So i have been wondering about Vanitas appearance in DDD. At the end of Birth By Sleep ven defeats vanitas. So why exactly did sora see vanitas. Is it that vanitas returned to ventus heart which is locked away in sora for protection would that mean vanitas is inside sora as well? Or possibily he did what Ven did with sora hide his heart within Xeahnort. Especially Now that we know about the thirteen darknesses. Could Vanitas be a part of them. tell me what you think.

Wouldn't be cool if last minute he tries to ruin Xehanort's plan? (Unfortunately most likely a failed attempt, but he might just do something very good) I can see it has happening, and I'd rather seem him try to betray him rather than some Xigbar betrayal theories (Xigbar may be a jerk, but even he should have some loyalty principles)

What I'm more interested in is just how he's already half Xehanort, and I'm a little confused about their naming, even though they're back to normal they're still referred to as their Nobody names, is it possibly because they accepted that personality over their original? But Braig is hardly different at all, maybe it's just because it's what Sora and Riku first knew them as.

Idk, they were missing in the present, but maybe they'll use both their Nobody and human counterparts to double the number of them in the 13 darknesses, so far the only confirmed are Xehanort, Xigbar, Saix, YX, apparently Terra's body, Ansem SoD, and Xemnas.

It is and isn't, Xehanort claims to have him in possession but Mickey still believes they have him.

Eraqus isn't dead. He's inside Terra's heart. Xion is also not dead, she simply merged back into Sora with Roxas, where she was meant to be.

 

Not trying to start an argument or anything, but Vanitas fades away exactly the same way Eraqus does... if we assume that Eraqus didn't actually die and went to Terra, than we pretty much have to assume Vanitas did the same thing with Ventus. Vanitas also fades onto Ven's platform and fixes it. I think it's more of a stretch to assume Vanitas is dead than Eraqus. Just a thought.

Actually, there IS a difference. Terra caught Eraqus as he fell and Eraqus vanished similar to how Kairi did in Kingdom Hearts... Vanitas however faded without being able to grab the X-blade AND the Unversed also were eradicated which emphasizes his death.

The reason I don't believe this theory (personally) is because the Unversed ceased to exist, directly because of Vanitas' death. To me that means he was eradicated and not just assimilated.

Vanitas was willfully making the unversed from the negativity he was feeling. If you're subdued and locked away, you can't actively make anything anymore. Also, its not like KH enemy logic makes sense. If nobodies are made from the empty husks of people when heartess take their hearts, shouldn't we have been fighting nobodies in KHI as well? We didn't go to just about any of the worlds from BBS in other games besides Radiant Garden (terranort probably kept them at bay before it was consumed by darkness) and Disney Castle(Mickey and Minnie would have taken care of them), so how do we know those worlds weren't still over run with unversed before they were plunged into darkness?

I think that is very possible, not for nothing XH is in his old body (i knew he mentioned Terra as his vessel), but probably something went wrong so he had to return to his old body (due to the meddling of Eraqus in the end of bbs), and use Terra's body as a puppet... one of the darkness.

The retcons in 3D totally ruined all of the drama in the KHII plot. Which legitimately bothers me.

Not all of the drama, plus I always thought the main drama of KHII was finding Riku?

Of the "plot". As in the Organization, their quest, and all that. The retcons in this game ruined the drama of it.

Plus, the two of them you don't have *that* much interaction with until the end. I suppose it kills (/shotshotshot) the drama of Axel's death knowing he comes back. But that's always going to be sad.

I wonder why Sora himself doesn't look like Ven, seeing as Ven's heart had taken shelter in Sora's heart once before, when he was very young/just born. it was ven's heart AFTER vanitas had been removed as well. I also want to know where Ventus originated from, seeing as MX abandonded him in the land of departure.

Xemnas was lieing to them, they didn't know they were growing hearts. They honestly truly believe they were heartless and the only way to get it back was Kingdom Hearts.
