In light of the tragic shooting at The Dark Knight Rises showing in Aurora, CO last week, Warner Bros. Animation has extended a second look to its upcoming cartoon seriesBeware the Batman and is making some changes. No Joker, Riddler, or Penguin in Beware The Batman.
Variety reports that the studio's executive VP, Sam Register, has been asked the creative team to scrutinize the series' depiction of weapons. Subtle changes, such as reshaping gun barrels from round to square, will be re-rendered for the final cut of the show in an attempt to further stylize the artillery. Additionally, certain situations deemed "too realistic" will likewise be altered. As one might expect, this review process will not be cheap. A Warner Bros. spokesman declined to comment. Sources stress to Variety that Register, who is an executive producer on Beware The Batman, made these changes proactively on his own, without pressure from anyone higher up the corporate ladder. Beware the Batman is expected to debut on Cartoon Network's DC Nation block in 2013. Among the differences in this series from previous depictions of Batman is making Alfred more part of the action, with the character described as "gun-toting" in this version.
Well, there goes my reason for watching this new Animated Batman series. I was going to give it a chance even though I hate the CGI animation but now this is utter crap to me. Seriously, all because of a guy came and shot people in a movie theatre going to see the new Batman movie? This is ridiculous and won't change anything in the slightest
