Is my PS3 controller wireless or not?

Posted

Ok so I bought a ps3 and a spare controller and the spare controller came first. In the packet came the controller but also a usb cable, even though I ordered a wireless controller. Even on the packet it says "Wireless". I was wondering if the cable was just for charging or if it was a wired controller. Thanks.

Well, it has to charge doesn't it? That's what the USB cable s for.

It's wireless.

It is wireless.

The cable is for charging it.

And when you charge it you can plug it into your computer if thats easier than having to sit on your floor with the PS3 controller plugged in to the playstation.

Also congratulations on buying a PS3 *COUGH* not a xbox *COUGH* ;D

If it was wired then the wire would be attached to the controller. You wouldn't be able to unplug the controller from the cord. In short, it's a wireless.

Hell, it even says wireless on the controller. That should be your answer right there.

well looking at the pic i knew it was wireless already. not only that, you said you bought a wireless controller.

also the wire is for charging the controller.

I can't believe you have to ask this question. Yes, it is. The cable is to connect it to the PS3 to charge when the battery is low, temporarily making it a wired controller until you unplug it.

A wired controller thats like a foot and a half long? I hate the PS3s charge cable. Least the Xbox you can sit comfortably and continue gaming while its charging.

The USB plugs into your PS3 so that you can charge the controller when it gets low on battery. You only need to plug it in to charge it. But maybe you would be better off getting an actual PS3 controller, I don't know how good the 3rd-party ones are.

I don't understand what you meant in the underlined part.

No. Do. Not. Talk. About. Xbox. Like. That. (If you love xbox so much why'd you get a playstation???)

I got em both cuz i'm a gamer. I appreciate good games on any system. I was just saying that PS3s charge cable it ridiculously short. Its barely 2 ft long. The Xboxs is like 10 ft long. Plenty of length to sit comfortably and play a game while your controller charges.

I thought that was what you said but I wasn't sure haha. It is way too short. I think you can get longer ones though... Maybe.
