well..next year I go to college...I want to go for physics...and I have started thinking about a Ph.D already...My dream is to become a quantum physicist but beside that I also love the theory of relativity,atomic physics and elementary particle physics...I was doing some research I think that what I found didn't include this other topics in the quantum physics (...is this so??

and if anyone knows,is there any modern physics Ph.D?...because that should cover all of these subject

My advice is that there's no point thinking about a PhD at this time. Just think about your next degree (whatever you're doing at college). College is going to change your opinion about your academic future greatly, so wait until a year or so into the degree before you start considering a PhD.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha oooo my god you made me laugh a lot with that last one ...it's not that I'm some nerd guy that stays only with books in his hands but in my country if one speaks of these kind of subject they make fun of him/her and kinda leave them out of society ...so I wanted to make a post here then talk it with other people in Albania

Yeah, Culture is deteriorating. I had good grades, but science wasn't my area of expertise. It wasn't my focus. My plan is to become an author.

You might find you're destined to be something else or you might be what you originally wanted to be . You find out a lot about yourself in college that you didnt know . It's a great experience .

Well you SHOULD do some planning and set some goals out , I'm just saying I would expect that some things might not be what you thought you would like or some things might end up being things you like more than you ever thought and you could change your mind . Just be prepared for either..

In general, America is not a very driven country. At least with this generation, anyway. Theres alot with drive, but there seems to be more without.

I disagree. There is LOTS of driven and ambitious people and you are generalizing a whole country of people .As if you know what they are like and what their aspirations are. You shouldnt judge a whole country of people you don't know . I went to college with plenty who work their ass off to achieve their goals. You HAVE to in this economy .If anything, people are working harder than EVER because its a must right now .
