Yes, well I've been lazy and haven't finished the game... Just now I'm stuck because I cannot defeat Xemnas nor Ansem's second form u.u; I knew I was too underleveled to enter TWTNW, to begin with, since I am playing proud mode, but none of the other bosses were this difficult (one-hit kills even with Second chance? Dx come on!)

 

um... So yeah, enough with the ranting. I've been leveling my characters for a couple hours now (at least 2 more levels each), and Riku is lv 37, while Sora is 33, but I get the feeling that if I go now, the result will be the same. Suggestions, please? ;n;

Stop levelling with Riku, level a another 2 levels with Sora. Make sure you have Once More and Second Chance. That should do it.

Just under level 40 will make it a fun challenge.

 

But I had Sora on level 45 and Riku was on 51

I was level 58 with Sora and 61 with Riku when I did it, but I was grossly over-leveled from finding all the link portals and treasure beforehand, I normally think it's best if you're struggling to be about 5 levels or so above the required level for the world (think it was level 39 on proud? Never checked it before I went in but the world before that was 36)
