. "Haseo, where are you right now?" Haseo tilted his head. "Huh? What's that supposed to mean? I'm right here!" Neku then poked Haseo's chest where his heart should be. "Good, looks like you're already on the right path." "Path?" "You'll see when you get to my age what I'm talking about." Neku got back up, taking his broad sword and tying it up around his back. "Let's go." "Right!"

 

Haseo then woke up in his bed, realising it was morning. "Aww, I feel like I didn't sleep much." Haseo shaded his eyes and looked toward the window, seeing the sun shine through. "Bro, I've finally reached your age... but I still don't understand, what path? And... what did you mean when you made me say 'I'm right here'? Whatever, I'll figure it out eventually." Haseo led back in the bed before turning to Simca, who was wearing shorts and a sleevless top, in the bed with him. "Good morning." Simca then proceeded to give Haseo a kiss, Haseo froze for a second before jumping away. "What the hell?! Who are you?!" "Keep your voice down little one, don't want to wake the neighbours, not that you would know what that's like." "You still didn't answer my question?" Simca smiled playfully. "Tell me little boy, was that your first time?" Haseo froze and he blushed slightly. "Shut up and answer my question!" Simca sighed before getting out of the bed. "My name is Simca, Simca Misora. I am an aquaintance of The Creator's." Haseo stared at her for a second before narrowing his eyes at her. "An aquaintance? Good, then you can give me information. Where is the Creator?" "Come now, do you really think I'll give up the information that easily, learn your place little boy." "Little boy?! You look bearly older than me!" "Oh why thank you for the compliment, I've always liked how men take interest in my young body." "Just shut up! Give me information on The Creator... or else!" "Or else what? You'll hit me with your big mean sword? I saw your fight with Viral, and you didn't stand a chance." "If you won't tell me where The Creator is, then tell me why you're here." "I am here to torment and mess with your mind, it's fun actually." Haseo was getting extremely aggitated from Simca's seemingly playful actions. "Just get out of here before I kill you." "Big words for a little boy." Simca then sighed and turned away. "Fine, I'll go and find Nate, he should be happy to see me." "Wait, you know Nate River?" Simca looked back over her shoulder with a smirk. "Now it looks like I've got your interest."

Maria woke up the next morning by the sound of her alarm. She shut it down as she rubbed her eyes. She covered her eyes slightly until she got adjusted to the sunlight. She satted up and looked around her. She rubbed her head. She yawned and stood up as she made her way outside her door. She walked over to the kitchen and looked up. She saw the knife was still stabbed onto the table. She walked over to it and picked it up. She stared. "So...It wasn't a dream after all."Maria says. She stretched and looked back at Haseo's room. "He hasn't woken up yet. Well,might as well get dressed and make breakfast."Maria says as she stretched and walked back to her room. She quickly got dressed and went to make breakfast.

Haseo stared at Simca as she was playing with her hair slightly. "Tell me, what do you know about Nate River?" "Hmmm? I guess I could say some things to you, but..." Simca smiled at Haseo as he was getting frustrated with her attitude. "What?!" "... what are you going to do to pay me back for the information?" "I'll let you leave alive, that's enough." "Oh my, letting me leave alive sounds so scary~ I wonder what I'll do?" Simca said playing around, she then laughed a little. "Okay, I think I've played long enough... Nate River is a time traveler and what you would call, a "reaper"." "A reaper? You mean like a spirit which claims the souls of the dead?" "Yeah, like that. That's his power within that sword of his.. the sword of the underworld, Yamato." "Is Nate River one of the people I'll have to fight?" "That's up to you, you'll only endanger the future of humanity if you do." "So, why did Nate kill my brother?" "He was told to." "By who?" "That I can't tell you." "Why?!" "It's something you have to fight for. You want something to drive you, use the driving force of revenge and find the truth that you seek. Once you find that truth, you'll wish that you never had." "That doesn't make any sense!" Haseo's temper hit it's limit, causing him to summon his broad sword and run at Simca with it. "What do you think you're doing? Do you want to die?" Simca held up her hand and suddenly Haseo stopped moving with him lent over in mid-air. "I can't move..." "Now, be a good little boy and travel to the future. Try as you might, your future can not be saved. Nate River is the key, everything that has ever happened to you is the result of that man. The Creator, your brother, moon fall, you meeting your friends, it's all Nate River's fault." Simca's body began to flicker as if her body was a distortion. "We'll meet again... little boy." Simca suddenly vanished, Haseo then fell to the ground and his broad sword vanished into his light. "Owww... my face..." Haseo began getting back up as his arms became fists and he began to grit his teeth. "Damn it... why is my life so god damn messed up! I'll kill him... Nate River... I'll kill him! I swear it!"

Maria made pancakes. Simple and sweet. She setted them down in two plates,hot and ready. Maria smiled slightly. She heardc the cat whine about it. Maria walked over to it. "Oh yeah."Maria says. She walked back into the kitchen and took out some catfood. She opened it and served it down onto the cat bowl. "There you go."Maria says. The cat simply ate. Maria turned to the bag of cat food and stared. "Wait a sec... ... ...I don't remember owning any cat food...meh."Maria says as she setted back in the counter and closed it. She looked back at the hour. "Haseo must of stayed up last night."Maria says. She walked over to the hallway and stood infront of Haseo's room. She knocked on the door 3 times. "Haseo,wake up,I made breakfest."Maria says as she walked back to the kitchen.

