I don't think Vanitas can come back. I think Ventus' darkness combined back with his heart. I think the two are one once more. Unless Xehanort separates them again...

Ventus didnt wake up as far as we know his body however responded to his hearts activity

Ok? another question for all you KH fans, why don' t everyone else have a Keyblade, like Lea they had to have the makings to be a Keyblade Bearier, I'm sure there could be some more, like Dilan, Ienzo, and the rest of the old Organization that would like to help Sora beat Xehanort

Lea was given the keyblade ceremony by Yen Sid . Thats why ..They werent .

You need a pure heart or a good heart or something i dont remember but as in other games your the CHOOOOOOOOOSEN ONE MWAHAH but lea got one maybe cause of his connections to the light like with ventus sora and roxas Meh

I believe that Vanitas will play some kind of role in the next title cuz when Sora met Young Xehanort in La Cité des Cloches, Nomura said that Ven's heart was resonating within Sora.

 

Nomura: They did so in order to tempt Sora’s heart and have it fall to the darkness. In the story it also talks about how abandoning the self leads to losing the heart. When you see Vanitas (the dark half of Ventus who appeared in KHBBS) overlay Young Xehanort for a moment, that represents Ventus’ heart reacting inside Sora.

Ventus hasn't wake up yet, his heart is still in Sora I think. Vanitas would make a perfect 13th darkness, since he doesn't actually needs to be possesed... his heart is COMPLETLY dark, and he follows Master Xehanort already so it's two birds with one stone o.O
