Kara walked on the sidewalk to the school, a new school. Psyche, the god of Souls had made this school. The teachers are practically fallen angels that fought in the Great Soul War five hundred years ago. Kara's blue shard lit up slightly as she entered the school, her walking causally to her class room. "Karasu Suzaku, come with me to the office!" the principal yelled from the door. The whole class laughed. Kara slowly got up and walked out of the room, and in three muinets, she was sitting in the principals office. "Kara! You are one of the chosen. Go along and make friends that were chosen by the Godess of Souls and go capture demons!" the principal yelled. Kara just nodded and walked back to her class.

I heard everyone say there was another chosen one, Kara didn't seem to happy about it though. I didn't feel like talking to anybody right now I didn't want the new girl noticing me....

"No, Zero is hurt. Come with me." Kara said leading the way. "Zero's mom was possessed by a loose soul. I realesed the soul, but Zero is very hurt..." she said sadly, looking at all of the blood on her hands. "Matches, the house is dark, your shard should glow when you pass it..." Kara said, running off to Zero's house. Kara ran as fast as she could, finally arriving to see Zero knocked out. Kara rapped up his wound, then looked sadly at him. Kara needed to use her powers, so she placed her hands above Zero's wound. She created a blue light over the wound, healing Zero, even though the pain would still be there.

Good thing Kara didn't take off my jacket and shirt if she did.......she would find out......I tried opening my eyes I couldn't see much except Kara infront of me but most of it was my black blood. "Here let.....me....heal.....myself........" I told her unfolding my black crow wings, I asorbed the feathers and felt some of my strength coming back to me...

"Zero, I can heal you with my magic. Don't burden yourself with what wasn't your fault." *Both my hands started casting a heal spell, one to Kira's cut, and the other to Zero.* "Kara you were in a fight...please tell me if you got hurt. I wouldn't mind healing you all." My spell on Zero was finishing. "The goddess of magic herself taught me this...you shouldn't feel pain soon."(

Josh's healing spell cut off my feathers I tucked them away and breathed heavily looking at my wound still gushing out black blood. "This is going to be a mess." I thought to myself, "So....rry........Josh......." I looked at him unfolding my right wing placing it on his shoulder and back.

Noticing his wings withering I stopped immediately. (Zero...) "No, I'm sorry Zero. I didn't know..." (Are your wings...your life? Your...soul?)

Kara looked at Zero sadly. "Aaross." she said as the bleeding subsided. Kara gave Josh a slight nod and looked at Zero with a smile. Her blue shard turned black for a second, then back to blue. "Sorry Zero..." Kara said as the world vanished, Kara now unconscious...

"My.......soul......was put.....into....these......wings........for...my own..........protection, at least........that's what Death...........tol....d.......me." I coughed up black blood to my left trying not to get it on Josh and Kara, "Healing.......spells make.........it.....worst for.......me....unless.......you use.........black magic. My blood............rejects......regular......healing......spells and.........that makes......it...go to my....wings." I looked at him pretty impressed he found out where my soul was but as for my spirit......then I saw Kara....."Ughhhh Why am I so useless?" Iasked myself....

"Black magic. The one type Hecate cant teach me!" Feeling useless to Zero I started to heal the recently unconscious Kara. "This shouldn't take long Kara. Just hang in there. Zero...we will find a way to help you...I promise."

Matches seemed to be a bit surprised with the situation. "Zero's wings...." Matches started to feel a little uneasy. "Josh, is Zero going to be okay?" Matches looks over to zero "Zero is really badly injured. But his mom was possessed by a loose soul? He says to himself. Matches starts to wonder if someone close to him will ever be possessed or maybe..... Matches quickly shakes his heads of any thoughts. " My head..." Matches doesn't seem to be feeling so good. "Guys I'm not feeling so good..." Matches puts his hand on his head in pain. "Guys. I think I need to go home in rest." Matches body starts to feel weak. " tell me if Zero is okay. I'm Out" Matches rushes away from everyone all the way home. He reaches his bedroom, exhausted and then faints.

"Just.......heal......Kara....don't.....worry....about me." I felt the ground I was sitting in a pool of black blood, it reminded me of the other times I sat in my own blood. I then opened my left wing and covered my wound with both wings giving me warmth. I saw Matches and before he left I said, " Sorry......you.....had..to...see that....." Looking at him, he seemed paler that usual I assumed that he was not fond of the sight of black blood everywhere.

"Zero'll be okay, Matches." (I just...don't know when.) I went back to healing Kara. "Just remember Zero. I'm here now if you need anything at all, PLEASE...just tell me." (If only I read minds too. I wouldn't feel as much grief.) "Zero, Kara, Kira, Matches...you all seem hurt. *I glanced at Matches strolling away.* Don't get like that on me too Matches."

"Death taught......me how to read minds....when I was little, Josh......this is no big deal......I'll just die and be reincarnated.....all my blood is almost gone any way...."I watched the door way wondering if 'he' would come, I took off my hood revealing all the blood from my left eye. And let my black wolf ears show to let 'him' know where I was, and a few minutes later a grey wolf walked in looked around then looked at me. He wagged his tail and walked over to me seeing all the blood he wimpered and sat next to me, and licked my face.