James woke up in his room. His mom hadn't been home when he arrived, so he just slept normally. However, when he awoke, she hadn't returned. Something in the back of his mind told him that something was wrong, but for now, he decided to give it a bit more time. After all, with Haseo around, he was literally dealing with the possible end of the world, so he figured that this should be at the top of his list of priorities. After getting dressed, he left his home and began to walk back over to Maria's apartment, which was a considerable distance away. Maybe I should have listened to her when she offered me a cab...

Allen woke up on his bed and looked around. "I should hurry and go to Maria's" Allen yawned and then took his clothes on. Allen walked quickly forward trying to not think too much of last time events, just preparing mentally and psychially to coming. Allen noticed James and catched up to him. "Good morning James" Allen said with little bit tired voice and continued: "So out journey begins today, feels pretty weird don't you think?"

Soon Allen arrived in front of Maria's aparment and knocked. "Hey Maria, its Allen and James here!"

"Somehow, I have unusually uneasy feeling" Spiral King talked sitting on his chair. "I feel like someting is gonna happen soon"

Maria heard the knock on the door. She hurried over to the door and opened it to see Allen and James. She smiled. "Morning guys."Maria says as she had a spatula in her hand. She moved aside and letted them in,closing the door afterwards. "If you two are hungry I'll serve you a plate of pancakes. I made more than enough this morning."Maria says as she walked away to the kitchen. The cat purred and walked over to Allen and James,rubbing itself around their feet. Maria served two more plates of pancakes and then looked at the hour. "Its been 20 minutes,what's wrong with this kid?For a kid of the future he sure is a sleepy one."Maria says as she walked back to Haseo's room. She knocked on the door. "Haseo! Get up already! Allen and James are here,and your pancakes will get to cold if you wait to long!"Maria says as she knocked on the door several times and then kicked it. Hopefully that would wake Haseo up for him to eat his pancakes before they went cold.

Haseo opened the door and looked at the three of them. "Sorry, I was held up by something." Haseo walked out, making sure to keep his eye sight low as he thought about what Simca said. (So, Nate's power is to reap a person's soul? How the hell is anyone supposed to fight against that? I guess I should just avoid his attacks and then take him out when he lets his guard down.) Haseo sat at the table and looked up slightly. "Oh, thanks for the food Maria." Haseo began eating his pancakes slowly, still in a lot of thought. (If this is all going to lead us to the Creator, then maybe I should go searching for that armour... the one that I heard Nate River wore.) Haseo looked up at everyone. "So is everyone ready for today? I mean, if we go, there might be no coming back, we could die out there. I feel so responsible for all of you now, especially since this is all happening because I traveled to the past." Haseo looked down at his food. "There are so many things that have changed because of me. People's lives could have changed, the future is changing and it could be for the worse... Anyway, we'll be going 500 hundred years from now, that's when technology began to move at a rapid pace in order to combat the Creator. When we get there, I somehow doubt we're going to have a warm welcome, the Creator is the only one with a way of time travel, so everyone may suspect us." Haseo finished his food. "By the way, Nate said he's been living here in this city for over a year now, but why is it that no one knows who he is. We know he's also a time traveler, but other than that, there's nothing." Haseo crossed his arms and thought before sighing. "Never mind, we'll save this for another time, we need to get to the point where we're going to jump, you all ready?"

 

~Meanwhile~

 

Nate found himself walking through the street again, wondering where he should go. "So bored~ ... I want something exciting to happen." Nate rubbed his eyes as he obviously looked tired to everyone. (These people... everyone can see me... odd sensation... it's never left me, even this past year.) Nate looked around, everyone seemed to be going about their daily lives as usual. (These people don't even know that their lives are in danger... and that I'm the one who's going to save them.) Nate stopped walking around and looked up at the sky. "It's a nice day today, just like the last time I saw it... today was the day that I began my journey." Nate began walking around, putting one hand on his stomach. (But still... I can't believe that guy stabbed me before I arrived last year... then he left me with a task like that... that sure was mean of him.) Nate gritted his teeth and carried on walking. (Nate River... the name of a hero who saves the future... the name of a murder... nothing more than an alias... I told Haseo that Nate River wasn't my real name, but he knows for sure that it was me who killed his brother nine years ago... I'm only a year older than he is... one year... everything revolves around the year between my arrival and Haseo's... even I don't know... why one year? Was it to make sure we didn't meet any sooner? Probably, if we met when I was still the same age as him, he would have recognised me straight away... he knows who I am... but has he realised that he knows? Tch, answering my own questions here...) Nate sighed. "No point in worrying, give him a month and Haseo will have caught up to me. I'd better go to the jump point, I need to go with these guys too." Nate then began to walk off outside of the city.
