Darkling

Ragna just sat out in the forest, starring at the graves of his comrades that where once alive. "Dammit.... I'm such an idiot... If only I was smarter...." He looked back at the two black blades he possessed, which where sitting behind him, but not against his back. He stands up, looks at the graves one more time, then turns. A Darkling walked up to him, then patted his back, grabbing onto him like a child. "You must be the new born. What, you wanna stick with me?" he smiled to the small Darkling, then hoisted it up on his shoulder, smiling.

Jaedan saw Ayana walk in, then waved at her, "Hey there ma'am! How may you be?" He said with a normal and happy tone. He had never seen a higher ranking officer before, but then again, who that was new had? He just takes the oppurtunity to get to know the higher rankings when he can.

"Damnation." Jane slammed her fist against the coroner's van, her meda-fueled rage rippling through the vehicle.

"Commander." The medical examiner snapped her out of it, Jane taking a deep breath to calm down. The ME popped the pen back into her coat pocket, brushing her wavy hair out of her face. "I can confirm that the cause of death was a Darkling attack, but it isn't like anything I've ever seen. Was there anything odd that you saw about the Darkling? It's alright if you don't remember. It was a stressful time, and-"

"It was Alex Collins." Jane muttered. "I'm sure of it." The doctor looked at her, confused.

"You mean Cain? I thought he was dead." A few other officers were gathering nearby, some trying to seem busy while others didn't even bother. They wanted to hear this.

"I... thought he was, too." Jane admitted. "I checked the body myself. I killed him, but..." She fell back against the wall, wiping her face with her hands. She wasn't crying, it just helped her calm down. "But there's no mistaking what I saw. That was Alex Collins."

"I see." The ME nodded, trying to force a smile. "At least we know what we're up against, right? I'll do the autopsy and let you know what I find." She put a hand on Jane's shoulder. "In the meantime, maybe you should get some rest."

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks." Jane thanked the doctor, finishing up her work at the scene before heading back to the station.

Azke looked over to the boy named Josh. I'm fighting him! Azke thought. Josh looked so much stronger than him. How is he ever going to win this fight. Azke picked up his sword and followed Josh out the door. As Azke entered the arena he saw that Josh was holding a meda-powered gun. All I need to do is get up close and strike him hard. Azke thought.

Josh began to fire at Azke.

Azke used his sword to block the bullets. He was trying to get close to Josh to attack him but when ever Azke moved closer, Josh moved away. Azke dodged a heap of bullets and continued running at Josh. Josh's bullets kept on coming so Azke had to stop and block again. How am I going to get close to him. Azke thought. Azke rolled under a multitude of bullets then soared into the air and before Josh could target Azke, he dived down and knocked the gun out of his hand. Azke then kicked Josh to the ground.

Ayana smiled. Kiss up or gentleman? "I am fine, thank you. I'm one of four generals here. I see that all of you have passed the test. Good job." she said. Her phone rang. "Excuse me." Ayana quickly apologized, stepping out the door and answering the device. "Hello?"

"Ayana? Could you once all the recruits are, bring them one a tour of the place? Thanks!" the voice of the colonel in charge of testing rang out and disappeared quickly. Ayana swore under her breath. She had a hard enough time finding her own way around. She sighed and came back in.

Rixku taking this as a good moment to step in came up behind Ayana. "Need a little help? I have a few minutes to spare before I go check out a Darkling sighting. This ones caught my eye. They said a blindfold was left behind by the Darkling. Ring any bells?" With a smile she took a step back before looking at everyone who passed. "Not bad usually don't get this many. I hope all of you are ready for the things you'll have to face. They're not fond of us just as we are of them. Anyways i'm gonna help Ayana here show you around this place."

The officer referring the last battle test said Azke won. He told him to head to the last room where the others were. There were 11 people who joined today. But only three stood out. Azke, Jaedan, and Herro.

Herro watched as Azke entered the room. "Heya, I'm Herro. Looks like we made it huh?"

"Yeah..." Azke smiled. "I can't believe I made it. Anyway, my name is Azke, nice to meet you." Azke held out his hand to Herro.

Herro shook Azke's hand. "So why did you decide to join?"

It took three seconds after Jane had returned to the precinct for her to learn that they had eleven new recruits who were joining. That meant eleven recruits-worth of paperwork. With a heavy feeling weighing her down, Jane dropped into her seat. It felt like... failure. The one thing she had been commended for, the crowining achievement that got her into this organization in the first place... and it turns out she hadn't even done it.

No, she had killed Alex Collins. Jane dug through her desk, pulling a blue folder out of one of the drawers. She flipped open the case file, reviewing the notes and photographs. He was dead. Absolutely, positively dead. Two in the head and four in the neck had seen to that. Even a Darkling couldn't take that kind of abuse. And she had checked the body herself. The body...