I finally finished my healing spell. Kara was still unconscious but the spell was constantly, gradually healing. I smiled, and even pet the wolf. The wolf reminded me of family, of comfort, and safety. "Zero, this isn't a healing spell, but it should help until you are properly recovered". *I cast a small wind spell* I moved it until it covered up Zero's wound. "This might sting a little bit, but it'll prevent further bleeding. The wind went slightly into the wound to keep the blood in. Now, this wont hurt at all." I moved the earth under Zero having hard rock on the bottom to keep it stable and soft grass and dirt for Zero to rest on. Like a bed. "I promised id do whatever I could, right? Still ill help you more whence you need or ask for it."

"Thank you....oh yeah this is Skull......he's an old friend of mine." I pointed at the wolf, letting my wings rest on the grass. "He can tell where I am........when I have my wolf ears and tail showing." I twitch my ears and moved my tail weakly, looking at the tip of my tail it still had my blood on it I put a dot on the grass and a flower bloomed out of no where. "Just like the old times." I thought to myself, "Skull how have you been doing?"

"Fine I'm glad to see you alive." He wagged his tail even harder.

"Heh I haven't seen you in forever huh?"

"I've missed you over the years."

"Me too Skull."

"Half dead and already making me jealous..! Looks like I'm going to have find my own companion sometime soon!" I started petting Skull some more. "Zero, you still have quite a bit of blood on you." I got water from the clouds and started washing away the black blood. "Looks like I'm babysitting someone older than me." I laughed. "Ready to start walking yet, Zero? Maybe even Death would heal you. He's your father after all."

"Heh well Skull helped me.....father is busy right now I don't want to bother him....besides that's why I called skull here." I told Skull to come closer, "Hey Skull use Soul Wind ok?" He barked back and raised his tail and covered my whole body with special ink, and then my feathers grew back healing my soul and all the blood was gone and my wounds were gone as well. I got up tucking my wings and hugged Skull, "Thank you Skull." He wagged his tail and rest his head on my shoulders, once I was gone I looked back to Josh. "I'm ready."

Erika sat down in the grass. "My name is Erika. And yes, I guess you could say I'm a chosen one. Do you know what we've been 'chosen' to do?" She asked Josh. Why am I not surprised by this wolf coming out of nowhere? From I've seen in the five minutes I've been here, I better get used to it.

"Well of you could just do THAT this whole time...hm. Anyways, we have a few things to do. I'll leave the choice to you. We should probably search for souls, especially if my previous theory was correct." (Maybe we could bring along Matches if he's near.)

I summoned my sword and enhanced it with a calm watery aura. "Well then let us go Zero, Skull."

 

"Erika should come too though. (How much people am I going to have to EXPLAIN THIS TOO?! Oh well.) Well, you see, Erika...Psyche the goddess of souls split-up her own soul into 2 parts, the soul itself and a crystal. Now the CRYSTAL was split up into several different colored shards, as seen on our necks. These shards enable us to detect and collect evil souls, in which we must return to Psyche. Many things have happened to us lately, injuries amnesia and such that would take decades to elaborate on. So skipping our life stories, I have theorized a 'catch' in our quest. Id assume that these fragments of Psyches soul, being a goddesses, would eventually overwhelm us and we would all unfortunately become...Psyches. Luckily this hasn't been proven. *gasps for breath* Ready to go now, Erika?"

"Hey Skull just ran 500 miles to get here.....ok lets go." I followed Josh not summoning my weapon yet. "Do you want me to put up an illusion? So people won't see our weapons?" I asked.

"An illusion? That's fine. Someday we're going to have to teach eachother the different types of magic!" I started practicing the elemens I knew in the sky.

~~~Kara's Dream~~~

 

She walked in the endless field, this was the time she could choose. Time never existed in the place she was at. Kara kept heaving foward. She was injured but she did not care. Kara, now with long, broad, silver wings on her back. One of the wing were silver, the other pitch black. Her eyes emotionless, Kara seemed dead. "Kara, stop wondering." a little girl, way younger then Josh laughed. She could not see the girl, she was nothing but what seemed a shadow. "Please stop Kara..." another shadow yelled, a more adult like figure. "Please stop." a man said. Kara started running. Psyhce stood not too far away. "Kara. Go back, be with the others." she said. 'Why...I don't know what to do!' Kara thought. "GO!!!" Psyhce yelled. Kara disappeared.

Kara awoke from her uncountiousness. "Zero!" she yelled, held back by what seemed her own limbs. "Josh..." Kara said, touching his shoulder, then letting her hand drop to the ground. Kara didn't want to say anymore, she didn't know what to say...

"I guess." Erika replied, shrugging. Her fingers wandered up to the shard around her neck, twisting it around. "Magic? Yeah, we will have to teach each other that." she agreed.

Kara woke up! She was almost speechless. "I can imagine you were having a nightmare." I assumed. "Me, Erika, Zero, and his, uh, pet wolf Skull are going to try to find souls now...you should come. You're all healed now. Skull and I helped Zero as.well." I pulled Kara up."What was your dream about?"

"I think that Psyche's trying to tell us something..." she said sadly, looking at her shard, then her back, making sure that she didn't have wings. "I think I saw my real parents, and maybe my real little sister..." she said, looking at her hand.
