So I'm going to get the HALO 4 Xbox 360 (I'm NOT trying to brag, I just a question answered) in November, but I have my gamertag on my friends 360 (I started my account years ago do to not having a 360) So does the HALO 4 Xbox come with a transfer cable, or is that only the non HALO 4 Xbox that has it? And I realize that this is not Yahoo! Answers, but I don't want to make a whole new account for one question when I can just ask it here. Plus you guys know about video games and such. Please don't be rude when responding, thanks.

Um......you can just sign in to your account when you buy the 360.

Can't you buy the transfer cable separately?

Ehhh I hate talking to people, because I stutter, but I asked my friend and he said I could just borrow some flashdrives to transfer the data. Thanks for trying to help though

So you're saying right after I buy me Xbox, I hook it up and my account will already be there and I can sign in? That's incorrect, if that were true there would be no need for a transfer cable

Stop acting like you know what you are talking about when you are asking for help on the same subject.

The transfer cable is for transferring data between the hard drives of two Xboxs. While it can be used to transfer gamer profiles it is NOT necessary. When it gives you the option to select/create a profile there should be an option that allows you to recover the Xbox Live gamertag. After asking for your Microsoft username and password the profile should be placed on your xbox.

Note that the profile has to have an active Xbox Live subscription (probably Gold) to be recovered. In order to transfer a profile that does not have an Xbox Live subscription you will need the transfer cable.

Transfer cables are NEVER including with an Xbox 360. They must be purchased separately.

Sort of, you can recover your profile on the system and everything stored online will be downloaded.

EDIT: You should seriously stop acting like a smartass on a help topic that you made.

When you obviously don't know what you're trying to correct.

Correcting people is fine as long as your not vain about it. The problem here is that you are correcting people that aren't wrong and being vain about it.

Oh ok, It's just my friend made me believe that you can't, I asked him and he said you need a transfer cable, so I was to believe that Rob was wrong. He also has an Xbox and I thought he thought he knew what he was talking about. Sorry of how I acted, but I just have a question, if you can recover your gamertag that way, why to transfer cables exist?

Like I said, transfer cables are used to move data from one xbox to the other. This can include but aren't limited to games, game saves, gamer profiles, themes, pictures, movies, music and so on.

Mad that the Halo franchise has sold more games than all of the PS3 AAA exclusives combined?

Nah, I just hate shooters.

That's reasonable since all shooters have exactly the same since 2008, but to be fair 343 Industries has really been trying to make Halo 4 different while still feeling like a Halo game.

It's probably not hard to make a shooter feel like a shooter . ;)

Wasting my time playing a game I enjoy? I don't rip on you for liking your games, please don't do that to me

And they've done a great job with it, judging by the gameplay, and trailers released, I'm just so scyked for this game.

Beeboop. I'm just messing with ya. But not about the hating shooters part. Cause I really do hate them.