Jane dropped the folder on the ground as her arm lashed out for the phone on her desk. She cradled the reciever against her shoulder as she dialed the extension to the morgue. "Doctor May, this is Jane Augus. Do you still have Alex Collins' body in storage?" There was silence from the other end. "I know you keep the bodies of higher-developed Darkling for research. Did you save his?"

"We should have it." The voice on the other end snipped abruptly. "If you come down, I can have one of my assistants help you. I'm a little busy right now with your murder victim."

"Oh, yes. Sorry for the interruption. I'll be right down." Jane apologized again before hanging up. She bent over, picking up the scattered papers and photos from the case file. Jane stopped as she picked up one of the photographs, the black corpse in the image almost staring back at her. If this was him somehow, she had to take care of the situation. She would have to kill the same man twice.

"Thanks a lot Rixku." Ayana said. She cleared her throat to get the recruits attention. "Right then. This is Riva, another of the generals. We'll be showing you around in just a bit. But, if you could tell us your name's and weapons." Ayana spoke clearly and loudly. She wanted them to think that they're safe here, that this is their new home. She listened politely to eight of the recruits. All that were left were the ones Rixku had pointed out.

She nodded listening silently to everyone else before smiling slightly. "Maybe you'll get to see my weapon in action it packs a lethal punch when I need it to." She stopped her sentence before pulling out her phone. ""I'll be back in a minute. Hope all of you do well because you're gonna need it now." She silently walked away flipping open her phone.

Herro nodded and introduced himself "I'm Herro Sincari, son of Rahni Sincari. I use a meda powered sword and gun with meda powers"

Jaedan smiled, stepping forward, "I'm Jaedan, It's a pleasure~ My weapon is a Beam Dagger-like machine, allowing me to use throwing knives." he smiled with his friendly smile

Herro greeted Jaedan after he introduced himself then turned to the generals. "So what do.we do now?" Herro asked. Herro was eager to get started and kick some darkling butt.

General Luke noticed of a disturbance. He grabbed his phone and called Jane.

Jane pounded her fist on the examination table, looking down on the corpse wth hatred. Alex Collins' dead eyes looked up at the women who stood over him, Jane swearing loudly as she began pacing the room. "It was him! I know it!" She slammed her fists into one of the storage units, the door's lock quivering as she did so.

"I'm not saying you were wrong." Constance May pulled the cover up over the body, its figure still prominent under the sheet. "It's rare, but there have been cases when a Darkling has multiplied. Perhaps what you saw was a copy of the Darkling Cain."

"Maybe." Jane responded with a choked voice. "It's worth looking into." She leaned back against the wall, puling her phone out as it started ringing. Jane flipped it open, checking the number. The boss-man. She pressed the key, holding the reciever up to her ear. "Commander Augus."

"Commander, there's a darkling sighting in the woods north-west of us. Can you head up here and ill give you the run down."

Ragna sat in the forest, playing with the baby Darkling that was innocent and only fed off of plants and other fruit. "Arent you just the cutest thing.." he looked at the young darkling, as if something seemed different. "This Darkling... it seems.... different....as if there's no killing intent." Ragna looked around, then realized what was wrong with his scenery. "Crap...I'm in range, I better move." he began to move away with the baby Darkling.

"On my way." Jane acknowledged, hanging up. "There's a Darkling sighting in the woods." She glanced down the the lumpy sheet that lay on the exam table. "It might be Cain."

"Be careful." Doctor May warned. "In the meantime, I'll look into cases of duplication. One of our most wanted is both lying on my table and running around town. We need to be ready for anything."

"Thanks." Jane thanked her, nodding as she left the morgue. If she really was being called in to take out Cain again, she wouldn't miss her chance this time. It took a while, but she managed to find her way to the outskirts of the woodlands. It seemed to be one of those days where traffic peaked while everyone was supposed to be at work. Jane checked her phone before peering into the treeline. There was something in there that needed taking care of, and she was more than ready to wipe it from this planet.

Ragna

He see's the girl within the forest, "better keep low. Come with me alright little guy? Huh? Little guy?" the little innocent Darkling had found some berries, then began to feast. Ragna knew that he would have to do something before the little young one was seen. Ragna slowly walked over, trying not to be seen. "Come Here little guy, it's a little dangerous at the moment.." he takes the berries with him to feed the young Darkling, then slowly sneaks away, hoping not to get caught.

"Yeah there's hasn't been any in a while. So why are they popping up now and why they coming up in these locations anyways?" She was now not just worried but curious. They had just started reappearing and in such locations it's somewhat unusual and she couldn't help but be worried. "Fine then i'm on my way just keep track of them so I can get to them without going on a wild goose chase."

Ayana stared at a young boy with green hair. He didn't seem likely to reply anytime soon. "All right! Let's get going." she said briskly and walked out the door not waiting to check whether the recruits were following her or not.

Jaedan was right behind her, following with interest on what the building looked like from the inside, and how it worked. He was always a curious type, looking for an adventure.
