Jane let out a woot, tossing the last of the case files into the "OUT" box on her desk. She spun around in the chair, jumping out with unbelievable enthusiasm. At the rate she got paperwork done, she'd make Colonel in no time! Well, maybe if she got it done on the right day...

But since that was finished, Jane had time to watch the exams. She strutted through the halls, humming to herself as she gave little waves to other agents as she passed. Jane entered the waiting room, greeting the man at the sign-up counter before throwing herself into one of the chairs. She stretched, turning to the woman next to her. "Hey, Riva. Any of the recruits look good?"

Azke sprinted through the door to the sign ups. He was late. Azke quickly signed up and proceeded into the lobby. He found a seat that was away from everyone else and began to entertain himself.

"A few keepers for sure. So far only 8 will make it but I have my eyes on a certain few. Namely this kid named Herro. Not bad and with the right kind of training that kid wouldn't be half bad." She spoke a slight smile on her face before her lips closed as she pondered something.

After a while and much time of waiting. Azke was the last person waiting and was called to the first test room.

"Finally..." Azke muttered as he got up and walked through into the first test room. "I hope I pass..."

"This a test for meda capabilities" the officer pulled out a meter. "Place your hands and focus your Meda. "

Azke looked down at the meter. What the? he thought as he placed his hands on the device. Azke then tried to focus. He really wanted to past this test.

The meter barely moved above average "alright move to the next room you pass."

In the next room there was about 27 people waiting for the next test.

"Herro, you say." Jane thought back to the mountain of paperwork she had just sold her soul to complete. "I think I just processed his written application... that's right! His dad was, um... Rahni Sincari! You know, he was a Hero. Well, yeah he was a H.E.R.O. like us, but I mean his rank. Now that I think about it, I think he was the only agent to make Hero..." Jane rattled off the onformation as it came to mind, quieting when she realized that Riva was thinking to herself.

In silence, Jane began to tap her boots together. Was she really that desperate for something to do? Without somethng happening, this was probably the slowest job in the world...

Jane got a phone call, it was from luke H.E.R.O. director in general rank. He's doing tonight look for Darklings pop ups and sends officers out to take care of them.

Azke looked down at the meter. He was disappointed that he only just got past average but he was still glad he passed. As Azke walked into the next room he saw that is was crowded with people. 'Another long wait! Great' he thought to himself.

An officer entered the second room. " Alright the next part is that link each other I will be calling two people at a time in the order you came in." He started calling people as time passed, they finally reached Herro. By this time there are only 8 people left in the room.

Herro entered, he had to fight this guy named chase. Chase weilded just a sword. chase activated his meda and a sword turned on. He charged at Herro And the battle started!

"Ya I did know that much about him. Nothing else really hey has anyone had any sightings on Riku yet? I'm itching for him to come already. He's been quiet for about three weeks normally someone would be dead or he would of been caught. Though I still can't believe some of the scientists want to experiment on the human Darklings. It seems like instant death to me." She spoke this quickly while watching the fight with focus. "Not bad at all........"

"It is kinda weird, though." Jane agreed, hanging up the phone. "Well, looks like I've got work to do. I'd say let me know who makes it, but I'm the one who'll be doing their papers." She sighed, leaping out of the chair. "Later, Riva!"

Jane returned to her desk, plopping into the nice cushioned seat before pulling her revolvers out of the bottom drawer. Rule one with guns... or was it rule two? Three? It didn;t really amtter what number it was, but she still needed to make sure they were in top condition for work later. Darklings weren't the kind of enemies that welcome mechanical failure.

Ok to much battling the officers refereeing the battle between chase and Herro came to a conclusion. "Herro won." Was all He said. Herro Was told to continue to the next room Where there is just 9 people sitting in a room. The people that made it. Herro let out a sigh of relef an sat down.

An officer came out of the second room. "Jaeden and Kyle, your next."

Jaedan nodded, then starred at Kyle. "Keep it clean." Jaedan said with confidence. and the minute they enter the room, the battle began.

Kyle used a boomarang with blades on the ends. The blade only appeared when he used meda, and the were energy blades. He threw it at Jaeden then charged with a punch.

Jaedan generated a throwing knife threw it at the boomerang, then kicks kyle's fist into the air. "Gotcha!" he generated three knives at once, then literally nails Kyle to the ceiling. Feeling slightly dizzy though, he regained balance.

The officer refereeing the battle decided " Jaedan wins! Continue to the next room."

After while Another officer injured the second room and said "alright last to your up. "

Maxwell finished the newspaper he was reading outside of the recruitment facility, and placed it in a recycling bin.I don't have to give the recruits assignments for a while, might as well check in on them. As he entered the facility, he scanned his I.D. on a door that would lead him to a room that over-watched all the rooms the people were being tested in.

Jaedan jumped up in excitement, then ran into the room with everyone else, but as he ran, he kinda lost balance, but regained it. Why am I so tired? I didn't really put that much effort into that fight. Can it be that I used to much Meda? I don't understand... Oh well, I cant let it bother me now. He walked up with the rest of the 9 people in the room, waiting for the next test to start.

10 people

There was never any harm done in getting some work done early, right? Jane holstered her pistols, throwing on a short jacket before heading out. On the way, she peeked in on the exams. Ten left... how many were they supposed to have in the end? Hopefully less. All that paperwork...

Jane exited the precinct, trying to decide which way to go. It was such a nice day, it seemed a shame to drive around in a tiny car. Finally choosing (randomly) a direction, she headed off, enjoying the... "fresh" air of the city. Sure, it was great having so many people around you, but it did come at a cost. Noise pollution, physical pollution, thought pollution... but it was her pollution, and she had to keep it safe. Jane had passed an old Italian resteraunt (maybe good for lunch...) when she heard a scream come from down the alleyway. With only duty in mind, she charged down the dark alley, one of her guns drawn. Why did people have to rob other people?

But this wasn't a robbery. A woman lay on the pavement, torn to shreds by the hulking black, wolf-like figure over her. It turned to face the H.E.R.O., darkness trailing behind its movements in tandem with the blood cascading from its mouth. It made no move for her, which was surprising. Jane stood frozen, gun in hand. She couldn't even bring herself to level it at the beast. "Yo-" She stuttered. "You're dead." The darkling's eyes slanted, almost sneering. It leapt backwards onto the brick wall, mortar crumbling beneath the impact. Jane snapped out of the trance, aiming for the Darkling. She fired, grazing its shoulder as it leapt again. Two more bounds and it had cleared the rooftop. Gone.

Jane rushed to the woman, confirming what she already knew. With a knot in her stomach, she holstered the gun and pulled out her radio. "Dispatch, this is Commander Augus. I need CSI and... a coroner at Monte Vista, behind 'Potrano's'." she said with a heavy heart. "We have a Code 636."

The officer entered the second room. "Azke and Josh your last ones."

Ayana walked through the halls of H.E.R.O HQ. She had just been released from another test. Ayana sighed and stood still. 'Third one this week. More than usual.' she thought. Ayana glanced to her left and saw the new recruits who had passed the exam. "I should probably talk to them being one of the highest ranked and all." Ayana muttered to herself, pushing open a door to the room.
