I was thinking Sora's Heartless should have appeared as a main character in the game. I mean he can be a main character and his form is human like Xehanort's Heartless. I mean Xehanort's Heartless had Master Xehanort's clothes. Sora's Heartless can had Vanitas's clothes so the connection to Vanitas and Sora similarity can be comfirmed. Also Sora's Heartless can at first study under Xehanort's Heartless like MX and Vanitas but later he changed his mind and fight against him. When he was born maybe his first thoughts is about getting Hearts just like Roxas who thoughts is nothing.

 

His perosnality will be nothing like Vanitas but had Sora's but with a sad perosnality like for example. He is kind but a the same time gloomy, sad and distant and had some Sora's that he is very kind to everybody and tries to fight off his Heartless instinct.

 

His appearnce should be like Vanitas. He can had black hair, yellow eye and looks like Sora/Vanitas. His red suit can include a Heartless emblem in his chest and no mask or he can make one.

Sora's heartless was just that. A Heartless. It is not Vanitas (However cool it may be) becasue Sora became a heartless after releasing his heart and kairi's (and whoever elses heart was in there), thus that is Sora's Heartless.

i like the idea of vanitas being a heartless but in kh1 he wuz a normal one so that wont make sence =/
